I cant find the windows folder with activesync :O - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hello. Its the first time i write here. I wonder why I can´t find my windows folder on my htc touch pro when I connect my phone to my computer with activesync. I can find it on my phone, but not on the computer as I said

If you are using Windows Explorer try Tools > Folder Options > View and unhide everything that is hidden.

i think activesync also goes by repllog (or something to that effect) so use either windows explorer or total commander. And search either activesync OR repllog.
good luck

I have tried both solutions, but none of them works :S Anyone has another idea?

install total commander if you haven't got it in the pc version
install the total commander plugin called WinCE
connect your pda to activesync
when connected
click \ on total commander it have a network kinda icon this
leads the way to your plugins
click the winCE plugin
and navigate to the pda's windows dir
works like a charm

YAY! It works

awww
:S i can find the windows folder and that now, but when i try to move the files from the computer (touch flo 3d skins) it says "fel när filen skulle skickas" which means "error while the file was going to be moved" and then the file name under that. Does anybody know how i can move it to the phone? :S

in total commander you just navigate to the windows folder go to properties and uncheck the system mark.

Im not sure if i press the "right" properties button, but it has the hotkey alt+enter. When i press on it it only tells me about the folder and how much space that is used on it. (i selected the windows folder and pressed alt+enter)

In windows 7 you just need to unhide system files and folders. Tools/Folder options/view.

Cannot Access Windows Directory

For a few days now I have been unable to access the Windows directory of my Vox via my PC. I have tried turning 'Show hidden files and folders' on but ot no avail.
If I use the File Explorer on my phone then I can see it just fine, however not on my PC.
Does anybody know what may be causing this problem?
On your pc,
go to folder options and uncheck Hide protected operating sysytem files, it is bellow options you have set.
Good luck.
Mancom
Ahh thanks very much. For some reason Windows had turned this back on again and I hadn't noticed.

You can just tap and hold on it in File Explorer and tap "Copy" then in File Explorer go to My Device --> Windows --> Start Menu --> Programs and paste it in there.
the exe file has to be installed through activesync.
Not necessarily. Sometimes an app is downloaded as an EXE and you run it on your PC and it installs via ActiveSync. But sometimes you download an EXE and it is supposed to run on the phone.
If you use the file explorer to make a shortcut to the exe rather than copying the exe, you don't have to copy any dependencies across.

I tried this first before posting this topic, and after reading some instructions, learnt that the only way to get it to appear in the Programs list is to install it via Activesync.
note: i recall that some one was able to extract the cab file (from exe files needing to be installed via activesync) from the installation so that future installs can be achieved without activesync.

Really simple question

I'm trying to create a program for windows mobile 2003/5.0/6.0 smartphone but I can't for the life of find the File Explorer. I can in 6.0 but where is it in 5.0 or 2003. Please no links to google or "jfgi" responses, I wouldn't be asking if I had yielded any success.
Thanks in advance
Have you tried looking into Total Commander. It is a 3rd party app and is a very good File Explorer for the PPC, I highly recommend it. As for the stock one, it should just be in the program folder, no?
Hope this helps.
PS If you Google Total Commander for Pocket PC, be sure to download and install the PPC version NOT the desktop version.
Nol. It isn't. I can't find the stock file explorer to save my life. Did 5.0/2003 not come with one? Am I so stupid that it's right in front of my face?
on my Jamin beofre i flashed 6.1 rom it had 5.0. I am sure the iexplore.exe was in the windows folder, 99% sure it should be there. I dont have it anymore so i can t check for you, but i have a reasonable memory
Not the internet explorer. File explorer. Or file manager. Either one. Nowhere to be found.

Lol, Ironically, he would need to search the Windows Folder from File Manager, which he doesn't have apparently
Like I suggested, download and install Total Commander. And do it with a .msi over the Activesync cable, because you won't be able to install a .cab from the storage card without a File Explorer. From there, you can then look in File Manager for its own launch program.

THANK YOU. Seriously, thank you. I wasn't sure if it didn't have a file explorer of I was just retarded. Thanks for clearing that up though.

Try , in Total Commander, to press and hold the file, in the menu press properties, then uncheck the read only box by clicking it twice.
See if that does it for you.
I unchecked first and tried but failed.
because it automatically checked(Read Only).
Any other solution.
Which dll files are you trying to move and what for?
File Name:"shellresapps.dll"
dont move them. you can copy anything, but you can't move file in use (such as that system file)
PS: becareful editing that file and be prepared for a hard reset if you screw it up
I can't copy also.
I was curious to see if I could copy shellresapps.dll with Resco File Explorer but I also get an error that it can't be copied .-
"shellresapps.dll" is the system file, you can't copy it to /windows folder, another way, first of all install SdkCerts.cab and make a CAB file with your "shellresapps.dll" and install to your device, becarefull, by replace system file your ppc maynot be restart and you have to HR.

Missing windows explorer

I lost my old fuze when traveling overseas, and just got a replacement.
I updated the software ROM to the current HTC release 5/9/09
Now windows file explorer is not in the program files menu under start?
I cant even get to my storage card to install .cab files?
Any suggestions?
I would install total commander from the computer as an exe file which use activesync to install the cab file then I would go the
\windows\start bar\programs and make a shortcut to exeplore which should be located in
\windows
I have always opened cabs directly on my phone from my SD card, without exploder I feel helpless? I am not seeing how to get win device center to install the .cab file
i got it installed.. thanks
