I decided to buy a contact/dialer/callerID program for my samsung and i'd like to know your opinion about the option i can choose from.
I tried Iconsoft PhonEx and Resco Contact Manager, and i found vantages and disadvantages on each program...
Can you tell me which program would you buy and why?
No suggestion for such a software??
What i'd like to have is:
-Nice caller ID that override the system one.
-A contact manager easy to use, expecially with a good searching function.
-A dialer nicer than the default wm one. (that's not hard )
-Popups for incoming messages (for that i already use Vito sms-chat)
Inesoft Phonex have almost all that, but the search though the contacts is a panic, the letter scrollbar is too small for me.
Resco contact manager has some problem to override the system caller id in my phone, the default one in shown over the resco one.
Is there a more complete solution??

Contact Manager i use iContact and for caller id i use the full screen option from S2U.

Icontact has a good search function, and s2u a good caller id.
I was looking for a more intergate solution, but i'll give a try

Is there a way to increase the size of the picture that comes up when you have an incoming call ?

Inesoft (that great developer that does Cash Organiser - one of the most complete apps I've seen) has a newish product called Address Book. This provides a today plug in a little bit like Contact Breeze but it also has a CLI adaptor that will show in full screen when a call comes in. This will include persons photo if it is in your contacts.
I am reluctant to pay for software when all I want is to increase the picture, I don't want all the ringtones and profiles.
Is there a registry change available ?
There are a few shortcomings in WM on the SMS front as everyone who uses these wonderful little devices will know.
One of these shortcomings, that of replacing mobile numbers in text messages and in delivery receipts with a name from Contacts if available, is already solved by Saman's great app, SMSDRFix (http://www.saman-cz.com/ppc/index.html?drfovrw.html).
It's useful to be able to insert a name or number from your Contacts list in a text or email message. Would anyone be interested in developing a little app that modify's the context menu in POcket Outlook to provide Insert Contact Name and Insert Contact Number menu items?
These would be great little additions. Perhaps Saman would even think of making this a part of his SMSDRFix app!

Oldsap can u help me out ? i am using OIST v 1.1 but i don't see any option which shows to assign different sms tones for each contact? please help me out if u know !

Hi!
When selecting Contacts to assign to the People Tag only Outlook-Contacts can be chosen but no SIM-Contacts. The "normal" Contact application is showing both.
I have seen this in many (pre Manila) ROMS before but some had the possibility to choose from both Contacts at this point so it must be possible.
Does anybody know more on how to change this?

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable
You can try it, maybe works.
If the key doesn't exist, create it.

Just configure Icontact to be default contact manager.

This does only change the visibility of the SIM Contacts in the Outlook Contacts, not in the Contact sheet you see when you try to add s.o. to the people tag.
Any other idea?

I'm gonna ressurect this thread because i also want to know the answer to the origonal question. I would like to get the Manila People Tab to recognize my Sim contacts. Outlook contact manager and all phone applications already do by default in my rom but when i go to "add" a contact to my People tab it displays nothing as I have no contacts copied to my phone. I did a test and copied a contact to my phone and Manila will then use it but I am wanting to avoid that if i can.

On my HD I had no difficulties having IContact as my default contact manager.
On the HD2, even if I set it as default contact manager, if I press on phone / contacts it will bring me back to the old Windows contact manager.
does anybody know how to solve this issue ?

Is there a program to show full contact details on incoming call?... I'm not speaking about full screen photo... the photo is ok the WM standard size... I need company, job, office, department etc. info when receiving a call...

You probably have to use a third party dialer. Search this forum using google, or just do a google search, and see if you can find any.
threre are some but just a few with very limited options... I was hoping to alter the default WM incoming call screen... it shows name, number, photo... and from what i've seen even company... i need to have also department and job... is there a registry for this?
third party dialers are ruining my smooth WM experience by doubleing some steps or actions...
Not to my knowledge. You have to use a 3rd party application.
Not sure if this will do it but you can try the following

There are both paid version but you can download a trial and see if you like it or if it does what you require
