Searching for someone who didnt delete his bootscreen

Hi,
Since the new method does not remove the Bootscreen anymore (the SE logo flying in) there should be some people who still have it.
Could you please go to /etc/semc/startupshow, copy the files to your SD and upload them here?
Maybe a custom bootscreen would be possible.
Thanks :=)

Evo 4G Custom Splash Screen and Boot Animation

HI All, this is my first post and I made my first boot animation and splash page for Evo 4G.
hope you all like it, Enjoy!
***ROOT ONLY***
please make backup of phone before replaces files.
I am not responsible for any damage to your phone.
please follow instructions.
BOOTANIMATION: the file name is hTC_bootanimation.zip, you place this in your sdcard / data / local /
Every rom has it's own boot animation, so whatever the name of the .zip file is in that folder, change the downloaded file to that exact name.
SPLASH SCREEN: the file name is PC36IMG.zip, place this in the root of your sdcard, and reboot to bootloader (not recovery). Once in bootloader, press power button, and the bootloader will load the .zip file. Then press power button again for yes.
then reboot, and hope you like it.
Remember, I'm new to this, If I am not clear on anything, please let me know.

[Q] Custom Boot Animations and Boot Audio - Where

Ok i have a US Cellular Galaxy S3 and i want a custom boot animation, and boot audio, currently running LiquidSmooth beta2. i can replace the boot animation but nothing ive tried allows me to use a custom boot audio file, can anyone tell me where the file needs to go, what file name / format it needs to be? is there something else that needs to be done in order to get it to work properly?

on aosp roms look in system/media folder for the bootanimation.zip. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I'm thinking the bootaudio goes there also. And most likely you will have to add the line for the boot audio to the build.prop and I'm sure the kernel will have to support it.
Like I said someone correct me if I'm wrong about the boot audio.
Good luck
Oh and the formats will be bootanimation.zip and bootaudio.mp3 or bootaudio.ogg. try both

[Completed] How To Change A Nadroid Backup Boot image ?

Hallo, I've Been Playing With My GT-S5301 Boot Animations & It's Easy To Change It. Now, I Made An CWM Backup With Rom Manager Yesterday & But I Forgot That The BootAnimation On It was Faulty, So Now When I Restore That Backup I Have An Boot Loop Issue. I Want To Know If It Is Possble To CHANGE The BootAnimation Inside The Nandroid Backup Folder & If Yes, Can You Tell Me How Please.
Hi,
There are a few ways such as using android kitchen to disassemble the system.img but this depends on the back up format (probably not .img unless an old recovery)
But the easiest way I can think of is to restore ROM and then within recovery use adb to push a working bootanimation to /system and then fix permissions.
But the purpose of xda-assist is not to be a help thread rather to point you in the right direction. So if you have any further questions please post in the general q&a forum found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
Either I or another helpful member will coach you through this if you aren't able to search out the answer yourself.
Best of luck!

Move it to the [Q&A] section. You'll never get a response here. Ask a moderator.
Why don't you just flash, root and then remove unnecessary files?
Wrong section!
Btw what program you use to modify it?
If you are using windows:
use ext4 unpacker and ext2explore to modify your system.img
I dint want to root my device.
I use linux to unpack edit the contents and then make the file again. But in this lollipop img i see that its all folders inside S/apps rather than just apks as it was before. So i did remove the folders in which some had lib folder inside. On flashing the new image it goes into bootloops . Anyway to handle this
