Internet Radio and TV station files for WMP and TCPMP - General Topics

Attached are mostly News Radio and TV stations that I've been able to play either in Windows Media Player or TCPMP.
My favorite is the Audio portion of CNN Cable News that you get on Cable TV like Time Warner Cable.
I am looking for FOX Cable News but can't find it.
Attached are zip files for these stations.
WMP contains files that only play in Windows Media Player (WMP) (.asx and .asf files).
TCPMP contains files that play in TCPMP (.pls and .m3u files), but some also play in WMP.
Why two files? If you strickly use TCPMP, don't bother downloading the WMP folder. If you use WMP, download both. WMP will find stations compatible from both folders).
Download zip files Unzip and put anywhere on phone (or storage card). I store everything on Storage Card.
For WMP: Go to Menu, Library, Update library. This will update your library for all files (.asx, asf, etc) compatible.
Click my Playlist, then if you dont see your new stations, click Playlist on top then select "Storage Card" instead of "My Device". Unfortunately the playlists in WMP are not combined for all songs on phone.
For TCPMP: Go to TCPMP folder (wherever you saved it) and play the station or create a playlist and then save playlist.
Once done, you can play these stations from your media player instead of using an additional piece of software.
Stations attached: CNN Cable News (Audio portion), CNN radio various cities, CNN TV, FOX TV LA, NASA TV, MTV, NBC News, Pentagon TV, NPR radio various cities, few music stations, Kids TV.

thanks. big help!

Thanks mate.

How to create Media Player PLAYLISTS?

Hi all,
I'm trying to create or to copy my playlist from the computer to my Magician, but I couldn't! I don't know how to do it.
If I copy the .WPL from my PC to Magician, it doesn't open. When I'm using the Pocket Microsoft Media Player 10, my library have a lists of Playlists, but it's always empty and I don't know how to create one.
Can anyone help me please?
The playlists hold a definitive list of where a file is stored. If you have the stuff in "my music" then the files will be in c:\Documents And Settins\ (Username)\My Documents\My Music, and as such all files in the playlist will be listed in this location, and as this location does not exist in the device, it cannot find the files. You also need to copy the actual music files across, not just the wma files (Music files are mp3, wma, etc.)
If you want to use the device as an MP3 player, you should really get a storage card to store the music on.

I think you got me wrong. I already have a Storage Card and about 100 WMA files. The Library on MP is OK, but I have no Customized Playlists. That's what I want.
Got it?
Thanks!
Ok as to making playlists in Pocket Windows Media Player, i have no idea. i just had a look at my universal and i cant see the option.
Hoiwever, in the program that i use instead of WMP (Pocket music from pocketmind.com), you can make, view and edit playlist easily, plus it has a nice today screen plugin.
so one can not make new playlists in windows media player
The Pocket PC version of Windows Media Player does not allow you to create or edit playlists. But there is a freeware program for it!

Add AOL Radio Stations

Now that AOL Radio in under CBS control, they are streaming all their stations in a new format. Flash Video (.flv) to be specific. Download the new Winamp player to get and copy the station URL. You can also create an AOL Radio station playlist. Use TCPMP with the Flash Video plugin to play the playlist or the URL stream. The playlist/URL can also be played using Orb if you need to change the stream format. Enjoy.

WMP11 sync .WPL (playlist) to WM6.5?

EDIT: Figured it out. Besides, screw using windows media player. S2p, Nitrogen, much more finger friendly. Thanks anyways.
I cannot sync my desktop WMP11playlist to windows mobile media player. This is how I accces and listen to online radio streams. Within WMP11 i have created many .wpl playlists files of various radio streams. I would like to sync these playlist of radio streams to my windows mobile. I want to be able launch windows mobile media player and be able to play the radio streams saved as playlist. Specifically, I have saved a sky.fm radio stream as a playlist in desktop WMP11 and it shows as a playlist in my playlist folder as "sky.fm (80's).wpl." Under playlist in WMP11 it shows this playlist as "sky.fm (80's)." I select the playlist, drag it to the sync bar and then select sync with device. Less than a second later it shows "sync completed." However, in the corresponding folder in my windows mobile nothign shows and thus I cannot play the .wpl playlist file with windows mobile media player. It does not appear to sync the playlist.
I thought I would try to copy over my desktop playlist folder with this "sky.fm (80's).wpl" file into my windows mobile device and the storage card. In both place I see this folder; however, when I slect the file to play, It says something to the effect of no program is asscoaited with that file type.
Why is this? Does the windows mobile media player not allow sycning of playlist between desktop media player and mobile? Is it because the mobile version cannot play/recognize .wpl? If so, then why does it say "sync completed" on the desktop side?
Any help would be appreciated or workaround. Also, I am aware of other apps that allow me to access radio streams for my mobile, but those do not meet a requirement i have. I save radio stream playlist because they allow me to access them via 7MC (media center), WMP11, and was hoping windows mobile media player. Thats my end goal.
Well, found the answer. Apparently windows mobile media playter cannot not play .wpl playlist files of streams that the dektop version saves.

tuned.mobi question

Friends-
I am using tuned.mobi to locate stations and play them in the winmobile media player. However I can not save a station for playing in the future. How do I save a link so that I can build a list of stations to play?
I am saving the .asf file in different places, and the stream plays, but afterwards it is not available to play again without doing a browser search and downloading.
What am I doing wrong??? I can not create a playlist to play.

Any free music player what can properly sort files?

Hello.
Is there a music player that know how to properly sort files, so after file1 it would play file2 and not file10 ?
Thank you.
You have to turn shuffle off.
Yes, Captain Obvious, it IS off.
For some reason all players I've tried so far sort files as:
file1
file10
file11
file12
...
file2
file20
file21
This goes to sorting by filename or data in ID3 tags
In PHP/MySQL it's called "natural" sorting, I believe
Sorry. But that was the first thing that came to me. What phone do you have?
Google Music Player
That's the best music player anywhere online or offline
winamp ?
Uber Music by Federico Carnales has an advanced media scan and he claims it uses "true shuffling" so you can try that..
I had this same problem (while using CM9 music player) and I found that by hitting party shuffle it fixed it?
first try to rename file1 to file01 and file2 to file02 eccetera eccetera... After that i used doubleTwist Player, freeware from Google Play, you can create playlists with that.
I like TTPod

If I have to rename files any player would do just fine. It defeats the point of this topic - finding a player that sorts files properly.
They are being sorted properly, all operating systems recognize 10 as coming before 2. Use a program like Mp3tag to automatically rename all of your music files to the correct convention; 01, 02.......10,11, etc.
Sent from my HTC One X
And what the "all operating systems" are you referring to? Windows sort them just fine without prepending with zeros.
