I don't know, try it out. I can tell you one thing, it is FAST!!!!!!

might try this for fun....and use cyans rom as back up...

I need a second G1...

can you release one with the pam pre theme??

which dialer does it use?

The regular one. I'll be sprucing it up with themes soon enough. I just wanted to put it out there quickly because it is FAST! Also, I'll be taking requests for MOD's. Those with the most votes will get included.

perfetct rom(imo)=htc apps and widgets w/o rosie

I agree would love this rom even more if it had HTC widgets!

What exactly is the difference between the MyTouch and, say ADP1.5? Besides the wallpapers, they seem to be the same. I looked at the MyTouch previews from T-Mo and it looks like my G1, w/o the KB. It had a couple new apps, but I hear those aren't availible yet, and have to be applied post purchase. Anyone clear this up?

can anyone compare the speeds with this and cyan's rom?

The Hero Dialer is Amazing, and I can't believe Peep is winning over HTC Music, the app is pretty but the widget sux, Twidgit is much better. Someone said Palm Pre Theme, that would be fun, lol
I havent tried this yet but does it implement a cool lock screen with graphical battery or full screen pic, those are really nice, and hopefully HTC Camera and Gallery soon, I think thats what you mean by the .apk being implemented
Looking forward to that version
edit * does this ROM still have this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536727 fully working? * edit

Email and wifi
Does this rom have a sort option (by sender, subject, oldest, recent, etc.) in the POP/IMAP email client?
Also, does anyone know if it supports WPA2-Personal wifi networks like the Hero build does?

it states right in the OP that wifi works. Why don't you try it?

Soulife's Roger Remix v3.1
Version 3 was completely rebuilt from scratch. I incorporated the new HTC update, as well as added mytouch support (sapphire 32b). This build will also fit any spl, so you need not worry about which spl you have or which version to download. Themes coming soon... (i hate not being themed)
(There's 2 builds available now. The regular will work with any spl, and the extended build has been "odexed". The odexed build should be slightly faster, and will also give you full space on your data partition. All themes that get developed will be for one or the other, and not compatible between the 2)
Yes, this will work on your mytouch (sapphire 32b), rogers, or dream/G1 device
Please check this thread by haykuro before flashing this on a rogers phone!!
To add all the ringtones, alarms, and notification sounds back on the phone download the sounds.zip file from download page, and add those 3 directories to the root of your sdcard. Viola, you now have audio.
Also hero and standard wallpapers are available for download.
This Build is constantly getting worked on, so looking at the change log to figure out what your getting can be confusing. So here it is in a nutshell...(as of September 29, 2009)
DO NOT RUN ANY OTHER APPS2SD APPLICATIONS ON THIS BUILD. YOU WILL BREAK YOUR SYSTEM. THEY ARE NOT NECESSARY BECAUSE THIS ROM WILL DO A2SD AUTOMATICALLY AND BETTER!
Built with Cyanogen's kernel and ramdisk (4.0.4)
(please, please visit his thread. a lot of those same rules apply here
i modified his a2sd script and ramdisk to be more suited for this build, also dalvik-cache stays on internal memory and not on sdcard when a2sd is active)
* UNIVERSAL! Runs on both Dream and Magic 32B
* Does not require "DangerSPL"
* Now identifies itself as either T-Mobile G1 or myTouch
* Enhanced ramdisk which uses optimal mount options and smart startup
* Includes E2FSProgs for checking and converting Ext filesystems
* Apps2SD is automatic! All you need is a second partition (ext).
* Includes script to upgrade to ext3 (from recovery mode, see FAQ)
* Supports ext2/ext3/ext4 for Apps2SD
* Clean filesystem shutdown at poweroff/reboot, and fsck at boot (no FS corruption!)
* Highly optimized kernel with many extra modules
* Maximum CPU scaling frequency set to 528MHz with latency tweaks
* Runs /system/sd/userinit.sh after A2SD setup and before starting the runtime for user scripts
* Compcache 0.6 enabled by default (if no userinit is present)
* Linux cgroups for better app prioritization

~no more pre-themed builds, porting more themes
~updated Google maps

Because it's been modified from the rogers rom. In theory, if it works on a G1, it'll work on a rogers. He's just not guaranteeing it as it's not the device he has.

Installed, just applied the odex them. It's booting. I'll let ya know.
So if I try to flash my stock Rogers Dream... all I do is rename this to update.zip and do the flash procedure¿
I`m not suppose to flash the radio or spl due that they don`t work on the Rogers Dream.
You'll have to root first.
Just installed. First impressions, great theme rework. Funny thing is, it's basically what I've always used prior to going to rogers. So far, everything seems quick, as expected with a Rogers rom.

Love it. Great work.
it seems it is really good. I love to try it. But would you mind adding back the chinese languages and the HTC_CIME? Thanks
The clock is bothering me with the theme. When it switches to double digits or landscape it looks... well ugly. Ill try to do somethin with the theme or "bang" my head against the wall to port a white clock. I don't wanna lose my black status bar lol. I donno maybe I'm just missing stericson touch.

[Rom] Soulife's ION Remix v1.2.2 [7/13/09]

READ THE DAMN POST PEOPLE, THE MAJORITY OF QUESTION I GET ARE ANSWERED RIGHT HERE!!!
Remember it's good practice to wipe before coming to a new build. 9 out of 10 problems are because you probably didn't wipe when coming from another build (as in one that's not mine). Also, hero is great for polluting your /system/sd directory. And a lot of developers are installing stuff on the data partition. So if you have a2sd and you flash a rom that installs stuff on data, it will reinstall itself when you come to another a2sd enabled build. Which could cause problems. Just a few things I want everyone to remember. Flash away...
This Build is constantly getting worked on, so looking at the change log to figure out what your getting can be confusing. So here it is in a nutshell...(as of July 12, 2009)
Two different versions now available. Regular for those with the "original" spl and Extended for the "special" spl.
To add ringtones, alarms, and notification sounds back on the phone download the resources.zip file from download page, and add those 3 directories to the root of your sdcard. Viola, you now have audio.
DO NOT RUN ANY OTHER APPS2SD APPLICATIONS ON THIS BUILD. YOU WILL BREAK YOUR SYSTEM. THEY ARE NOT NECESSARY BECAUSE THIS ROM WILL DO A2SD AUTOMATICALLY AND BETTER!

(dalvik-cache stays internal)

CREDITS
Haykuro provided the initial build
Haykuro provided hero build (where i got some artwork from)
Cyanogen provided the kernel, boot.img, a2sd method, settings.apk, e2fsck tools, new busybox, concepts, etc....
Stericson provided lockscreen, HTCmusic from hero, white clock
Manup456 provided A LOT of the artwork you see
MOONSSPOON for artwork
ultra spikey for artwork
(playing with ion i've come to realize that its not what is in ion that makes it fast, its what's not in it if you ever read dalvikvm from ion for speed, laugh, unless every single build has started using it, it is the same as on a stock g1 )

It takes almost 10 minutes to get pass the second bootscreen. So give it time.
NOTE to the Developer: why is the pull up tab for the app tray so low on the screen. pretty hard to tap with it so low
Nevermind. Got it working.
Anybody know what icon pack that is? Hoping there's one in the market for bettercut so I can match 'em up.

HTC Dialer
I used the Google Ion rom sometime back and have always loved its response. I am currently using a modified version of rogers rom and love the HTC dialer.
Can anyone please confirm if this ion remix have this dialer or not. Preferably a screenshot would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks soulife for your great work

BFS REPO - All are update patches. Just boot to recovery and flash, no wiping needed
BFS230 is the most stable, flash that if you are having prolonged problems.
After updating the Kernel, boot the device once fully, then reboot to recovery and run "fix uid mismatches"

TIPS TO HELP MAINTAIN YOUR DEVICE - MUST READ! - Thx Reignzone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4734077&postcount=1729
Code:
* Set swappiness to 0 and the kernel is going to start swapping only when absolutely needed.
* Set swappiness to 100 and the kernel will preemtively swap out memory you are not using.
If swappiness is set to 0, swapping will occur when I start editing a big document or navigate to a big web page. So, while I will be able to jump from window to window pretty quickly, I’ll experience delays when using one of the memory-hungry applications intensively. Try yourself values of 0, 100 and a few values in between to see which best fits your particular use profile and understand how each one of them will affect swapping.
Great thread for configuring swap, USE IT! (I personally recommend swappiness of 30 or 40, but it depends on how fast your sd card is or how you use your device, so it could also be 100).

Haven't checked SMS, let me know.
Downloading now. Can't turn down another Hero ROM.
reboot in loop
Wifi fails to turn off. Similar problem that Qtek had with v1.1 of his rom.
1st txt I got came through, will let you know how it goes over the next day...
Cheers
SMS works fine. WiFi fails to turn on or off for me. This ROM definitely feels fast though. Are there any plans on doing a CompCache version? As with the Qtek ROM, it gets slower and slower as time goes on.
Wi-fi works, but sometimes you will need to restart since it hangs, not ideal I know. It does work, I promise.
hi,
this rom only in wwe?
can i install without partition sd?
thanks evil

format your ext2/ext3 as evil D described and it'll work. Some hero roms need a clean install.
any joy with bluetooth stereo on this? Getting ferd up with stock rom man, tried them all same problems no bluetooth audio with headsets.....
Few things I've noticed so far, seems speedy enough, stable. But...
Wifi on/off does work but only after resetting the phone, too much hassle
no led charge lights
no auto-rotation in texts/email apps
Get these sorted and you could be on to something nice here.

I just deleted the contents of my sd card, then put the update.zip on it.
Went into recovery mode as normal, wipe and then flash update.zip.
Worked a treat.
Can anyone tell me which languages there are for the UI and XT9 in this ROM? I don't want to be disappointed again with it being WWE only...
Thanks

[ROM] SenseHERO-v1.4 - 2.6.29.6 "Themed & Fast" mytouch/dream 11/28/09

A Short forward:
First and foremost, sorry for the delay in releasing new builds. Life happens. I bought a new car and have been doing a lot of work. You can thank Manup456 and MikeTaylor for doing work while I was away and harassing me to get off my lazy arse. Manup456 even went so far as to gChat me things I had promised and to hold me to them.
This is based off of the new Sense Hero Dump, thank you to the source. I think I know who you are, but you definitely know who you are! Also, thanks to Lexton Drakes for providing the dump.
This ROM builds on a lot of the stellar work JustAnotherCrowd put into Hero development. In essence, SenseHero maintains the framework and method while replacing some of the content with the new dump. JAC may be MIA, but I'm sure he will be back.
WARNING
As always me, Manup456, or MikeTaylor are NOT responsible for any damage done to your phone by flashing this ROM. You do so at your own risk.
THANKS
Please give your thanks and donations to Manup456 and MikeTaylor. Both do a lot of testing, brainstorming, and development for any of the work I put out. In fact, we put it out together. Specifically, Manup456 did most of the porting/merging of the JACHEROSki ROM and the Sense dump.
Thank you JesusFreke, Cyanogen, Drizzy, Maxisma, barak, TwistedUmbrella, KingKlick and all of the other devs and users who make XDA so fun, interesting, and worthwhile.
There is one build but three "nowipe" updates so you can test different kernel configurations and settle on one you like.
SSenseHERO-v1.4 - Themed and Unthemed
*Move all system apps internal to speed things up (like before). Free memory will be lower. This is not a bad thing.
*Updated user.conf by MikeTaylor00. Appears to fix the reboots and wake up issues.
*Updated theme by Manup456 (BIG PROPS!)
*Increased dalvik heap size
*adjusted mic sensitivity
SAME AS BEFORE (ALL THAT HERO GOODNESS)
SenseHERO-v1.3.3 - Themed and Unthemed
Themed by Manup456
Optimized and ported by MikeTaylor00
*Based on the 2.73.405.61 SenseHERO dump (Thanks to Drizzy for providing the dump!)

SenseHERO-v1.1 "Moving backwards to go forward." deprecated
Weird, I know. But through testing we have come to the conclusion that BFS-240, or at least my iteration of it, is faster than the newer BFS. Anyway, you be the judge.
I will be releasing another build with CFS/CFQ tomorrow and the new EB1I patch that allows for both 32A and 32B (end user doesn't really have to worry about that, it's in the kernel config.) If any devs are wondering about it ask me or check out @cyanogen's github as he has details.

Code:
There is some new ground being broken here, and a few bugs to still shake out but I believe that it should be pretty stable as a daily driver. Please help us out with *quality* bug reports (including logs).
It's important to know that the "DangerSPL" (or DeathSPL or Haykuro's SPL or whatever you prefer) is a prerequisite for Dream/G1 users. Magic (MT3G etc) users do *not* need to do this. Ciwrl has written a guide to installing this bootloader. Flashing this bootloader under the wrong conditions can actually brick your device, so pay attention to the guide. CM releases have always avoided this requirement, but the new bootloader frees up enough space so that no crazy hacks are required for a fully functional system, and it's easier to keep in sync with the N1/Droid releases.
What's NOT included that you'd find on a Nexus One:
* Launcher2 (too clunky for these devices)
* Stock Live Wallpapers (LWP support is there, but may not work with all LWP apps and/or performance may be bad)
* Facebook (install from the Market, contact sync works perfect, at least on Sapphire)
* Google Voice (install from Market, push notify works perfect)
* Gallery3D (too much of a memory hog)
What's included:
* Everything that goes with Eclair
* 3D, video, camera, camcorder, BT, WiFi, etc are all of course working
CyanogenMod extras:
* Can be used with or without Google applications
* Kernel 2.6.34 with Pershoot's tweaks
* ADWLauncher is the default launcher!
* Complete music app overhaul by Eliot Stocker
* New Apps2SD method implemented mostly by Chris Soyars.
* Built in USB & Bluetooth tethering
* Graphical enhancements, #boobs, and excellent wallpapers by Prash and SatanR1
* Includes BusyBox, htop, nano, powertop, openvpn, bash, irssi, and all engineering commandline utilities
* FLAC audio support from Kenny Root
* Phone enhancements from Cytown
* Contacts enhancements from Wysie
* MMS enhancements from, well, everyone (see changelog)
* Perform zipalign-on-install of applications
* DeskClock tweaks- longer autosilence and "require unlock" option
* Massive APN list
* All available locales are included thanks to PsychoI3oy
* 360-degree auto-orientation by Optedoblivion and Elanthis (enable in settings)
* OpenVPN integration thanks to James Bottomley
* Music app can respond to long-press on the volume buttons (from Metalhead)
* Many other bugfixes and tweaks from AOSP contributors
* Tons of work on the build system by Koush and Chris Soyars
* Big thanks to Zinx for debugging some really difficult issues! He really deserves most of the credit for getting this thing working so well.
* See the full CHANGELOG for all credits and details

cyanogen-bcrook-wesgarner-pershoot-merlos-dumfuq - and anyone else i missed
reserved - rather than allow someone else to post the updates for my work I have decided I will update this thread myself with any releases in the dream section - since it is for both dream 32b and magic 32a
Great! the previous was IMHO the more speedy and smooth 2.1 rom for Dream. I'm flashing this new immediately.
thanks for your job!
What does the renice script do exactly? Was it to lessen the call lag?
yes renice script is to ensure their is no call lag and that when you are called it comes up immediate
works pretty good imho
Gonna flash n test this out
I was running Cyanogen Mod 5.0.8 stable and while it is nice, I had to theme it to get it the way I wanted. I wiped and flashed the Cyanogen Mod 5.0.8 Black version for my HTC Magic and now it looks like I need it to look. Changed the bootscreen to something a little more visually pleasing but kept the wallpaper.. ya'll know which one I'm talking about
Now if I can just find a really nice dialer
loving it so far great job. hopefully i can use my logcat live wallpaper again soon though it works on cyans latest but not yours for some reason. other than that no issues its running smooth and i'll be using it for quite some time im sure. thanks again
Loving it too well done fella
Is Gallery 3D missing?
I love the new build and it's about as fast as it gets on my G1 but I saw in the OP that Gallery 3D was included but it's nowhere to be found on my device after flashing this latest version. I also checked the contents of the zip file and couldn't find any apk for it so I'm assuming that this is/was simply an oversight by the OP/dev.
Otherwise great work!!!
All my best,
Chris R.
UPDATE: I tried extracting the Gallery3D apk from another Eclair build and then install it to this one using Astro and it failed.
gallery3d was included in the 5.0.8-T4 version of this rom iirc, did you try the APK from there?
yea if I missed it - my bad
was an oversight as I had removed it when I was working on my liquid rom from my apps folder and just forgot to check that

Excellent suggestion! I had tried two other versions of Gallery3D from other Eclair builds and neither one would install; of course the one you suggested worked beautifully, so thanks again for the help! Much appreciated!
Nice rom....
Hey, like your ROM and uses it every day.
I notice you have the latest version of ADWlauncher - very nice. Just one request, please. Can you PLEASE keep the way the default ADWLauncher scrolls the apps, horizontally and not vertically (like old Donut style). For me it make sense to have the screens swap horizontally and the apps too.
If you cannot, can you perhaps add an option to choose between the two (if it is there, I am sorry, but have missed it).
Yes, I know I can re-download and install ADWLauncher again, but then I have two, have to redo all my home settings, etc. And how to I remove the old one...on the G1 we are still very limited for space...sadly.
Thanks for the great ROM and effort.
Flashing now! hopefully this is good
Edit: faster than ever! Just seeing how good the battery is. Will test the battery for two days, comparing to other ROMs.
faster from chromatic ?
