I got a PM from a member who had only 1 post, asking for help about an app. I knew about that so I replied him back with what he/she was asking for.
So, if a PM from 1 post member is there, should we reply to them or just tell them to ask in the community to not on PM.
Thanks
That is at your consideration
I have recieved PM form 0 post guests
So it´s up to you if you reply or not...
Common sense.

That is OK, but what is suggested by the community mods?
Sorry I didn´t see it was intended for Mods reply
Good day,
OK, I think it doesn't matter at all if to reply them or not.
OK. Thanks...
Orb, lamborg didnt ask just the mods, but (@ lamborg) u can choose not to receive pms form peeps if you dont want to... personally i dont have a problem with peeps pm'ing me, i have helped many via such.... sometimes noobs just dont want the fear of getting flamed, or sound daft so prefer to do it this way.... they also dont know how to search effectively to start with (lets face it it can be difficult sometimes when patience is low)
So as my friend says, personal choice... if you dont give out personal details, what harm can it do...... you can guarantee the question has been asked before.... so surely it helps not to further dilute the forums
man i can ramble sometimes after some wine haha............

So I decided that sometimes public humiliation is best....
IN response to my response below to a user named ass posting he same request for help 3 times in a few hours

STOP making an ASS of yourself, I personally have no idea what you are talking about and cannot help but I am sure that with that attitude no one that can is falling over themselves to help you.
Remember, upgrading is not your birth right, it is a privilege, and quite often there are problems with the process. Stop acting like a spoiled child. Try doing a google search (although I did and could not find anything) or perhaps searching M$ knowledge databases. BTW, you have 3 posts and they are all about this problem. Have you tried searching or reading anything else on this forum?!?
If you don't have the patience for this then I suggest you head directly to the nearest wireless store and buy a "fone" that is a lot easier to use.

if u dont know wat im talking about shut ur ****in mouth im not asking you , do u understand that?
Anyone else think ass deserves a timeout or perhaps a ban?
Sounds good to me dcdivenut.
This is something best handled with a PM to faria or another moderator and a PM to the offending party saying you have done such. Though I don't agree with what he did, escalating the conflict on the forum doesn't help things and another thread is just more garbage for the rest of us to wade through. You could just ignore it and go on too.

Very true and that is done as well, but given that we have already seen the removal of ROMs from this forum as a result of folks like "ass" who act as if it is their right to flash new ROMs and then expect people here to drop what they are doing or go and cry to their providers, I thought perhaps a little public humiliation was in order.
Let's just say that I learned many a lesson that way in my youth although I certainly didn't appreciate it at the time!!!
I have certainly moved on, and will continue to answer questions when and where I can, and continue to point out when people act like asinine jerks.
Please forward any specific incidents of abuse or bad behavious directly the mods. Remember to click the ! button next to a post if it's dodgy, or just send us a link to the post.
The mods have a thread for keeping an eye on bad boys and girls, and will take action if required.
But everyone, please be respectful of fellow users. We all deserve respect; politeness costs nothing.

take a look at this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427531&page=18
i've been waiting for answer there
all we can do is just patient.
and if u still get no answer, u can also up your thread/post
also try to search for the answer here or google (it could be somebody knows the answer out there).
If you have a problem you can pm a moderator. This section is for questions and answers, not a blog or commentary. Therefore this thread is being closed. Quit re-opening up this topic or you WILL get a ban.
there's no point in complaining. people are doing their best.
as ingerasu said, all you can do is wait. not all questions have straight answers.. and believe it or not we don't spend 24 hours in front of the computer waiting for you to have a problem.
please stop flooding the Q&A section with new threads. it is pointless.
there's no point in further discussion. if anyone knows the answer to your problem, you will get it. but there are NO promises.
I will close this thread. refer all further questions about this to the About XDA-Developers section.

You got your 1st reply within 44 minutes, there are 1440 minutes in a day, so you are a factor 32+ off..

Your demanding tone required another approach.
If you don't like the reply of a mod: PM him/her, don't start provoking by opening yet another complaining thread..

Yups, that happens, we all have questions and sometimes there are no answers. Sometimes the answers have been given countless times.
But keep in mind this is a development Forum, it's not a helpdesk, it is a place where developers gather (all volunteers). We al had to learn, we all had to search, I personally have read thousands of threads, and still don't know everything, so I am still learning (most of us are).
If there is no answer we try to find a solution ourselves.
That is what I meant with being pro-active instead of complaining.

i've been at this for weeks and i can't get an answer or help from anyone.
i want to use the native voip in wm6.1; i'm using the alltel wm6.1 for the 700wx, which, btw is a fantastic build. are the voip components removed? if so Y. i would really like to have better call quality on voip and i don't want to use skype. can i get a kitchen from a different phone and add the components to ravens kitchen? i don't know how to add the components to his kitchen.
someone with experience please help me; i've been at this for a few weeks and read all i can read and nothing works. i'm about to pop a blood vessel.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, don't post your question in 10 different places.
now, we generally don't deal with non-HTC devices, i hope someone grants you with an answer.
anybody want to take a stab at this?

well thanks for responding; ya gotta love voip.
I expect that you don't post your question in the wrong sections. you're not the only member in Xda-devs and people answer questions according to their free time. You will have to wait like everyone else.
i found my answer, you can close this thread
try to be a little less impatient next time.
I'm 40, have been coding sites since 94 and consider myself a geek...
I realize I am also a noob and as such am humble and afraid to piss off TPTB.
So... here's what you may consider a dumb question but I hope you answer it:
How the hell do you thank someone for their post? I'm not seeing something that looks like a "Thank You" button. Sure, I can post "Thanks" as a quick reply.. but I'm thinking that when you are referring to saying thanks in the funny welcome noobs video and having a thank meter you were not going in the direction of "post a thank you message and make this thread 10000x times longer than it should be"
Thanks,
Chris
well first off make sure that you are logged in
secondly, try to hit 10 posts. you can some more privileges at 10 posts, one of which is the ability to post in the development sections
Thanks. Didn't know that about the dev forums.
When I saw your response, I saw the Thanks button come up so I know I can at least see it and am not just "out of it".
Perhaps a noob forum would be ok to have? I know... I know... you deal with us enough as it is...Just saying...
Thank you again and I look forward to being part of the community (and maybe be able to add something of minor value)
Also the 'Thanks' button will only show if you use the new forum look, (Default), rather than the 'Classic' theme.
I have the same problem.
I have the same problem, guys. However, I feel its really quite silly, in a sense, 'cos I've been on XDA for ages now, but I've never had any reason, nor the ability in some cases (Dev threads) to post. I mean, now, I find myself in a position where I really need some dev help on a thread, but I can't ask them cos of this restriction.
And what option does this leave me with?
1. Spam the first 10 posts!
2. Forget about it.
IMO, this restriction defeats the purpose of a support community.
Unless that isn't the goal of XDA. But then, i'm sure they have their reasons...
Hi!
i have same problem.
i have some issue, and need to tell that to developer, but i can't because i don't have 10 posts :S

PM the dev or make a topic asking for help if you need help, or post around.
i could post to the dev-section&thanking whitout 10 post, but someone has thanked me before that, so mabye this is the trick
probably not the correct place to post this , apparently I dont post in the right places any of the time... as a paying supporter and a future builder Im really disappointed.. ive made multiple post asking for assistance, feedback and how tos and not a single 1 got a reply... so im gonna try 1 more and see if this gets a reply... ive got a question but this forum isnt for questions so if some can pm or hit me up on discord that be great. It's about Chromebook... I wanna leave Google behind...
Maybe some info here
