i uninstalled it properly thgouth windows remove programs function, so i select okay and another message pops up

Since upgrading to AS 4.5, I can no longer install applications on my htc Touch.
The error message reads:
"Application Manager cannot intall this application on your mobile device due to an error in the setup file. Reinstall and try again"
Happens with all .exe files and I have re-installed AS4.5 several times and tried "Repair".
Don't think it's an issue with programs that weren't designed for WM6 because I can't install the Sprite and spbGPRS programs from the htcTouch CD
I'm running XP Home SP2 and log on with Administrator privilages
The files install OK on my work PC which runs XP2 Prof SP2 with no Administrator privilages.
Any ideas anybody?

Been there, done that
no answers anywhere I can see.
The Microsoft site only applies to specific programs, like the Media Player one you pointed to or Powerpoint.
Only thing I can find is possibly the .ini file doesn't have the correct version notation for instance it states version 1 instead of version 1.0
That still doesn't explain why they all install on the PC at work though.
Both PCs running AS4.5, both running Windows XP
i dont really thing activesycn is good at cleaning up after itself when reinstalled and or uninstalled
i've seen lots of files in it's dir
and lots of registrys it leave behind
a good cause would go and hunt them down and make sure
that a reinstall is really a reinstall
Opera Mini has been working great for me and I love it. For some reason I managed to uninstall Opera Mini 4.1 yesterday, when I tried to install it again Jbed gave me a low memory error... "Not enough memory to install... blah blah". I have lots of free space, over 30 MB free on the device. I can't understand what's going on. I've tried installing more java games and stuff, no problem.
But there is no way I can install OM4.1 again, it gives the same error every time.
I've tried both the jar, and installing from the operamini site which uses the jad installer, same problem. I don't wanna uninstall jbed because I got tons of games and other java apps..
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I get another annoying problem: The archive file (.jar) for Opera Mini cannot be found at its URL. - 19
I still cannot solve this issue after trying many methods...
I wanna hard-reset my device...
have u tried the ol' hard reset?
could you tell me how you have over 30 mb of free ram?

Dude, forgot hard resetting (at least for now). Wouldnt you rather removing the Jbed and reinstalling it, rather than doing a hard reset and completely reinstalling everyall your applications?
If I were you, I'd remove the JBed version and either reinstall that version or another (preferrably the latest). Then try reinstalling the same version of Opera Mini (4.1). You also have the option of installing a different Opera Mini when you go the official website via PIE, if you look real real close. Hope this helps.
I've tried re-installing the whole JBed folder from a backup storage card I made while Opera Mini was working great, still Opera Mini refuses to work, now it doesn't open completely. I tried installing other j2me apps again, they all work fine.
Weird! I guess there is a Jbed problem in the registry... But since it's only Opera mini that has started to act up it makes it even more weird...

Storage space on device, not ram memory. I install almost everything to the storage card... I always try to keep the phone memory as clean as possible.

I've tried to reinstall Jbed, but got the same issue... All of the different versions of Opera Mini have already been tried before I post the previous reply... But TowerBloxx runs properly in Jbed.

Still get failure...
Well I decided to completely uninstall och reinstall jbed and now opera mini works again
A bit annoying that I have to install all games again and start all over but it's worth it after all since I can use Opera Mini 4.1 again.
I have a proble that I cannot solve...
I want to upgrade my opera browser from 8.6 to 9.5
I have the 9.5 cab (build 2392 -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401643 ), but when I try to install it, I receive an error message that is impossible to remove the previous version of Opera, and the installation ends.
The problem is that Opera 8.6 is not listed in the installed applications!!!
Do you know how can I uninstall the old Opera?
I have the last "official" rom, with WM6.1
THANKS!
Hi,
I have installed Opera Mini on the G710 and I cannot start it properly.
It seems that I am not able to make use of the enabled data connection.
Does anybody has Opera installed on his G710/VDA GPS?
Does anybody have a solution?
Maybe your Esmertec JBED is not supported 3D Java applications. Try another version of Esmertec..

Would you please be so kind as to point me to an alternative?
To be honest, I have no real idea what I should exchange...
I found a list of JVM's, but which one do you recommend?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407667
The last version is 20081203.2.1.. Install this one and try again.

Thanks! Very useful hint.
I tried to install the JVM's, but I was not able to.
I ususally copy them to card and install from there, but none of them is visible on the card, although they are definetively there.
Do I need to transfer the file by ActiveSync?
In addition, I am not able to uninstall the old JVM, because it is in ROM. There is no uninstall option or such. Do I need to uninstall first or will the new one automatically be used when it is installed?
Try this opera mini version.

You can't uninstall old version of JBED. Install with 20081203.2.1 version of JBED

I needed to transfer the JBED JVM to the device using ActiveSync. For some reason it had not been read from the SDcard?!
Ok, I successfully installed the JVM and was able to run Opera
The Opera version you recommended was for the Nokie E61 and did not run on the G710. Thus I have chosen another one and this runs perfectly.
Thanks for the help.

I have Samsung B7320 with Windows Mobile 6.1 standard as OS. When I try to install the cab file of Plucker ebook reader it is giving me an error that the application is not meant for this phone. But in many forums I have seen that people have successfully installed plucker on Win mobile 6.1.
Do I have to do any additional setup here?
