Hey Guys, I'd really appreciate if someone can help me out with this situation.
I had wm5 and voice command, used Hidesim cab to hide contacts on sim and when i used voice command it didn't showed any contacts from SIM before. Now i installed Crossbow Reloaded 1.7 and i use HideSIm.cab and using voice command it says that it found two contacts. example. Call Bob on voice command says two phone #s found call this bob if you say no it reads it off sim. In WM5 it never use to read contacts of sim. So if someone can tell me a way so voice commander don't read contacts of SIM it would be great. My Contacts only shows Contacts from Phone not SIM.
Guess all hate voice command by microsoft. eh...

So what are my options where I do not have to record for each contact?
backup your sim on to your computer and then erase it off your sim-card.

I just tried to duplicate this and got the following...
When I said, "Call Joe Smith" and that person is on both sim card and contacts it will say, "Showing two (or more) found, call this Joe Smith?"
If I said no, it then put me into contacts and asked, "call Joe Smith at home or mobile?" So this is not a impossible situation but definitely a pain in the ass.
However, you are right, this is definitely something weird with WM6. I just never noticed it before. I actually occasionally switch phones so deleting #;s off the SIM really isn't an option for me.
Let's see what the real geniuses can figure out.

I am having this same problem on AT&T Tilt. SIM contacts are hidden, don't show in Contacts, but when I say "Call xxx", Voice Command says "Showing 2 Found" (says it so quickly that it took me dozens of listens to figure out what was being said - sounded like "Shelly2Fawn" or some other language when I first heard it.
I know I can delete all contacts on SIM and this issue will go away, but I'd like to have contacts on SIM, because I have a cheap backup phone that I want to be able to use PRN, e.g. go to beach, or in adverse weather situation.
I am running MS voice command 1.6.19214 - it installed with an error but at the end said that it was successful. Tried hard resetting and same thing.
Now for the actual problem...
It works most of the time ... but on some occasions the audio through the loudspeaker does not sound after MS voice command has said something until the phone has been restarted. Also sometimes when answering a call it says "call from Someone on Mobile Phone" repeadatly after answering the call (even while I am on the call which is very anoying) until i restart.
Has anyone experienced either of these issues or know how to fix them?
Thanks in advance,
Kris Bennett
I have experienced the same issue as well. From what I have read, Sprint is aware of the issue with Voice Command and will be putting out an updated soon. Sorry I don't have the answer, but at least you know you're not alone.
MSVC works great through BT headset on my tilt2 (Energy ROM 21885 december 31 sense 2.5), with the exception of using it to dial. I figured out why: When I would activate MSVC and tell it to say "call home" the command is recognized, and I am askd for a confirmation. So far so good... The troube is that when i answer "yes" , MSVC brings up the MS dialer NOT the HTC dialer, so it tries to dial but never connects to the radio to dial and just goes back to the sense 2.5 home screen. Testing MSVC with other commands, such as open <program> confirms this, since they do work. This occurs whether i initiate MSVC through the headset or through the talk button on the phone
Anyone have any clue how to get MSVC to bring up the HTC dialer when using it through bluetooth headset? MSVC works fine when i am not in handsfree mode.

it seems that the solution has to do with timing. if I wait a acouple of seconds before answering the confirmation of dialing the contact, the software has enough time to open up the contact database and then when i answer in the affirmative to redirect to the dialer. So the key is to wait a couple of seconds before answering yes or not the confirmation prompt
Also, try using, "correct", instead of, "yes". My Verizon Ozone seems to recognize it much easier, especially in a high noise environment. Maybe 'cause it's a longer word?

hi there. it is not an issue of the software not recognizing that i said es, or even correct, it is an aiiuse of that the software needs time to be able to pass the call to the HTC dialer, so if i just wait a couple of seconds and then say correct, it works. no lag issue with the sofwate when not using blue tooth though , so maybe there is a setting to solve that
AT&Ts website says that it supports voice dialing. The Samsung Galaxy S website says that there should be a Voice Command app. Where is it? I don't see it anywhere! I paried up my bluetooth headset and when I push the button (which on my last phone would activate Voice Dial) nothing happens.
Anyone??
Voice dialing via bluetooth on Android 2.1 doesn't work.
Android 2.2 fixes it (Nexus One FTW!), who knows when Captivate will get the update.
Tap and hold the Search button to activate voice search.
There should be an app called Voice Dialing. Use that to voice dial.

I beg to differ, I just figured this out. You can say "call -contact name-" and it dials the number.

Don't know what magic you're doing, but when I do that it just does a google search for "call [contact name]"
My Captivate does the same thing, I have tried to voice dial and all it does is google search. Everyone keeps saying there is an app but there isn't. It is pissing me off, I downloaded apps and none of them work. This really really bites.
I will be watching this thread anxiously.
But I may be making progress! I have purchased VLingo, and it looks like it may end up working like Microsoft Voice Command.
I just did a "Call <First/Last Name> on Mobile, and it dialed".
I'll post back as I progress. This is exactly what I"m looking for.

I'm not sure either then. I simply hold the search button at the bottom-right of the phone, it prompts for voice, then i simply say "call XXXXXXX" and it dials. I do have to say the entire contact name, though, both first and last name, exactly how it appears in the list. But it works
I just tried it and it worked for me too. FAST.
What is missing is a validation step, like MS Voice command offers. It will never understand you correctly all the time.
No Voice Dial for Me Too!
I don't seem to have the ability to voice dial either.
Speaking a contact's name into the Google utility only pulls up a Google search.
I would be interested to know if the people that are having similar problems have their phones rooted or not.
I am rooted.
I am rooted, as of this morning, and it was just an hour or so when I realized I could do it with Google search and didn't need Vlingo

I could do it before I was rooted
When I use voice dial I have to say contact name and either mobile or home or work to get it to work right.
How is Voice Dial Activated?
How, exactly, are successful users activating Voice Dial?
Is it just by pressing the microphone button on the Google search bar on the home screen? Or is there supposed to be a dedicated "Voice Dial" app?
Also, where are the settings located to configure voice dial?
I was able to get it work. I use the google search widget and click the microphone then speak. BUT, it only finds contacts that are from Google. If I try to call any of my Exchange contacts it does a google lookup, but if it is a contact from google sync (gmail/voice) it works fine.
I can't get mine to work. Been trying it for the past two days.
The google search voice command isn't voice dialing for me. I have no idea what is going on. HELP ME lol
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
I can't wait for a custom ROM to fix all the problems including this.
We've Been Scammed!!!
AT&T has scammed us!
I chatted online today with ATT support and the person said that I would have to pay monthly for their voice dial service. After telling her, politely, where to stick her voice dial service, she suggested that I contact Samsung.
After 45 mins, and two support people later, it was finally explained to me that the Captivate is the only version of the Galaxy S that does NOT come equipped with the Voice Command software and that I would have to purchase a third party app from the Market in order to get that capability.
So what it looks like to me is that ATT had the voice command function removed on the Captivate so they could push their own voice dial plan for $4.99 per month.
BASTERDS!!!
I can't wait for the ROMs to start rolling out so I can exact my revenge!

you have to say the full name thats in the address book for it to immediately dial as well. if you dont it shows the "did you mean" box and you can choose from there.
I installed Vlingo from Marketplace. Works like a charm. The programs from Marketplace are all pretty cheap compared to WindowsMobile.
My voice dial works. however I have to enunciate very clearly and quickly.
"call Contact Name" brings me to the Contact's page to select which number to dial.
"call Contact Name mobile" dials immediately.
There is even a confirmation feature for my phone where it gives a pop up with my Contact's picture with a ring slowly rotating around it with an option to "dial" or "cancel" doing nothing until the ring completes it's 360 degree rotation will default to dialing, pressing dial will dial immediately, and cancel will cancel the command.
My firmware version is 2.1-update1

HI,
I am having difficulty getting my OPO stock to voice dial. I say "Call Peter Jones", the phone searches, finds Peter Jones and says "calling Peter Jones.." then it sits on the dialer screen with Peter's number waiting on me to press the call button. Is there anyway of getting it go ahead and dial the number?
