Messages software - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hello there.
I'm very mych into modifying and styling whatever gadgets I have.
I recently installed SPB mobile shell on my raphael and I like it alot, however, it lacks a SMS handling tool. I've looked around but I seem to only be able to find one software for this "ViTO SMS-Chat" and I didn't like it very much.
Does anyone know of any other SMS handeling software?
The original handling is OK in it's way to show SMS in list and as chats, however, the skin is not to my liking

Super New SMS Software! - Jeyo Mobile Companion

Hi guys!
I've posted before looking for help with backing up and restoring sms messages. The best was SmartPhone Studio - a freeware program which was designed for smartphones but worked reasonably well with XDA.
Well - that program has been tweaked to a T for XDA and works a dream! I got a legit preview - which naturally I'm not free to pass on here, but it really is the biz!
It connects your PC to your XDA through Activesynch - both USB and Bluetooth work really well - making sending and receiving messages much easier if you're at your desk. There are other programs that do this however this is the first program to have easy, swift, and RELIABLE backup and restore options for your texts.
This means that after a full hard-reset you can get your SMS inbox and sent folders back to exactly the way they were. You can also back up the entire folders as text documents in case you prefer to archive them as a continuous document. It is exactly the program I was waiting for and, judging by other posts here I know there'll be many others interested.
It runs long messages together as one continuous message, (though naturally your network will tot up the math!). It has a very nifty interface with your Outlook contacts, and a basic display of system information, memory power etc. The style is very snazzy and professionally-understated.
I have no idea what the price will be but it will be retailed through handango.com I believe. I gather release is within days.
If you like texting, and don't like the idea of losing them after a hard re-set, you'll love Jeyo Mobile Companion.
No, I am not on commission!
Best regards to all
Conor

How do I add a Call History / Missed Calls plugin or item to Today, w/out TouchFlo3D

I've disabled TouchFlo 3D because it was slowing down my HTC Fuze (aka the Touch Pro's ugly stepsister). But I miss the Call History / Missed Calls line on the Home / Today screen. It would show "No missed calls" or "Missed calls: 1 ..." etc.
I've looked in Settings >> Personal >> Today >> Items but can't find anything that will display it. I seem to remember seeing a "Phone" item in there at one time, but don't have it anymore.
I've tried O2 Plus, but that just shows the last call made/received. And I see there are some programs out there that cost $$, but I'm looking for a free solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! (I've searched these forums and Google for an hour and can't find an answer -- maybe I'm just looking for the wrong thing??).

Have you tried SPB phone suite? It should give you what your looking for.

Sorry.....I seem to have overlooked the 'free solution part'....my bad. I think I remember seeing a freeware application that did stuff like this too. I'm looking for it. If I find it.....I'll let you know.
SPB
I looked at SPB Phone Suite but it provides way too much functionality... even when customized down to bare bones.
I'm looking into coding a custom solution myself... but it seems like a simple, free plug-in should be out there somewhere! Something like "Missed Calls: 2 - Voicemails: 1" would be really nice.
Well if anyone finds anything please feel free to let us know!!
EDIT: I looked at SPB Pocket Plus... not Phone Suite. Phone Suite looks pretty good... but again... I'd rather not pay for the simple functionality I'm looking for only to get more than I need or want!

Modifying Windows Mobile

Okay, here is the scoop. I am tired of the unfriendly finger phone that we call windows mobile. I have surfed the internet and found some replacements for some components of windows mobile like the keyboard and etc. What I was wondering if there were some replacement components that replaced certain items in Windows Mobile without relying on the built-in components. For example, is there a way to replace the arcsoft messaging system with a more asthetically pleasing and touch friendly interface. A media player that kinda resembles the Zune software or something similar. Basically, all I am asking is if this possible and if there is such software?
messaging:
VITO SMS Chat
search for it in google.
media:
Nitrogen Player
S2P
you can find them in this forum.
awesome, I already loaded the goodwin apps like sms, funcontacts and such. I also installed S2P which is another good choice(Except browsing through artists is a pain). Now my latest is there a good fast replacement dialer for the HTC Dialer that comes pre-installed. I looked but could find skins and themes that replace the dialer but I want something thats a little more responsive than the HTC. Other than that, everything is shaping up nicely where I dont have to really rely on the Winmo interface besides the dialer, email and some other small apps. In the end, it would be awesome if someone combines all these modifications into a full on suite that covers every aspect of the Winmo device.
use paul de groot's 2d dialer.

SMS applications for Windows Mobile?

Are there any applications to replace the standard Windows Mobile SMS application? I find using the WM SMS app with a virtual keyboard to be cumbersome and the UI is less-than elegant.
I'm certainly not asking for iChat, as I'm not exactly fond of how it looks either, but I do want something that will at least let me easily proof-read my texts that are longer than 2 lines without having to stab the up and down arrow with just the right sensitivity as to not make me lose my place.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to make the SMS experience better for WM 6.1?
Thanks,
Nick
You're not the first to ask.
Whilst unfortunately I cannot aid - what I can tell you is that I know several have asked/tried and i've not found a decent solution.
Manila has a different interface for sms these days but its not without its problems, particularly on a landscape device (at least with the rom i have on my x1)
Non-Threaded sms allows for better proof reading but of course its not threaded.
I'm interested in something aswell, unfortunately any of my programming knowledge is useless for such an application
Have you try "Vito SMS"??

Click to collapse
Looks like an interesting option, thanks for recommending it. Do you have any screenshots of how it handles long messages (multipart SMSs over 160 characters)? I can't install it on my phone right now nor can I find any screenshots showing that functionality on various search engines.
I'm fine with the Windows Mobile 6.1 implementation of threaded SMS; my main problem lies in the presentation of reading back long messages in a tiny, tiny text area that is impossible to scroll just using touch.
Thanks,
Nick
PCM??
Have you looked into Pocket CM yet?

display contacts as buttons

Hi,
Does anyone know of an app that will turn the windows contact manager into a series of buttons like the application menu.
It is still very fiddly looking through the contact list.
regards
Lee
I know what you mean. It's very difficult to select a contact because the font size is really small.
I don't know of any fixes but WM 6.5 will sort this out as it is made to be more finger friendly.
The WM 6.5 update is released in early October.
Man.
I dont really want to re flash my device with 6.5 TBH.
I was just hoping one of the developers on here had already done it. Or perhaps a recomendation of a 3rd party contact manager that does it.
I had a basic touchflow on my orbit 2 and that showed your favorite contacts as buttons. I found that really usefull.
Regards
Lee
Well - as for 3rd party software i think noone does it as good as SPB Mobile shell. although it completely alters your screen - no tabs etc etc

Look for SPB Mobile Shell - they have a tutorial video you can see before deciding.
