EDIT: It went thru the boot process noticeably quicker,set up process was a breeze, I must say this is a very fast HERO ROM. Drizzy Good Job Make. Internal Phone storage is 82MB. This is by far the fastest. I am still keeping an eye out for an update from JAC tho. I will be using this for a lil while.

mine hasnt been lagging that much since setting it up properly..
follow these steps ( if using cyanogens recovery image 1.2 )
wipe
run apps2sd from recoevery image menu
then run fix filesystems
then run update.zip
then run apps2sd from recovery image menu again
then reboot
when phone reboots, give it about a minute after the screen comes on and chose deny on swapper in SU permissions pop up.
then go thru the setup for gmail and android..
after you get logged in to everything, do your settings for backlight and whatever else,
then go to programs and do the swapper settings -
SWAPPER SETTING:
/system/sd/swapfile.swp
i did 20mb / 32mb ( i think thats right )
then reboot ( after Gmail has finished syncing your contacts ) ...
when it comes back up choose always allow on swapper ( in su permission popup )
then do you market ( disable wifi for a sec ) to accept the terms..
then do flickr with wifi off also..
then give it a few seconds, and in about 1 min the phone will be running faster like cupcake

Using Swapper just have a little bit performance improve... When Jump back to Home screen from browser...
Need more than 20s... Every Hero Rom have the same result.

its built like that.
im currently using the lite version.......indeed the sms widget and sms app works!!! im using the setcpu and swapper too but its still quite laggy at the home screens......

I just flashed the latest release and i'm having lots of trouble The rom looks great and i so badly want to use it, but dont knw if i'm jinxed or something :-/ Please help me!!!!
1. The incoming phone call graphics is all messed up. The caller's picture and the caller info gets rendered 20-30 pixels below the top of the notification box and the bottom section gets cut off...
2. All the applications running started to behave crazy after a while. WpTask was active, and this is what happened - The task icons used to appear on the top bar (for example Activesync's icon), but the text used to be missing. When i brought up the context menu by clicking and holding the task, the rollout menu didnt list the name of the task again! I had options like Close, Terminate (with no Task names next to it like it would normally appear), and I couldnt kill the tasks at all! Even after i went into default memory manager of wm6, i still couldnt end the tasks. Only option was a reset....
3. The back button in the phone app comes with the sound, and now that slows it down for some reason

I didnt do anything with the rom before flashing. The only thing though, was i didnt flash the radio file as i have 1.15 and i find it stable. The Tasks problem keeps happening, i had to roll back now to one of your earlier versions which works fine though....

My harddisk of my laptop crashed and currently I'm trying to recover the data first. I feel sorry for you and I hope I can fix it asap.
-I noticed a view things with initflashfiles.dat after I decompiled our own ROM.
-Also PocketCM I'm not realy happy with, I think I'm going to take that out.
-Office I changed for our previous one.
Well... I'm looking into it.

Hi, i have the same problem in phone operation so that i have to use another one. One thing still in dark: when finished uprom progress, i check phone with my Exec close position but it was hanged the screen very dark, have to SR the PDA again working. I don't understand why.

I finally got around to flashing my phone with the Energy ROM with 6.5 on it. The pictures I've seen of 6.5 show a Zune like interface but I don't see it in my version. Were can I find this?

that would be the chrome interface.
Go into Settings/Home Then click on Items then click on Windows Default.
The one thing I wish it had was Zune support!

It should be. Unless the flash went wrong. Just do the same steps just scroll down untill you see Touchflo3d or something like that.

Nope....TouchFlo3D is totall gone as an option.
go to the second tab and then scroll down , its there i promise . i also recommend making sure you have the newest mercury build.

Man...I promise you it isn't there....ha. I go to START, SETTINGS, TODAY, 2ND TAB and it is no longer there. I'll search for that latest ROM you mentioned.

I loaded the latest ROM you suggested...same thing...if I switch to WINDOWS DEFAULT, there is no way back to TouchFlo 3D...it just goes away.
That isn't a big deal if it wasn't for the fact that after that, I began to have display problems (icons and today screen would start melting and smearing together.)
sounds like some bad flashes. IMO try Flashing the stock ROM to your phone and then flashing the new one. BTW just to make sure after the ROM is done flashing you are Pressing the volume down button and the center circle button while soft resetting to have a good solid flash right?

I even loaded this latest Aurora ROM and same thing...if I uncheck TouchFlo3D and go to Windows Default, TF3D will no longer be an option and the Windows Default menus start "smearing" after a while.
And do you have a quick link to a good stock ROM to give your other theory a try?
well this is bizarre
about the smearing i had that happen with one rom soft reset and it stopped and never again
like the poster above said. make sure you hard reset before and after flashing. before isnt as important as after which is necasarry
and are you sure you scrolled down the list of today items on the 2nd tab?

I just flashed a stock rom...reset and am now flashing the current EnergyROM...then I will hard reset again and see if that happens again.
And yeah, I scrolled all the way down in that second tab and TF3D basically removes itself if I uncheck it and go to another theme.

Well, I can go to Windows Default now and go back to touch flow but Windows Default still smears after a few minutes (or this last time, a few seconds!)

Got any NueROM tools installed? NueKBLight did this to mine, you need to go into the theme menu and change it to a different theme, then change it back and you should be good to go. Even though the menu is smearing whatever button should be on the screen are there and in their proper positions so you can still click them.
After searching the forums for so long I finaly found a program that disconnects Idle connections after x-time..
Even with location or auto weather/twitter/stocks turned on..
It's called CommMgrPro (CMP)..
How to:
1) Simply install the cab to your main memory.. and when promped Proces\Service ---> choose proces..
2) When asked to restart the device press yes..
3) after restart a popup apears.. (skizzo) install it to main memory..
4) when CMP asks if it should be integrated with manila say yes..
5) launch CMP from startmenu and press right softkey for menu and choose settings. Once your in settings press the profiles tab and press the right softkey (menu) choose profiles-->add
Name your profile & Description than press right softkey (menu) and hit save..
when asked to create a 24 hours time frame schedule press yess..
6) now you can go and edit your profile if you want.. I just left it the way it was..
7) Back in the settings menu choose the connections tab..
Where it says default: choose your GPRS connenction and check close Idle connections. (set the timer to whatever you like)
for example mine is:
Default: Vodafone live!
close Idle connection: 30 seconds..
8) Hit the left softkey (Close)
9) Back at the main screen you will see huge button (unknown!) Hit it!
when prompted just continue.. tap Profile and choose the profile you just created and choose no time limit..
10) tap left softkey (hide)
your done.. back at the homescreen in Manila in the top left corner you should see your profile name..
If everything is done well the connection should be terminated after x seconds..
And for me it works like a charm!!!
Also there is an other program made by the same dev named bandswitch..
Some people in this thread state that Bandswitch is more than enough to get it done So feel free to try it out..!!

Tried both versions of wmlonglife but non of them work.. keeps on swithing to 2g... and when switching back to 3g it first disconects from 2g taking 10 seconds to connect to 3g..
and worst of all wmlonglife doesnt always work...

I've tried to install, then I've soft reset.
When I go in Control Panel and execute GB-SOFT Tweak.
First of All I can't see correctly the "About" tab.
Second, after I set the timer, I can't close the app.

Mmhh, after the second soft-reset (done by removing the cover and pressing the red button for reset) because my device locked up after using GB-SOFT Tweak, I've tried it again.
Now the app closes normally.
But I can't see it auto-disconnect after the time I've set (1 minute) for test.
Do you configured it in a particular manner?

I think this app might take too much memory for the less usage we need :/
However I've installed it. The problem is that the applications main screen keeps on poping every 10 secondes when I'm using my phone. For me it's unusable. What am I missing ?

I also noticed that the huge battery drain has been halted...
wmlonglife would be fine if it didnt have this much issues.. and also when I quickly want to look up for something it takes too long to switch from 2G to 3G.. sometimes it wont connect at all..
that's why I kept searching for something that didn't have these issues...

Couldn't find a fault anywhere, because some widgets were missing. Like the People/Fave widget, and the camera doesn't work which is really no one's fault. Hopefully we get a working camera soon.

camera works fine
it garbles for a second and the preview is black and white but the picture turns out fine
just loaded it up again to test this out
ROM is perfect but I really miss People/Fav widget...

I'm using from three days..in the first time the phone freeze after some time because not enough free memory, after i turn on compcache in the application voice menu and turn on autokill. Now it's ok.
When i'm using the browser, opening a flash site the browser close itself.
Drain the battery very quickly, from 100% at 8:00am to 53% at now 1:53 PM, gps turned off, only gsm, wifi on connected. No call no sms no nothing only in standby.
Setting only the GSM network, when I restart the phone automatically returns to GSM / UMTS

yea there are issues and yes same release but with minor tweaks
I am looking into hero roms as they have some nice sense/ espresso builds
when i get a litle better at porting we will have one based on a different release D

So if anyone is using jboogie's liquidarc rom, i have a question for you: can anyone succesfully run setcpu and milestone or setvsel and successfully overclock/undervolt and scale the cpu? when i do those and run the scaling script from sorensim's guide on modifying the defy, my home and search button stop working, haptic feedback works on them, but they dont do anything when pressed. I love this rom but i cant use it if those 2 keys dont work. ive wiped before and after restoring the rom, flashed the sbf 3.4.11 first and then restored, and then the boot sbf, and still no progess. any tips?
Is usb debugging enabled or disabled? Not sure if this will help, but worth a try to switch back and forth to see if it helps. I have been using liquidarc for a few weeks now and loving it with no real issues to speak of. I was using milestone (what came with rom), but have since removed and gone back to setvsel and have overclocked/undervolted without any issues. All my buttons work.
You might need to redo the steps, and download the files again as perhaps a file was corrupted during download/installation?

I had to shift to his wonderful Korean rom only because of this issue. Any app I use, end up with nonfunctioning home button and search button.

I change the threshold to 84% and change completely the others.. They're still working. I got this problem too with Pays-Rom 5.1. The home button still had haptic feedback, but didn't function.

jboogie told me not to touch the threshold and it should be fine so idk
i got no problem with LiquidArc and running SetVsel
