I have a Orange SPV M600 IPL 2.10.0001 and SPL 2.10.0001 (that's G4 i think).I want to flash a greek Qtek ROM but i don't know if my phone is CID locked or not.Is there any way to find out if it is CID locked or NOT.And if it is what are my options about upgrading?

Yes! You could have used Search within this forum and would stepped over plenty of answers to this question. Also mentioned in the WIKI. Even 3 days ago someone asked the same question and opened a new thread for that, we gave him the same reply.

G4, and if you haven't touched it then it's definately CID locked and stays CID locked until someone releases a free possibility to have these devices unlocked.
I believe my G4 M600 is both Sim unlocked and CID unlocked, am I incorrect in thinking this as I can install other roms on this list?

No there is no free public available software to CID unlock a G4 yet. so be careful what you tell other people, they could take such assumptions for real and brick their phones.
Your G4 will most probably be not unlocked. Unless you used a paid service online to unlock it, and if you have done that you are sure to know!
Sim unlock != (is not) CID unlocked

I have read many forums on how to unlock the CID, but I am confused. I have read that it has not been done with the Universal, then I read a sticky that has the RUU and says it "bypasses" the CID. Well the biggets problem is that there are no instruccions on it.
Could someone please help me?
Is this why I enter where people offer roms, and have one for each variant? no CID unbloking required?
Please help! I want to start flashing, but I want to be sure of what I am doing.
One more thing, what is the RUU?

Olipro made an RUU that doesnt check CID
For these two reasons you dont need to make rom's for each brand of universal, however i know of at least one cook who does.

Well I did read wiki, but there is nothing clear on it. I will keep studying them.
My SIM is unlocked anyways, does that automaticaly give me the go?
Nope, SIM and CID unlocking are completely different. A SIM Lock makes sure you cant use different vendor's SIMs on your cell phone. The CID Lock makes sure that you cant use different OS on your PDA. Like, if you've got a T-Mobile OS installed that is CID Locked, trying to install O2's WM6 will mess up your PDA!

Was wondering if I needed to unlock my CID before flashing hardSPL? As it stands, my tilt just restarts after selecting 'Yes' to run 'EnterBL.exe' from the hardSPL setup and doesn't flash.
hardspl will cid unlock, and you should post the issue you having in the thread u got your hardspl from

your other post is in the hardspl thread of the hermes forum, and now you are posting in the kaiser forum, do you even know which device you actually have?

Definitive answer:
it's *physically impossible* to CID unlock before installing Hard-SPL because you need it to actually flash the patched radio that does the CID change.
Hard-SPL just ignores the CID, changing it with the unlocker is just for cosmetic reasons... or if you flash back to a stock SPL and want to flash any HTC official update regardless of target device brand.
*sigh* the nub sauce is running thick...that's what I get for having 10+ tabs of this stuff up >.< my appologies there...
I'm using the tilt (8925) so there shouldn't be any reason to go trolling the hermes forums.
So would I want to use the resources here or is there a newer version of hardSPL for my tilt?

I have a Vox which is CID and SIM unlocked thanks to IMEI-Check.
I get Error 270 when I try and Flash a ROM. I do not understand why. The phone is CID unlocked so that means that I do not have to run UPSL? Am I misunderstanding something? What do I need to do to put a new Rom onto this phone. The guides all assume that your phone is not CID unlocked but I cannot find a guide that applies to CID unlocked phones.
Is there anyone out there with an answer?
USPL is the only thing you need to do, SIM Unlocking has nothing to do with flashing! You CID-unlock the Vox by doing USPL
Thanks - Ran UPSL and now have a wm6.6 SP!! I'm still a little confused IMEI-CHECK say there software CID unlocks your phone??? But UPSL still needed?
