Bluetooth profile - General Questions and Answers

After being a bit naughty talking on my phone/s for a few years while driving, I have now invested in a lovely bluetooth car kit. All works great and quality if brill. Only 1 small problem and I'm sure you geniuses can sort me out again.
Is there any way to set profiles that will activate bluetooth and put it into car mode so that I don't have to trawl through menu's just to start bluetooth. I don't want to leave it on all the time so the battery lasts longer.
The ways I have found so far are rubbish. Surely there is a way to simply set a profile (no ring tone, bluetooth on, etc) without all this p*&^^*$g about.
HELP.

Speakerphone answer for car use?

Hi all, I have had my O2 IQ for about a month now and love it to bits - first XDA I have had with a decent radio rom from the box!
my only problem is that when I am in the car, obviously, I cannot pick it up to answer a call and pressing the call button to go to speakerphone is a pain as well as distrating, especially if tomtom is running, as it usually minimizes the program as well
I really don't like headsets, so really need some way to get the phone to automatically answer in speakerphone mode
I thought I would be able to do this in a profile, but cant see any way to do it, is there a program which can allow this?
I don't have any problem with using speakerphone in the car as others seem to, so it would be an ideal solution
I am running the original O2 rom if it makes any difference, not felt the need to mess with it yet!
any help much appreciated
regards
Robert

Any idea's anyone.
I have the same problem.
Press green button for a while - speakerphone will be turned on
Same problem here, anyway to auto answer in loudspeaker?
@ZlydenGL - we don't have the time to press the answer button and then press the loudspeaker button when driving, dangerous
This probably isn't quite what you're looking for, but can't you plug in a wired headset into your phone when you're in the car?
My dad had something like that, with the microphone mounted above the steering wheel...

AudioPara_.csv file -- columns of adjustments

Does anyone know what the different parameters in the columns adjust in the AudioPara_.csv file? Seems like this file, if tweaked properly can fix several sound issues. Some seem fairly obvious but others not.
There also seems to be some kind of compression/limiting going on, loud noises in the receiver will bring volume too far down and then I can barely hear the other person. HTC is probably protecting the tiny speakers, but it seems it's not adjusted properly. Sometimes even first outgoing ring is nice and loud, but the next is soft. Go figure!
This is also true for the outgoing mic. I have had some people say it's too loud from my phone. Sometimes I can even hear my own background noise loud through my earpiece, similar to the mic sensitivity thread. If I talk fairly loud then sometimes the overall volume drops, including my receiver, regardless of the microphone AGC setting.
With recording there seems to be some control from the AGC enable switch setting, but even when it's turned off, there is some sort of limiting. I've tried a few different audio programs to record and they respond similar. The gain controls offered in these programs don't seem to do much. Recording music easily clips the sound! The AudioPara file has controls for CE_REC_INC_MIC and CE_REC_EXT_MIC, which seem like this might control some of this. Again there are many columns of adjustments.
Seems like this file can fix a lot, but it would be beneficial to have a better understanding before blindly trying this and that as many have. Does anyone know where to get replacement speakers if we blow one from the wrong settings? Please share any knowledge you have about these settings and suggestions of where to find out more. It seems like more than just gain and volume that needs adjustment.
Thanks!

Sound volume level´s

Is it possible to set different volume level as default?
I´d like to play music via Blutooth to my car radio,
simultaneuosly TT is running.
My wish is, that TT-Voice is a little bit louder than music.
I´ve looked into registry but can´t find the correct keys.
Thanks for your ideas.
I use a program by Ageye called G-Profile ( http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=gprofile/about ). It allows you to set all kinds of different profiles based on different scenarios.
For instance, I have an "equipment based" profile that automatically kicks in when external power is connected + headset. When I'm driving I use that adapter that has 3 plugs going in one side (power, headset & data) and one plug out the other side to plug into the bottom of the device. I plug in the car power adapter + a cord that interfaces with my car radio to play music through the radio and leave the data plug empty. With this setup my phone charges while driving and playing music + using TomTom and all the sounds come through the car speakers. Just set your TomTom to the level you want it to be when you drive and it will be the same each time you use it. Also, look in your TomTom settings...there is something about linking the volume to your car speed (increases as you drive faster, if you want).
There are several tabs in the G-Profile program for all kinds of settings...volume (I have mine to set volume max when I plug in in the car, but turn the ringer way down), connectivity (nothing changes for me while in car), execute (my prefered music player), reminders (none for me while driving), notifications (I don't change any), screen brightness (no changes for me here either).
When I get in the car and plug the one plug from the adapter into my device, G-Profile automatically notices I've plugged in power and "headset" and it automatically launches my music player and sets the volume etc how I want. Very cool. When I unplug it goes back to the default settings for all those tabs, or another profile depending on how you have it set up. I have it so it knows if I'm home (based on Cell tower ID) to turn on my wifi (and make some other changes) so I am connected to my home network before I even get in the front door and have my phone volume etc set how I want it while home. It can tell if I'm at work (grown up sound notifications as opposed to fun sounds used while not at work), in the library (mute everything and jump onto their wifi) etc. You get the picture.
It's a nice program. Might be overkill for the one thing you need. But maybe it does all kinds of stuff you didn't know you "needed" until now! It's not free (4.99 €), but it's not too expensive either. I wouldn't want to be without it since I have 8 profiles set up to all work automatically (no ringers going off in the middle of the night while it charges etc)!
Good luck!
Hi...
the registry key you are looking for is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\HTC\AudioManager\Config]
"music_player_volumn"
default is 100, 65 should work for use with TomTom!
Cheers,
Jan
strowbose
you made my day
testing on way home after work.
That´s it, everything wireless with good sound and volume.
I think it´s worth to move this thread into tweaks and tricks.
Thanks
merry xmas and a happy new year

[Q] Problems when riding motorcycle

Hi all,
Just love the Sensation - but some of the enhancements I have found also have a sting in the tail. Anyone give me any pointers for these?
When riding my motorcycle, I have the Sensation plugged in to crash helmet headset. Found "Not Another Call Manager" to give me phone auto-answer. Normally I have my music on, and when a call comes in it gets auto-answered. Every thing fine - yes, really fine.
Small problem is that when I get kitted up, I turn on the music and slip the phone in my breast pocket. Sometimes as I slip it in, the phone decides to redial the last number, alternatives are music switching off or selecting the next track.
I understand the music oddities - swipe left/right gets you next track and also pause is available - just odd that it does this with the screen turned off. But I don't understand where the phone comes in - I can't find anywhere that you can just swipe the screen in any particular direction to get last number re-dial.
I have now bought a leather wallet to put the sensation in whilst riding, but it didn't stop a "pocket call" first thing this morning, even through the sensitivity seems to be greatly reduced.
All comments, help and guidance welcomed

Check in the settings to see if something is enabled that would change the track if you shake the phone.
That seems to be the most likely culprit.

i have the exact same problem when riding my bike. the issue is that the phone will pickup the headset connection and freak the **** out and start auto dialing. Mine is worse, it will call and hang up > 3 secs of music > call and hang up > 3 seconds of the next track > loop like this till I pull over and unplug my headset.
The issue is with the headphone jack and somehow its sensing commands as if you have a remote plugged into the line.
i haven't found a way to stop it. Somedays i get by with no problems, while others I will have to pull over 2-3 times on the way to my destination

Great call! I have had this a few times too, but didn't realise it was the jack connector - I thought it was the act of slipping it into the pocket. Makes a lot of sense as when I use my bluetooth headset (not configured for the bike) everything works perfectly. May have to consider going BT on the bike.
However, once I am up and running I don't think it happens at all.
I have this problem but I don't ride a motorbike - I just get it when I'm walking along with the phone in my trouser pocket.

Easy bluetooth selecter

I'm using an Onn ATV box, and I love having my bt headphones connected because I have terrible hearing, and this way others don't get blasted away by the absurdly loud volume. The problem is I can't just switch off the headphones without unpairing them altogether, and I can't turn off bluetooth without losing my ATV remote. Is there any simple device toggle app out there that would let me only disable/enable one/many device at a time granularly?
Bonus points for one with permission to display over another app so I don't even have to exit the video I'm watching to switch bt devices!!
