the USEFUL screenlocker - General Questions and Answers

Is there a screenlock app that would actually lock the screen?
...by ignoring the taps that restart the standby/suspend countdown when in locked mode if your screen accidentally turns on
? (Only "unlock" area would make the action)

And the answer is...
Pocketshield. Only I need to buy it

ok...

This has bin discussed in the touchLockPro thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444215. Would recommend the applications for locking anyway, it's awesome.

[APP] Not Call Log - no more annoying lock-screen after call end

Hello!
I am very happy to share with you that I have found the solution to the irritating behaviour of X10, returning to lock-screen after a call has ended, that is.
There is an application called Not Call Log which lets you decide where you want to be on your phone after a call (home, dialer, any other app).
You should really give it try, it works like a charm on my X10!
very nice THX dude
I'm not a dude, but I'm glad I helped!! :-D
works a charm! thanks
How u downlod it?there is no onk ther.
Sent from my X10i
It's free on the Market! ;-)

I did not change anything in the default settings apart from choosing Home! Have you tried it with an outgoing call? Because it will not work with incomings! ;-)
Wow, it's great. The annoying lock has finally gone.
Thank you so much. And look forward to your next contribution.
thanks for sharing.... keep it up!!!
I think I'm actually going to keep the default, but the idea of this app intrigued me. Thank you anyway, dudette! I might have a use for it in the future.
Deleted double post.
Maybe its me, but it still goes back to the lockscreen after ending a call. xD
Thanks a ton...
Was just looking for something like this...thanks again..
Nice
Very nice app. No more accidental redials.
For me after outgoing call comes the lock screen.
for me sometimes too
I think that the same problem applies with this app too, along with the lock replacement apps. The default lockscreen is just too stubborn and persistent, so it sometimes pops back! Still, for me at least, it works most of the time!
i got the solution... for me it works... (outgoing call for sure)
i flashed my phone.apk new because of the colour...
than i used the phone first time with new phone.apk (outgoing)
when the call ended my phone asks me for an action to choose.
there was timescape and ADW-launcher. i picked adw.
the question wasnt by the app. it was a question from the android system...
from there on my phone has no longer lockscreen after outgoing call. really!!!
now it works great for me.

[Resolved] [Q] Does anyone know what application is showing in my notification bar ?

Hi,
I'm running a stock rom from an HK phone and there's a new icon in the notification bar i have never seen.
www[dot]monsterup.com/upload/1334936579149.png
(I'm new so i can't add the picture)
Does someone know what app is that or what does it mean ?
Thank you.
Unfortunately, it looks like your link isn't working.
Ah yes, you must add WWW to the link.
Hmm, interesting.
If I had to guess (and I do, as it seems to not be a "standard" Android icon), I'd be willing to bet its Rotation (or orientation) lock. Meaning, that the phone will stay in whatever orientation its locked to (portrait or landscape) no matter what position the phone is put in.
Oh yes ! You are right !
Ahah, with another phone, there wasn't this icon.
Thank you very much Ninmeister.

[Q] Looking for an app "screendimmer"

Hi, Im using Android (Note 2) and looking for an app called Screendimmer from IOS. Here is the youtube about how it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB4VWhZtU5c
I use this for whatsapp. While Im chatting and waiting for a reply, the phone usually turn off and I have to press the power button to wake it up. My friend who is using Iphone showed me that he installed Screendimmer on Cydia and solved all the problems above.
I tried to use "tasker" together with "screen filter" but I failed to do that. So is there any app in Android that has the same function like ScreenDimmer?
Any helps.
Thanks

It'd be great if this was available for Android too.
Posting in app development forum will get better results maybe?

Thanks. However, both apps do not meet my needs. They just provide the ability to adjust the screen brightness.

Firstly, Im using note2 with android 4.1.2 so chainsfire does not support.
Secondly, I think you misunderstand my needs. You can what this video and I hope you maybe interested in this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jB4VWhZtU5c
I have been looking for this app for Android but I found nothing. It is available for IOS users and I think It should support Android too :silly:

Yes I also tried that app but it is not what I need. The main reason that I am finding this app is that I dont need to press the power button everytimes I am waiting an message/whatsapp/viber/facebook. The screen will automatically dim (it does not like the screen time out that auto lock the screen after x seconds) and it will come light when I touch the screen. It can save battery (by dimming the screen at the lowest brightness...nearly black) and the power button also.
waiting for some developers who can build an app like this :victory:
P/S: I have an idea that we can use Tasker and Screen Filter, and set a loop with a condition that when a specific app is open (whatsapp for example), if in 10 seconds, there is no touch on screen (I left the phone there for 10seconds) it will activate Screen Filter (that set at the lowest brightness) to dim the screen (not lock it); then when the phone receives touch, Screen Filter will be disable. In that 10seconds, if there is touch occured, it will recount another 10seconds again. I am not a IT guy so I can not do it myself. Can anyone try this?
up waiting for any idea
It seems that there is no developer interested in this app
I have emailed to the developer of the IOS app but still received nothing.
