Streaming and RTSP - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro ROM Development

Anyone know how to get Uni to view stream over RTSP protocol? I've searched and hunted. I've installed Streaming Media, TCPMP, WMP and tried playing around, but to no avail. I know TCPMP doesn't allow RTSP... but does anyone know how to do this?
(I'm currently using Tomal WM6.5 ß2)

nobody uses their Uni to watch TV? I can't believe that!
Anyone?

hi mate
sorry no idea about TV, but if ur talking abt streaming media thru net... then i use mach5 browser it has built in player..... i hope this is wat u asked..

Hi Jonny,
Have you ever tried mobiTV?
I used it in the past and worked great for me.
It is actually a trialware but you can make a trick with the mortscript and it will run forever!
cheers

No. MobiTV shut down in UK in 2007. Can't get for UK or Orange network.
Does anyone use myPlayer or WebTV? What player do people use with these apps?

Strange!
Very sad then. Another similar tool I can remember is Spb TV.

The core player works with streaming, I use it with MyPlayer, and movies, but it is commercial, you can look for a trial
Littleapps

Yes I think I will buy coreplayer, seems to do well. Is there any other program that anybody uses for about the same price that they would recommend over coreplayer?

Is there any way to watch You tube video?

I was trying to open with Opera, IE, WMP. Don't really know which application I need to watch it...I believe there is a simple answer for the question. But, I just don't know it...
So, no1 knows?

Have you read this?
it seems that all the solutions there are for downloading, converting and then watching. But I need it to work on-fly, without downloading, the way we watch it on our PCs.
Now Windows Mobile Phones Can, so why can't we?
I know I'm getting sick of seeing those stupid Verizon adds for the EnV that shows the huge YouTube logo on the screen, and wondering why my WM phone can't. I know my phone can do hundreds, if not thousands of things, that the EnV can't, but as long as there is ONE thing that a non WM phone can do that mine can't, I feel like less of a man. Where do I sign up mfrazz's 12 step program?
and is there any way to watch p2p tv on ppc like on pc?
I just intalled the newest version on Opera 8.65... its in beta right now... BUT IT PLAYS YOUTUBE videos!!!! WooHoo!!!

does anyone know how to format the window so that I can watch the whole video (on youtube) using Opera?
Orb Lets You Play YouTube on Your PPC
I use a program called Orb to play YouTube on my PPC. It loads on your home PC, then you use any PPC browser to access it. It's pretty dang sweet. I have had hardly any problems with it.
orb.com
Well, there are a lot of ways to watch you tube video offline on your PPC. For example, you can just download a youtube video using youtube grabber on your PC then convert it to avi using some endcoder, and then watch it with TCMP or Core PLayer.
However, the main point of the thread is to get a way of watching youtube video on-fly being online with you PPC.
So, far the best way of doing that is using new Opera. However, it's not a perfect way
orb is the way to go. orb does it on the fly also. check it out.

It really is. The only problem I found about it is that the PC must always run the application and be online to be able to watch video from PPC, which is sometimes a problem for me. The rest is awsome.
the other nice thing is you can also view your webcam anytime also. I use it for sucurity purposes . very nice feature.

I think downloads are the only way to watch you tube videos. Try this site: mymobileclips.com, free registration, specify the format you want your videos, and you can get Google, Myspace, Ifilm, Dailymotion, Break, Metacafe, too.
I personally believe ORB is by fair the best thing to cross streaming\PPC lines...I have absolutely no problem watching youtube on my PPC using orb, and talk about an iPhone?? Who needs that when you have an 250 gig hdd with movies, music, pictures, and then are able to watch your local cable service thats at home while your out and about on a lunch break, and then to be able to access your PC and browse and download files from anywhere............ORB IS GOD when it comes to media and mobile devices....not to mention to gain access on my xbox 360 using orb as well without switching my external from device to device, and not using the lame media center....orbs great....just thought id mention it.

I've been trying orb and im a bit new to it. But from my understanding, orb will only work if you pre-selected the videos on your PC first right?
Is there any way to watch ANY youtube video? For example if you searched for one and want to watch it, you cant use the standard browser to see it. How does orb come into play for watching videos on demand? Will it only allow us to see videos that we have pre-added on our pc with the orb plugin?

Orb defines videos, pics, audio, files, etc defined in a specifc folder....when you setup orb it then scans the folders to save the content locations onto the orb server, so what ever you put in a specified folder, orb will pull it in for you.
With youtube, just download the plugin on orbs website for IE, install.....then login into orb on your ppc.....go to videos....then it comes up with an search for youtube....google...yahoo...etc, type in what you want to search, it then show it infront of you, click what you want to watch, then click play stream.
No pre-added video for youtube, just an search as if you were at your desktop.

ORB, streaming video help?

OK, I need help streaming video on my tilt. I installed Dutty’s latest rom, the touch v 1 or what ever. Great rom. However, I cant seem to get streaming video to work. Its kind of like it tried to download the files instead of opening them. Everytime I click on a link in order (when using .asx mode) it says “a file with the name already exists, do you want to replace it? Yes or no”. I hit yes, and it launches a program called TCPMP. Now, 1 day ago, I had streaming working. Streaming took place in duttys customer windows media player using port 80. the problem with this new program is it doesn’t let you select a port, and as soon as it launches it gives the error “file not found! –web \mydocuments\stream.wmwebasx” Anyone have any Idea how I can get streaming video working again on my tilt?
I even tried realplayer, and that doesn’t work either. .3gp goes to HTC’s streaming program, but again, that doesn’t work either. Im really at a loss 
........
I use xda live and have installed tcpmp for streaming purposes myself. I use it with orb and it works perfect. You just need to make sure you have all the codecs. and supposedly it works better with tcpmp .72 version not .81..not sure which dutty used.

Does Anybody Have VLC for Mobile?

Hi all, has anybody got the installer for VLC windows mobile?
I had it installed on my wizard and it worked great, but have recently switched to the HTC Panda, and upon searching for vlc mobile, i have found that development on it has stopped and the download links are gone o.0
If anyone has a link or a copy of this then it would be greatly appreciated, I do have all of the fiels for VLC i believe on a memory card, however just runnig that doesnt work, i figure due to the codecs or something
well then, after that i just found it with ease, i feel kinda stoopid now
anyhow, found it on the sourceforge
http://sourceforge.net/projects/vlcpocketpc/
works great for playing all types of media
I use VLC player on my computer and I love it. TCMP makes a version for your computer as well.

Always follow my articles - I've mentioned this title in my Radio Streaming Bible.
In general, I don't recommend it at all - CorePlayer / TCPMP are far better / more optimized. It's very rarely that you'll find the WM version of VLC better.
well ...tcpmp for ppc = vlc for pc
i use it and its fantastic.
uses less memory and plays video without jerks even if ripped at 1.5 mbps (on a magician)

Streaming videos on HTC Fuze

Good Evening,
I recently seen an advertisement for www.joost.com, where you can stream some full length movies to a mobile phone. It was tested with an AT&T Tilt using skyfire. Well...I downloaded skyfire, just to find out there is no support for vga screens just yet.
Are there any mobile browsers that will allow streaming video, or maybe a plugin for opera mobile??
Thanks gang!
Two side notes,
I had heard Opera was capable of playing music built into a myspace page, etc with an included flash player. Mine does not however, am I missing anything?
I had also heard the Fuze was supposed to have a dedicated You-tube application. I also have not found this. Again, am I missing something?
Thanks!

skyfire does work on vga it just messes up when you rotate the screen so start it in wichever direction u want the screen to be
use orb you can stream any media from your computer to your phone its free
and you can download the youtube app search on here
Skyfire will load, but how would I manage to get to a website without an OSB or the physical keyboard(which would mess up the screen)
I only want it for that one website...opera is fine for everything else
As soon as i enter in a website with the osd...it messes up the screen.
Any ideas?

Is it possible to use Skyfire to watch iPlayer material?

Sorry if this is an idiot newbie question but I'm curious: can one use Skyfire to watch flash videos from the desktop-PC version of BBC iPlayer? I've tried using Pocket Internet Explorer, and that initially looks like it's going to work - the counter starts to tick over as if the video were playing - but there's no actual picture. Using Skyfire it complains that I'm trying to access iPlayer from a non-UK site (presumably because the Skyfire proxy server is outside the UK) - is there any way around this?
And yes, I know all about using myplayer and the user-agent hack in Opera. It's specifically desktop (rather than mobile) iPlayer material I'm interested in.
yes u can play iplayer from skyfire but dont like to watch in there tho
The answer you want is 'yes', so long as you are in the uk, since Skyfire now uses localised proxy servers. Video quality isn't all that great in Skyfire but I watched a whole episode of BBC Click without any major issues.
myPlayer does a very good job of sorting out iPlayer streams for you; it can also download higher quality videos.
