Great, this fixes the authentication issue with Exchange server setups.
Can the new fix be included in custom ROMs? Should prove useful to many Magic users.
I tried but it wouldnt let me. Sorry.

after installing this update, i cant start fastboot:
downloading 'boot.img' ... FAILED (remote: not allow)
what can i do?
ps: sorry for my bad english
daBriZa: I'm getting this update flashed your SPL to a perfect one. You can try this instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548218
Not sure if it works, please proceed with caution!
Edit: Also, in case you have a 32B or other questions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4334791&postcount=21 (from the same thread ).
@Wysie
I have a 32A, with the original Firmware-Update from HTC (which is here postet). Which SPL is the best for me?
Wow, I'm mega interested in the exchange fix that's in there. I hope someone can pull out that and cook it into the Cyan 4.0.1 rom for 32As. A separate installation method without reflashing would be cool too.
daBriZa
can u pls upload the files to RS

Hi there, I'm not too sure what advantage one SPL has over the other. I'm using .2005 though .

Is it as simple as backing up /system/app/Mail.pk, and using adb to push the one you attached to the same location?
In the event of replacing the rom with some other rom (currently using Cyan 4.0.1), will the files in /system/app/ be replaced and I would need to do this again?
Thanks!
FYI for anyone wishing they could access exchange, I couldn't get the file to install.
I backed up my Mail.apk (adb pull /system/app/Mail.apk Mail.apk)
Next I removed the current one (adb shell; adb rm /system/app/Mail.apk)
Then I copied the new one over (adb push Mail.apk /system/app/Mail.apk)
Finally I rebooted. After this the "Work Mail" app was gone, bummer.
The next thing I tried was putting the file in /data/app_s. This is where you stick the HTC keyboard apk, so worth a try. (adb push Mail.apk /data/app_s/Mail.apk). It didn't work either.
This is on a Roger's Magic 32a running Cyan 4.0.1.
Bump, anyone get this working? Would be nice to not use this roadsync.
Update ok for my HTC Magic.
My ROM is in French for Switzerland.
Don't forget backup before
i think you should use adb install Mail.apk

I tried first to do a "adb install Mail.apk" and I got this:
Code:
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_ALREADY_EXISTS]
Next I removed Mail.apk with "adb shell rm /system/app/Mail.apk", and then I ran the install again and got this:
Code:
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY
Hi guys!
Anybody that is using that Rom will find out that in some apps (nostly shell ones), the keyboard doesnt work properly.
As i asked in the thread, and didn't get an answer, i tried myself and found a solution:
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/app/HTC_IME.apk
adb push LatinIME.apk /system/app/HTC_IME.apk
adb shell reboot
The functioning HTC_IME.apk can be found here:

I tried this and it messed up the keyboard. I had to re-flash. Is this supposed to fix not having predictive text in sms? Cause that's my problem. Other than that the rom is flawless.
so did anyone else try this?
i love the hero_over rom but i want my predictive text back. otherwise the best rom i have used thus far.
Can someone please direct me to an ADP article or give me direct instructions how to get the new 3.4 Googlemaps version to install? I just rebuild my MT3G with the 1.6 DRC83 base, so that I could update with the new Cyanogen ROM, as well as to try to install the new Googlemaps. Before applying the Cyanogen ROM, I tried to update Googlemaps, but I keep getting the "not signed certificate" error. I really want this version of Googlemaps, and can't find any specific instructions on how to do this.
Any help is MUCH appreciated!

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBLITY FOR THE USE OF THIS ROM, IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE IT THEN YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.
USCC = US Cellular

Stock Sense Froyo
Rom
Always do a backup first!
THIS WILL WIPE DATA
GINGERBREAD AOSP
*Credits for bravoc vendor files go to cyanogenMod*
*Credits for kernel work go to Defer and Kali*
GingerBread Mostly AOSP v1.1 this is as close to AOSP i could get to build the fixes to get it to compile come from cyanogen the credits for the theme got to roberj13 (Blue Energy)
I recommend installing "Blue ADW Theme" from Sean York from the market not needed but completes the blue look and the water-fire wallpaper on the blue energy post
Ubuntu 10.10 Setup script
This should ease the pain of setting up a build environment for building gingerbread, this is based on what it took mee to set up and is not garenteed to work but im offering as some help use at your own risk, this will setup environment and sync the repo of the branch u choose
from a fresh copy of ubuntu 10.10 64-bit run this script
CM Script
AOSP Script
Awesome. Can't wait to try it.

Thanks for your hard work...

I would also love a version with apps2sd! Thanks for working on this. Does anyone know what htc apps are safe to remove? I want to get rid of footprints, stocks, etc. Are those safe to delete?
stock twitter and news were removed from this version forgot to mention that
Those are safe to remove from the stock rom correct?
Mediafire link not working.
apparently media fire is down so im uploading to another site, and yes those are safe to remove, atleast they jave not caused any issues on my phone yet

I ran all this without a single problem on my USCC Desire. Best to back it all up just to be safe.
Code:
cd /system/apps
rm HtcFootprints.apk
rm HtcFootprints.odex
rm com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk
rm com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.odex
rm FriendStream.apk
rm FriendStream.odex
rm com.htc.StockWidget.apk
rm com.htc.StockWidget.odex
rm YouTube.apk
rm myspace.apk
rm Stock.apk
rm Stock.odex
rm Facebook.apk
rm HtcFootprintsWidget.apk
rm HtcFootprintsWidget.odex
rm teeter.apk
rm teeter.odex
rm HtcTwitter.apk
rm HtcTwitter.odex
rm com.htc.TwitterWidget.apk
rm com.htc.TwitterWidget.odex
rm ToneRoom_04.07.2010.apk
rm HtcFacebook.apk
rm HtcFacebook.odex
rm CityID.apk
Then you have a bunch of data files in /data/data you can get rid of.
to the OP: Glad to here you got something going on this device. Looking for a big jump in performance with froyo.
edit: You can back up each app you remove from a remote install of adb by
Code:
adb pull /system/app/filename.apk
adb pull /system/app/filename.odex
noobish ? as android is a new ground for me...
what does one have to do for a backup?
can I use the built in one in bootloader or do i have to do a nandroid backup?
sorry for the noobish ?
byte
ps.. Hey Blkqi, how much memory did u get back from removing those apps?
to do a backup you would need the custom recovery and there is an option in recovery to do a backup. APP2SD rom has been uploaded working on the other as media fire seems to be down

If you boot to recovery, and do a backup from there, you should be set.

I installed the new video-enabled GTalk for Gingerbread on my Galaxy Tab, and of course it didn't work. But my backup of the original didn't work so now I have no GTalk. Is there a way to reinstall this app by itself? If not I'll have to reflash my entire ROM.
thanks

The instructions you followed to install the new version should have created a backup of the older version along the way. It should be on your system under the name Talk1.apk
Try the following:
Code:
adb remount
adb pull /system/app/Talk1.apk
adb push Talk1.apk /system/app/Talk.apk
adb reboot
Alternatively you could do the following (this will take you into Recovery):
Code:
adb reboot recovery
adb shell mv /system/app/Talk1.apk /system/app/Talk.apk
adb reboot
thanks, but
Yes indeed, those would be good instructions if I had actually done the backup. For some reason I either didn't think of it, or didn't bother. Now I'm paying, of course.
Well, I can always just use eBuddy, so I'm not dead in the water.
What ROM are you using?
Check your PM for instructions
Thanks, that worked!
