Hi guys!
I own an Xda II and I'm thinking of upgrading it to WM 2005.
After having a look around I'm a bit confused as I'm sure are a lot of other people because there's so many different versions of WM5 to choose from on this forum that I don't know which one to go for.
Could someone please recommend the best and most stable version of WM5?

well, its same with me a long time ago..
don't worry guys.. after several looking in this page, there's a several rom for WM2005 which is :
1. Helmi AKU3.5
2. C_Shekhar Rom AKU 3.50C (the newest rom)
3. other (like virgy, etc)
In my Opinion, you should try c_shekhar rom. its very nice looking (crossbow theme), more stable, quite fast..
hope you find the suitable rom.

I was reluctant to respond to this but some how I find myself compiled to post my comment. I have XDA2 and I am using llbasha rom. All the roms have the same core structure except of adding/removing some freebies and here is my latest version that has been tested and verified by independent users (special thanks to twistedconnections and maslowyk). Important Note:
WlanMgr does not work but does not effect the WiFi functions and I am using this rom with Spectec SDW-821 (WLAN 802.11b/g) without problem. I have also been informed that Ambicom SDIO card works fine as well.
As always, flash at your own risk...any un-official rom is released for testing.
Always clean/embty your old ramdisk before burning new rom.

Go for llbasha's rom. I have been using it since the first version that was release by him. Fast and stable.

tofclock new ROM is great.. but i found out there is no MMS funtion..
how can enabled the MMS function in Tofclock ROM?? and i already installed old ArcsoftMMS.cab (v.2.0).. and i can setting the MMS but still no MMS function..ermm..
sorry for poor english..
p/s: where can i find ArcMMS.cab for new version.. **NooBie**

Welcome , I'd strongly recommend not to try that! The XdaIIi is a completely different device altogether! Go the the Alpine Forum and see if you can find anything there. Here's the link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=242428
A big thanks to Alain18 from french forum qtek forum pro to give the solution for a working rom wm6.1 .The method is to modify the pagepool with 32 Mo and put the radio rom 1.65.14.06 .Now no,freeze,everything work good and iGO8 works too with HTC Home !

but no use
2 in this ROM the Input mobe is chenged to Keybord and Letter Recog..
how can i get Handwriting input method ( Transcript ) on full screen
3 BlueTooth Cant recive any file from my Nokia E 50 Phone

Hi whoisfree, welcome to forum.
As your question seems ROM specific - you would normally post a reply in that thread (in your case Tomal's - v8.2: WM6.1 Pro)
Have you looked through that thread for answers? In Tomal's initial post he says if you install black theme, it's non-reversable.
Also Tomal has done newer ROMs since then, which may be better to try out before worrying about things that aren't working (some like 8.5, some 8.9). There are also other ROM builders who will give you different stuff in their ROM (thingonaspring, luca15thebig, xplode and others).

if you downlaod a theme, you have to put the .tsk theme into the /windows foldes
and for bluetooth open Beam, and see is the box checked on unchecked

Brother i did upgraded already with vista now want to downgrade in Xp
You can try install ActiveSync on Vista,upgrade is dependent on its driver.

I am using O2 xda exec and i want to update it from wm5 to wm6.1 , but i am totally confused as i am new to this device . i have read most of the topics on this forum and also the wiki but half of the links dont work now . i have no idea how to update but i really want to update it and am also scared what if i brick it .. please can you guys help me out here.. the configuration is given below.. other than that i live in asia so can i use Tomal v8.5?? would it support my network?? Please do tell me step by step.

im using the same Tomal's V8.9 and Shadow_Nexus's 21056 alternatively.but im facing an annoying problem.im facing an unexpected sudden turn off.the only way is to get my unversal booting is to connect it to my comp via usb and then start it.
