I just want to be able to watch Sky Sports on my HTC Tytn, but for the life of me I can't find either a version of 't-zones; or 'web'n'walk' that has any links to it for me to follow:

There are two ways to access Mobile TV on your phone
Accessing Mobile TV through web'n'walk:
Open up the web'n'walk homepage from the main menu and select the Mobile TV tab at the top of the page
You will then be taken through to a page with three Mobile TV options including T-Mobile TV and Sky Mobile TV. Click on the option you want
Accessing Mobile TV through t-zones:

All I can think is that the wap sites recognise my device as not being a mobile, so direct me to the full version, so I can't find the right links??
Anyone know what's going on and how I can get both my sanity back and Skysports???
UPDATE - I've tried the web'n'walk demo on the t-mobile website, with a Nokia N95 you get this:
http://surf.yospace.com/tmobile/wnw/nokian95/
But with the MDA Compact, you don't get the TV or Games tab at the top of the screen.
Is there a way of tricking t-mobile into thinking I'm a phone? I can't imagine that it's because my Vario II can't use the content!
I had this problem after flashing a new rom.
Anyway, the answer to your problem is:
http://10.111.189.31
Type that into you web browser. Sky sports is really good
work for me just t-mobile-favourites.co.uk
im using t-mobile beta rom
t-mobile-favourites.co.uk doesn't work, probably something in the t-mobile ROM that lets it work. I'm using Black Satin. If you're at all registry-savy, perhaps you could have a look through the registry for any T-Mobile keys?
No probs if you can't as that IP address does work.
Thanks guys.
Actually, back-track, that ip address works for the t-mobile live tv, the 3.50 subscription, but not the Sky Sports subscription that's 5.00 a month.
Does anyone have the ip address for that?
cheers.
http://10.111.189.31/servlet/do=
http://10.111.189.31/servlet/download?p=3Dwnw
thats mine
I get a 404 Not Found error from that one - the url doesn't look complete?
cheers for the edit, but the link still just goes to the t-mobile 3.50 subscription page, not the page that lets you pay 5.00 to watch the Sky Sports channels.
Help!!!
well if i do the £5 1 ill hav to just for going to the page
http://t-mobile-favourites.co.uk/en/mobiletv.jsp
you can choose on thet page
That link just comes up with a page not found error for me.
My head hurts! Why can't these things just work??
I've just tried http://t-mobile.sky.com and thats told me that my handset isn't compatible with Sky Mobile TV! More lies!

sorry try

I only actually got the TV application to work by using either a WM5 Rom, or the T-Mobile Test Rom, by going to the tmobile home page, the option for TV is not in the menu....
Ha ha ha, that gives me the same "Your handset isn't compatible" error page.
Am beginning to think that they don't want my money!!
What ROM are you running and is there any specific references to T-Mobile in your registry? I think I'm missing something that will stop the website identifying my phone the way it is at the moment!
Is there any chance one of you that has it working could export the registry to a file and email it to me so I can have a look at it?
I am using the t-mobile test rom. Before I was using one f the black roms. When it wasn't working for me, I just emailed t-mobile and asked them for the link and they emailed it back to me
What link was that, do you remember it off the top of your head and did you get it to work with the Black ROM?
Sorry it was the link I previously posted. This allowed me to access the tv..
However, after flashing the test rom, the t.v was already set up via web n walk and I was able to then choose Sky.
I think the easiest thing to do, if you really want sky sports is to flash the test rom.
I'm sure you can understand why I don't really want to do that for the sake of a few registry settings, so I think I'll try and find a fix first - I've missed all the weekends football now anyway!
My extended rom contains all the stuff from my WM5 T-Mobile ROM still, so the registry settings I'm after may well be in there.
I have a cab that looks likely, PP_pIESetting_TMUK_050906.cab should I just give this a whirl?
Do you have a similar file in the ext ROM on your device?
Does anyone have a copy of the latest version of the MSN Weather widget in .widget, .wgt, or .cab format?
Before you jump down my throat and tell me to use the Search function... I have searched for hours and have come up empty handed. I have found many of the earlier versions, but none after version 1.1. The newest versions work with touch scrolling and have different features than the early versions.
I'm using a ROM that doesn't have it natively so I wanted to install it indepentantly. I like it better than any commercial or free weather app out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That's actually the one I have been using. It doesn't support finger scrolling.
I have been looking for this too. It is on the Marketplace website but you have to download it via the Marketplace app. I tried this but it does not show up via the app!
I suspect this is a regional limitation or something. Perhaps somebody else will have more success and post a cab for us?
Thanks.
Do you have a numerical version of the widget that you are looking for? (not just "higher than 1.1")

I was able to find it on the WM Marketplace. The latest version is 1.7. I couldn't find it using the Markeplace application on my phone, but I got it by going HERE. I had to "purchase" it there (it's free btw) then log into my phone's Marketplace app to actually download it.
Even though it's directly from the Marketplace, it does not have the finger scrolling feature that I'm looking for. I was using JJBlaster's ROMs on my old Kaiser and the MSN Weather widget he included was able to scroll up and down using your finger.
Could someone else download it and put the version 1.7 widget in a CAB package? It's way easier to include a CAB in a new ROM flash's UC than to jump through all the hoops Marketplace makes you go through to get it. And also, could somebody somehow enable finger scrolling? I'm not sure how to do any of that.
Alright so I figured out that the reason my finger scrolling wasn't working had something to do with the Add Widgets or Enable Widgets cabs I had installed. I reflashed my ROM and did not install either cab, then installed the weather widget through the Marketplace and now finger scrolling now works with the latest widget. Next all I'd ask is for someone to put the MSN Weather widget from the marketplace into a cab so I can use it without the marketplace.
Bump.
Anyone know how to make a CAB out of the Windows Marketplace MSN Weather widget? How about from the attached widget file?
This seems newer
I'm not sure, but this seems a newer CAB and it worked great for me on 1.43 - am about to reinstall on 1.66 (VF UK)
OK.... idiot mode off

Hi guys,
I've tried to install this but after installing the 'unlock widget installer' app & then lauching the weather.widget file (as per the instructions) i get a error msg telling me that ".widget" is not a know file type...
do i actually have to do anything with the unlock widget program (i've installed it) but i can't find it to run anything...
any help greatfully received!

Okay, I've spent the last 3 days looking for any info on accessing the Sprint Music Store after installing an Energy ROM. I've found a couple things that looked promising, but nothing has worked. If there is already an answer here somewhere, I'm sorry, but I've missed it.
Does anyone know how to do this?
Is there a specific reason why you would even want sprint music store? You could get off a lot cheaper by signing up for a different plan through an online network. (there are plenty) Plus you can use just about any mobile browser to download your songs.
There may be, but I have never seen a Sprint Music Store program for a flashed ROM (Unless the chef has specifically cooked it into his recipe.)
BUT..................... If you are really hard up for sprint music downloads, you can just go to the sprint mobile website and download any of their mobile apps/music.
Hope this helps.
It's not that I HAVE to have the Sprint Music store, but.... our contract at work gives us a few free downloads each month, and I already have almost 100 songs that I can't use now that I've flashed my ROM.
It looks like Sprint took away the ability to log on to their website and download songs.
I am able to log on to the sprint website and download. Are you using Pocket Internet Explorer or Opera? You should be able to use PIE or Opera 9.5 and login/download. I am not sure about newer versions of opera/opera mini/skyfire/etc.

Which ROM are you using? Energy ROM comes with Opera 10 and they are not cooking Sprint Music in to that ROM.
When you say you can log on to the Sprint website and dowload, what do you mean? Can you be a little more specific? What URL are you using?
I am using NRG "Leo" ROM March 7 23542 WM 6.5.5 w/ Sense 2.5.2012
If you don't want to use the Opera 10 Beta, just install a different version. Grab a cab file anywhere and find the browser that works best for you.
If you go to "sprint.com" and at the bottom left of the screen click the "digital lounge" link you have access to everything you can possibly download to your phone through sprint. Games, wallpapers, ringtones, calltones, and music. (among others).
The exact address of the generic digital lounge is:
https://manage.sprintpcs.com/Manage...HP_DME_Link_ShopDigitalLounge!26zone=Overview
Although to purchase anything, you have to sign in to your sprint vision account.
Hope this helps, let me know if there is anything else you need help with on this....

Yes, I see the music link here, but when I log in, it goes away and is replaced by a TV/Radio link. I heard Sprint was only going to allow certain devices to only download music on the device, and that seems to be true from what I'm seeing.
Sorry, didn't even go that far with it. I gave up on the sprint store back when I had my PPC6700 (BTW I have had the exact same phones as in your sig... except for the diamond.)
only thing I could suggest is to flash a shipped ROM, download away at the music store, and move the music files to your storage card. Sucks but I have nothing else, and haven't found anything in the way of installing the software for it.

I thought of that before I flashed the ROM, but it seems as though there's no way to keep the DRM intact. None of the downloaded songs play anymore.

Hi all,
When I was using Android 1.5, I used to use the HTC Stock app and widget a lot. But since moving to 2.1 a week ago, I have not yet been able to find a replacement I tried few apps from the market but nothing feels quite right. Why isn't the HTC Stock app in the 2.1 Sense roms anyway?
So does anyone know whether I can get the HTC Stock app and widget back? Perhaps from an APK.
Alternatively, can anyone recommend a widget from the Market (free or paid) that I can have lots of shares displayed at once?
Thanks.
The stock app is included in 2.1 as long as you're running a Sense rom. If it's not there the developer probably just removed it from the rom to save space. I can't help you out with the APK but it shouldn't be too hard to find on here.
Ah I see! I'll ask the developers. Thanks.
So, have you found it? I'd like to try it too, if you have.
Unfortunately not!
I've been googling up and down and searching on here, Modaco, Vaillain, etc, but still haven't found it.
A bit off topic of the original post...but the thread title works and I didn't think a whole new thread was necessary.
So here's my question;
Is anyone else experiencing problems with the HTC Sense Stocks application in that the 1M, 3M, 6M, 1Y, and 2Y graphs are not showing the correct data. Only the 1D and 5D charts work.
I'm not sure at what point this problem occurred...cause I know it use to work. Just curious whether it was something I did to my device (flashing a custom ROM), or whether others are seeing the same problem...in which case this would suggest there is something wrong with the servers from which the application downloads the charts from.
Yes, I'm seeing the same problem. I haven't done anything to my phone yet, so I doubt it's a problem with the phone...
If you tell me where the app is ill gladly upload it

Hi,
a few weeks ago, i changed from WinMo to Android. Now I am a proud owner of a galaxy...
Unfortunatly, the galaxy comes without sense. So I am missing the Stocks widget, too. The good thing on that app is that it uses yahoo! finance as data source. Yahoo! finance offers more markets than Google Finance does. Yahoo Finance has an app for Android. But if I am looking for it in the market, it's not available. But it's available on appbrain...
Here is the link: http://www.appbrain.com/app/yahoo-finance/com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.finance
And this is the link for Yahoo! Finance for Android: http://mobile.yahoo.com/finance/android
I would be glad, if someone get's this to work and could upload the *.apk
Greetz from sunny Bavaria,

P.S.
Excuse my poor English
I also could not find Yahoo Finance in the market.
I managed to install Yahoo Fianance from the following link:
http://www.getjar.com/mobile/36281/yahoo!-finance-for-htc-hero/
However, when I opened the app, it just open up the browser linking to mobile yahoo finance site.
Not too sure how to get it working properly as an app.
hi.
get "market enabler", fake a provider in the u.s. and you'll find yahoo finance in the market.
as an alternative i can recommend "stock watcher". has a great ui and offers some widgets.
have fun!

Hi,
I believe that the UK Orange Desire S features the UMA app for Orange Signal Boost. Can anyone confirm this? If so I am hoping that it can be ported to other HTC devices...
I wish it was, but Orange don't have the Desire S in their shop yet.
I have just got an upgrade on Orange to a Desire S through phones4u, once I have finished setting it up I'll check with a different sim, but it appears to be sim free.
No signal boost app, no root yet AKAIK, I also have a LG P500 from work on Orange which does have the app. Haven't successfully moved the app to a different phone yet though.
Would really really like UMA on the DS though.
Interestingly I had a call from Orange the other day doing a survey, how good is your signal, are you aware of UMA sort of questions. Told them the best thing they could do for me would be to release the signal boost app for all android phones.
Any news on this would be very welcome.
EDIT:: Just checked, it's sim free. Bonus.
MG
I have a DS on Orange (sent from orange on an upgrade last fri) I dont know what 'UMA App' is, but the DS does have 'Signal Boost' it uses the wireless network in your home from what I understand.

Does it have loads of orange branding too? There must be a way of getting the apk out.
I've tried various Kineto.apk installs, even had a different rom on the LG, but it would always FC so I went back to the stock orange rom.
How would we go about getting the apk out? Astro, Ti backup?
EDIT: - Going to try the Orange Rom in this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1002506 Thread
Signal Boost is the UMA app. I have also tried a few Kineto install but with no luck, I believe it might actually rely on some things in the kernel which don't normally exist.
No luck with the Orange rom, 131 error. I wonder if Orange CS will be any use?

Did you download the ROM, extract the .apk then load it onto your device? What device did y ou try it on?
I've extracted the system.img and found MS-SAGA-KNT20-02-A0-GB.apk which installs the Signal Boost app, force closes though.
Looked at a few of the other packages there and some are interesting in that they won't install as an apk, must be running or permissions issues.
If I could get round the 131 error on installing the Orange rom I'd be happy.
MG
I am pretty sure it needs a compatible kernel too. If you look at the threads regarding loading the T-Mobile wifi app (also Kineto) onto the N1 you will see what I mean. Shame but I can't see anyone with the required skills picking this up to make it work on many devices.
Had a call from Orange CS yesterday, unable to install app or rom on unbranded phone.
Anyone know someone with an XTC clip in the south west - Cornwall / Devon?
Okay, I just had a little luck with the UMA application.
Not quite there yet though.
BASICALLY, I have come to understand that the application extracted from various Roms FC cuz they are missing other files they depend on from the ROM.
I was using Orange Signal Boost apk from the Orange Desire S rom (am attaching it) on my HTC Legend.
Then I came across stories of someone in US who had extracted an apk from so Tmobile Rom for wifi calling and made it to work on a Nexus 1. I downloaded that files (also attached). This file was a modded version of original apk and had all the dependant files. (and consequently was 3mb vs 600kb of Orange signal boost)
So what I tried was
1. Install tmobile wifi app
2. Install Orange signal boost on TOP of it. It will ask you that this progam will replace another older program on your phone. Clcik okay.
3. What this does is leave old installed files needed from tmobile app and this time LO AND BEHOLD, signal boost app launches without FC
Here comes the problem though, it doesnt work, cuz somewhere hardcoded in the files that the tmobile app installs is the network info and naturally, our sims being orange are recognized as invalid sim.
Me and a LOT of other people would REALLY appreciate it if someone with any knowhow can look at this and figure it out for us
The main difference is that the large apk contains lib/armeabi/libkineto.so
Can you get the libkineto.so from the Desire S?

Its not just a question of extracting the .apk which is easy enough, there are lots of other dependencies which are a nightmare to reverse engineer.

Hmm, While its great to see people have started to try and extract the UMA signal boost application, it does look like (atm at least) any users that wish to keep the UMA signal boost functionality will have to keep with the original stock orange ROM.
On the subject of dependencies how likely is it that there are closed/proprietary libraries are being used? The reason I ask is given the nature of the android platform and the number of open source notices in the pre-installed UMA application, it may be possible to work out the library dependencies from the open source notices. If anyone is interested in taking this further I can take screenshots of these open source notices (unless you can think of an easy way to extract the text).
I also noticed I seem to be running a slightly newer version on the UMA applicaion. I seem to be running MS-HTCSM-KNT20-02-A0-GB-12 on my stock orange rom.
what exactly does this app? is is some kind of a software implemented pico BTS for 3G? like the ones vodafone offers to plug in at home with bad reception, where it uses your internet connection to provide better signal at home?

I take it no one knows any more about this?
The stock orange rom is driving me mad, I think I'm have to live without the UMA signal boost application on another rom.
Maybe it needs a certificate?
Hi all. If you look at how UMA is set up on unlocked Blackberry's they have to enter UNC & SEGW server address' and choose a certificate to use. The addresses may or may not be hard coded in to the signal boost apk, I would guess they're not but maybe the certificate isn't. I read somewhere that the certificates are stored in system/etc/security/cacerts.bks if that helps?

OK, I got an idea, dunno how good it is but I can't test it since I'm not an Orange and don't have a Sense ROM installed.
You've said that it's not working cause application looks for Tmobile as network info (at least is what I've understood). What you can try is to install from market MarketEnabler application and "fake" T-Mobile network. It fools Android Market enough to gain access to it as if you're on T-Mobile, even if you're living on the other side of the globe and on different network. It should trick this application as well. Give it a try and tell me if it's working
