Does anyone have a solution for the problem that my camera.exe doesn't load?
I have tried: Soft reset, Hard reset and overwrite update of 6.1 to Windows Mobile 6.1 (file name: RUU_Polaris_HTC_NLD_3.13.404.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.07_1.59.42.15_Ship).
Note this is the first day i own this Touch Cruise (Polaris) . Seller told me that he flashed the original HTC ROM and that is true i think cause in the information settings it says ver. 3.13.404.0 NLD
same here. i bought it from a guy that said he changed the rom and then it stop working.
stupid me, i thought it was going to be easy to repair....
i have changed the radio and rom at least 6 times now. (official, cocked, wm 6 - 6.5) and still nothing. the only thing that works is the front camera with a registry hack.

Every 5 or 6 days, depending on how much i use my SPV M1000, when i try to turn it on it doesn't seem to work, then i press the button again and still dont work... when I try to make a soft reset it completly shuts down and there is no way i can get it back on! Only if i hard reset it... thats a pain in... you know where!

Can you give us some more details, rom version, software installed etc... I have an M1000 and I experienced similar problems, particularly with 1.66.230 ROM (MMS) it kept messing up SMS and freezing. I now use a custom ROM 1.72 set up for Orange UK that NinjaDonkey created.
your not the only one with this problem,
we have about 30 of these (spv m1000) and a couple are having the same problem,
the only solution being a hardreset.

I had the same problems with 1.66.230. Have you tried the other ROM from the orange website (without the MMS) It came on my replacement phone a few weeks ago and it seemed to work a lot better. I think the ext rom version is 1.66.200

I upgraded our first SPVM1000 (xda2 from orange) with WM5 and it all seemed to work fine.
I then up upgraded the second and it went fine. The second one is still workign completely fine with no problems. We noticed that the first one could not get reception. If you put its sim card in the other phone then it works. Now I tried with with Orange and Vodafone sims. They work in PDA 2 but in PDA 1 there is no reception (it was working yesterday).
Then it kept coming up with an error saying that it was sorry for the inconvenience but there was an error with cprog.exe.
After a reset (power button and soft reset button) that stopped happening but then I found that I could not active sync PDA1. It cant connect and so connects as "guest". After what used to be a hard reset, everything is still as though I just did a soft reset with WM5 - not sure why.
Then I tries to backdate it to the old rom. If I use OSImage tool it wants it to be active synced which doesn't work (v3.8 or v4.0). I also tried to reupgrade with WM5 again (a fresh installation) but althoght it will go into boot mode with Serial 1.03 and then USB 1.03 appearing on the screen, the upgrade fails. It says there is a communication error.
Everything is working with PDA 2 so it cant be a connection fault. I think I did something and now I got myself in quite a pickle.
Can anyone help please?
I'd be happy to reset / reboot right back to the beginning again though I'd like to keep WM5.

Solution (how to hard reset in wimdows mobile 5)
Hard resetting WM5 has fixed all of these problems including the phone reception. To hard reset (sometimes called clear reset in the forums) you have to press the tape and camera buttons and then the soft reset with the stylus. This is on an XDA2 (SPVM1000) and is different since upgrading to WM5 (prev power button and the soft reset did the trick). I found lots of websites giving different instructions on how to do this but for the XDA2 type this works.

3 months a go I got the phone from t mobile is been came whit the windows mobile5 and I install the windows mobile 6 but I am having turabul whit it and I when to go back to windows mobile5 now I call the T-Mobile customer service they cudont help me and refer me to manufacture to solve the problem.
I tray to install the window mobile5 but is giving me turabull code 224 devise is not responding I tray to dart resetting is well but instil is running on window mobile 6.
Can you pls help me to install the window mobile5, or have to delete the rom update.

Hello all,
A simple question.
How can one tell what kind of a unit he has, is it WWE or is it ASIA or maybe another, I have bought my unit 2nd hand and since then had problems with the softwares and radio roms.
I have used WWE rom, and I just can not get all my contacts in, I have used ASIA and for a few days all was working fine, till something happens I reset the unit and either data is lost or the radio has no signal etc.
Another question, is it possible to stop the Automatic Customization after a hard reset???
Your help would be much appreciated.
WWE or Asia depends on installed ROM. Type can be Polaris 100 or Polaris 200, AFAIK, and is visible during hard reset.
What ROM are you using now? Looks like trouble with ROM or bad device.

For the moment I am using a cooked rom Khanx 1.6 Pro.
I was really fed up with the Original Rom as I said it was fine for a few days, working smoothly, even backups by SPB were fine, and suddenly one day the unit froze and I had to reset after the rest nothing worked, all data lost.
Even after Hardreseting I was having problems with 'VDDemon' each time, only after re-installing the rom for a few times I was able to go back to working with it.
I mainly use the unit for telephone (ofcourse), mail, notes and sms.
By the way when I enter bootloader, I can see POLA100 MFG, and the SPL-2.20.Olinex, CPLD-2.
And what I meant about the Automatic ..., when you hard reset the unit you get a windows saying that in 3 seconds and automatic instal is beginning, how can one stop this instal????????

For stoping customization check thread I mentioned, think it's described there. But I might be wrong, it could be some another thread. In any case, I remember reading about it here and a way how it can be stopped.

I have been using my HTC P3600 Trinity for 2 years, last 1.5 years, I am using with ROM: 31XiTNY-STD.
I was not happy of the memory and decided to use another ROM and problems started.
After flashing different ROMs such as 31XiTNY-SXY, FInixNOver v3.7.2 - M2D, allmost all, etc. everyting go well at the beginning and suddenly (eg: changing some contact info, or adding picture to a contact or afrte new software) it bloked itself. Even soft reset can not be a solution, it stay at the first screen (I can not see windows again). The only solution that I found is flashing a new ROM but after few program installation it happens again and again.
Can it be a hardware problem or have you faced such a problem before,
Please help, I do not want to use my Nokia 6310i again
If it can be a hardware problem, any idea about repairment.

I bought from Australia with ROM update to a Generic?? WM6.1 ROM and TOMTOM GPS. Was fine but died, would turn-off when answer call and you could not turn on the display again wait reset and then would seem OK. Tried reverting to the Telstra again - same issue. HTC repaired hardware under Warranty-but Telstra again and TOM wont work - new IMEI now??
This took a long time so picked up an AT&T HTC Pure but I would rather use the T8582 and Flash to WM6.5 So now the questions:
1. The "threads" don't seem to say T8582 or T8282 - just Touch HD. So is this because as far as the ROM is concerned it doesn't matter??? - Just a radio issue. Also in the Dutty threads it would seem that he has a version that is based on and HD2 ROM LEO, but for the HD. OR do I mis-understand?
2. Can USPL be installed from the sd card like the new ROM or along with the new ROM to avoid the loss on the Reset of the USPL at the end of the first step ?. The HD has the 1.54.0000 spl now - I have new laptop and it is WIN7 - doesn't use ActiveSync - got it to work with PURE but would like NOT to play with this until Touch HD is re-flashed and all OK - I want to stay with the USPL for now as I don't know that HTC has fully fixed the problem yet and it might have to go back again.
3. I thought about going to HD2 but don't want to give up stylus for some applications - like SuperCalender. Has some very small ICONs to click.
4. Pure touch screen operation is far smoother then the HD. Is this a hardware issue or a function of 6.1 versus 6.5 windows.
5. I like the PURE Voice commands so would prefer a new rom with the same MSVC??? installed or a .cab to upgrade.
6. Want a stable 6.5 ROM as I likely will only do this once. I hope.
As mentioned in one thread - I have done extensive reading here, but due to the warranty issue I want to be very carefull. I would like to do ALL from the Flash Card before work on usb connect to WIN7.
I am on the road for next three weeks with the two phones and laptop.
