My company is getting rid of active sync and making us non black berry users use good link which sucks. So I installed BBC and it was not working. I changed my data plan and got my pin and such still not working so I figured I would uninstall it and then reinstall it. Seemed like the uninstall went fine but it said I needed to restart my phone so I hit the soft reset button and everything froze. After 5 minutes I took out the battery and replaced it when the phone powered on it froze at the HTC splash screen and will not go any farther. I can get calls but that’s it. So I figured I would re flash it but every time I connect it to the comp active sync says it’s locked but there is no pass on it and I cannot get it to flash. Do I have a bricked fuse or is there hope????
are you flashing a official rom or custom rom? you may need to flash a custom rom due to something blocking you from flashing.
But try to flash the new rom via sd
You must have HardSPL so just make sure you read about how to flash a new custom rom.. remember you need HardSPL you wont brick the device.
rename the ruu_signed.nbh to raphimg.nbh and place it in the root of you sd.
To flash it, then hold vol down and press hardware reset button at the botton.
Hope this helps

I have a problem with my device after installing Sprite Terminator, it has set a device password and i cannot figure out what it is.
Is it possible to re-flash the original rom to the phone, it is an OEM kaiser and has never been CID unlocked ?
I was wondering about flashing the stock rom via SD card or i can browse the contents of the phone and send files to it etc via activesync, i just can't run anything on the phone itself as stuck on the password screen.
I seem to be able to get to the bootloader screen and it says USB down the bottom
Hope someone can give me some advice
Thanks
Install HardSPL and you will be able to flash via SD card, or use CID unlocking program.
have you tried doing a hard reset?
The sprite software stops a hard reset so that isn't an option.
It's currently running the stock HTC rom as i have not flashed it at all,
Can i just do a simple reflash of the stock rom or do i need to go the HardSPL route. i was under the impression that i could just flash an original rom over the top as long as it's the same carrier etc without and cid unlock or hardspl, I cannot run anything directly on the phone as it's stuck at a password screen but activesync connects fine
boot it in a tri colour screen
hold two soft buttons(line next to green and red button) and stick in the stylus at the same time
release the stylus hold the buttons
when you see the confirmation screen release buttons and confirm the Hard reset.
that should work, I dont see how can a program disable a hard reset when the OS is not booted up.
good luck

or just reflash the same rom.....
just thought that Hard reset idea would be easier.
just out of curiosity try doing the Hard reset as I said, before you reload the Rom, I am also interested in that Sprite software and would love to know if it is Hard reset disabled
I can boot into the tri colour screen, i hold the two soft buttons down push the soft reset and the phone starts, Smart mobility, animated HTC Logo, Windows Mobile 6 splash creen then straight to the enter device password screen nothing else,
Sprite Terminator says it disables the hard reset option so i think reflashing is my only option.
are you holding two buttons while you sticking the stylus in?
you have to hold them and at the same time do the soft reset.....
I dont see how the software can alter the bootloader.... I could be missing something
alternatively just run the rom update for your CID and you should be fine
I was holding down the 2 soft buttons and the device just boots back to the device lock screen.
The software does stop a hard reset somehow and you can remotely lock your phone if it gets stolen by sending an SMS to it.

I reflashed the phone with the stock rom and it is now working ok. many thanks for your help
no problems
good to now that it is working.....and that you sorted it out.
OKAY. SO I HAVE TO SAY;
After flashing my ROM so many times and having my G1 get "stuck" the the boot up G1 screen... you could say this would make someone frustrated. Even make you think your phone is "bricked"? Right? Wrong! It's not.
I have two ways to get OFF this screen & have your phone running again.
THIS IS FOR ROOT USERS WHO HAVE FLASHED AND ARE STUCK AFTER AN UPGRADE.
1. Take your SD card out and put it into an SD Adapter/USB into your computer and open the drive and drag your update file for whatever ROM you want onto the drive .
2. Eject the drive; and don't forget to Safely remove it.
3. Put the SD card back in your G1 phone, and reboot the phone with Call+MENU+Power button and then immediately hold the HOME and BACK button to go into recovery mode.
4. Once in recovery, wipe data and then add the update.zip file
Let it do its thing and when its done, hold Home + Back to reboot.
IF your T-mobile G1 boots back up, Congrats! Your new ROM is working now.
If you are still getting stuck at the T-mobile G1 start up screen, take your SD card back out, re-do the steps I provided, but START ALL OVER FROM SCRATCH! This means, Put your Original RC33 (or RC29) DREAMIG.nbh file on the sd card, wipe, flash the recovery image (use the telnetd and terminal emulator steps - you can find them on youtube here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgJ2VtSqtJY ) and then proceed to let your phone boot up. Once everything is loaded up and you sign back in and everything syncs back up, You will be downgraded now, so you will have to flash the newest Radio and SPL onto your phone (as if you just freshly rooted your phone, because you did!) and then after you have done that; then you can wipe & flash/upgrade your ROM to whichever you prefer and also don't forget the fat32, ext2/ext3, linux-swap partition of your sdcard. This guy gives a great tutorial on how to do that! http://www.youtube.com/user/EmoGamer#play/uploads/4/0ve8pUk9dC4
ENJOY FELLOW ANDROIDIANS!
I hope I could help some of you.
If your phone is STILL stuck on the G1 loading screen, you have done something wrong. Try again. IF all else fails, Your phone is majorly Bricked and I don't know any other way to help you. These are the only two ways I know of - they have worked for me over & over; because I'm always testing out everybodys newest ROM.
This isn't any new information. There's an entire thread dedicated to bricked G1s and distinguishing whether or not they're actually bricked.

I second that.
If you can get into recovery... phone is not bricked. "BRICK" happens when you can't get into recovery NOR fastboot in the SPL.
WRONG.
If either of those steps worked that means your phone wasn't even bricked in the first place.
Garbage thread.
This is hilarious....
Hi, i must be the dumbest person in here. I just bricked my used sprint touch pro 2. Well it all started when i did not get any sleep, and did not paying attention. My phone was fully unlocked. So i decided i could not wait to flash my phone. So i started to flash the phone, but after it was done i realized i only flashed the BLEEPING SPLASH SCREEN !!!!!!!!
So when i tried to turn the phone on, it loads to the splash screen only.
So i tried to connect it to my computer, but nothing. So i tried to hard reset, it goes to bootloader screen, then only to Touch pro 2 screen. Is there anything that i could do beside Cry, lol. HELP PLEASE.
Can you enter bootloader on your touch pro2?
If so, then its good news and its not bricked Download an official rom from HTC website (or here from the touch pro 2 forum), connect it to your computer whilst in bootloader (multi coloured screen) - make sure is says usb and not serial on ur devices screen and double click your downloaded rom.
It should flash succesfully and you will have your device back up and running in under 10 minutes.
Good luck.
Maybe i should elaborate more. when i said, when i connect it to the computer nothing. I meant nothing happens. Meaning it does not connect, or recognize the Usb, or computer. Help, THX
Ok, you know how to get ur device into bootloader right? what does it say on the screen (dont bother connecting it to your computer).
It jumps right from bootloader mode to the screen that ask me if i want reset all setting to manufacturer default, or cancel page.
soft reset = hold the power button and the volume button down and softreset
I think you are trying to to a hard reset
If you can stay in bootloader, it is possible to flash official stock rom from your sd card. It isnt too difficult to do so let me know and ill tell you how to do it, but have a look on the touch pro 2 forum, you will find how to do it there
Okay, i did a soft reset. And it is staying at the boot loader screen. So it is possible to fix this sprint phone?
Okay, i think i have an idea what you want me to do. You want me to put the phone in boot loader mode, then down load a .nbh file onto the root of the SD card. And while in boot loader mode it should flash the stock rom.
Is that correct?
Yes exactly that
Make sure you extract the nbh file from the stock rom using winzip or another utility. You must then rename it to something like xxxxx.nbh (you will need to get this from the tp2 forum or when i have time ill find it for u). COpy it to the root as you say, enter bootloader etc etc.
You will find how to do this in the tp2 forum.
Good luck.
Once you get into the bootloader (the tri-coloured screen) it should say "Serial" at the bottom. Then plug the USB cable in from your PC, and that should change to "USB".
If it does say "USB", then you should be able to go ahead and flash a ROM from the PC (no need to do it via SD unless you really want to). You don't need an ActiveSync connection.
Omg. I love you guys. You guys are the best in the whole amm world. I will be donating shortly. Thank you so much. It worked perfectly in boot loader mode to connect it to the usb. Than i was able to download the stock rom.
Now should i hard reset it or just leave it alone. Thanks a million.
Hey, good news.
I guess when you said before that it didn't say usb whilst in bootloader was because you weren't actually in bootloader no matter.
Glad you got it back up and running without having to flash via sd
If you flashed an official stock rom, don't bother hard resetting, no point, if you flashed a custom or cooked rom then normally advisable to HR after a flash but this does depend on the rom.
Cheers.
Ok be prepared, this post may be rather long winded however I will try my best to prevent that. I have a Tmobile G2x I purchased on launch date. Ive not attempted to Root, change roms, or anything of the sort. (as much as I always wanted to, I always felt that my skills were not good enough to attempt these ideas no matter how easy they may seem. I just did not want to be the cause of screwing up my phone that I paid dearly for)
So I have a friend who claims to be the master (of disaster so it turns out) of rooting androids and such. He stops by my house just to hang out and eventualy convinces me to let him root my phone and install CM7. Within a few minutes the phone was rooted (super1click) and was running CM7 release candidate. (I really dont know what all these things truly are but I drilled him for answers once he jacked up my phone and left me with a half-bricked phone) So he installed Rom manager and convinced me to upgrade to the premium version via marketplace so I did. He was then showing me how easy it was to flash new roms at the touch of a few buttons. He put on some other rom which looked like CM7 but claimed to have extra tweaks. It worked fine. A few minutes later he put on some Faux Rom which gave a boot up screen like my old Nexus One did. (Multicolored X) It seemed to work fine as well. Then he said lets check out the nightly CM7 Rom so he put it on. (however I dont think it ever actually put CM7 back on.-still on Faux?) Thats when things got crazy.
Now I get the com.google.process.gapps force close message all the time. He tried to fix it for 4 hours and finally gave up. Here is what I know he/we tried: After searching the internet for hours we tried everyone elses ideas. Clearing calenders cashes, un syncing, etc. We did about 40 factory resets. We have tried to install my backup (which was from BEFORE he even touched my phone) and upon holding both volume rockers and plugging in USB (no battery installed) and it still does nothing. Windows recognizes device but phone screen stays black. Tried Debug mode while doing this as well. If we hold the volume down button and power the little install bar comes on the screen and it does its thing (whatever that is) and goes right back to the way it was. I keep getting the gapps message all the time. After factory reset I cant even type in my gmail address to start the initial setup of the phone. The force close keeps cutting me off. If I type fast, I can sync the account but I cant use market whatsoever. Tried installing Rom manager to re-flash but just sticks at starting download and gapps pops up again.
My son is starting school tomorrow and he has a medical condition. I NEED this phone to communicate with the school nurse via emails and such. As of now I can only text, call, or surf web all while dodging force closes. If ANYONE out there can please help me get my phone back to normal Id greatly appreciate it. Im sure its something easy but as I said before, Im not good at this thing and thats why I never attempted it myself. Your welcome to submit answers here or PM me your phone # if you want to walk me through it on the phone. (I have a landline phone to talk to you on) Thanks in advance for everyones time and Im sorry this ended up being so long.
Download latest Gapps.zip from Cyanogen site to your phone's SD card, boot into recovery, wipe data and cache then flash the Gapps.zip file. Let me know if this helps.
I will try this now. Thank you
Im unable to get anywhere. It still has stock recovery and I cannot get to the screen where I can wipe. Im not great at this sort of thing but Im trying.

i think you would be better off starting from scratch
1. remove your sd card from your phone and plug it in your computer
2. download the latest rom here
3. download gapps from the download links at the bottom of this page
4. transfer both files onto the sd card and put it back into your phone.
5. with your phone off, boot your phone into recovery by holding vol down+power
6. wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache
7. flash only the cm7 file
8. reboot normally
9. reboot into recovery
10. flash gapps
11. reboot normally
after you flash one file, it is highly recommended that you reboot before you flash another file (if your friend didnt do this, this may have been the problem)

EDIT: original post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056847)
Thank you guys for all your help. The instructions helped me out. Im very thankful. I can now rest better knowing that my sons school nurse can contact me if needed. Have a great night.
no more force closes? sounds good
feel free to post again if you have any more problems

My htc inspire is stuck on the htc boot logo and i have RUU for it but i dont have the drivers and my computer wont regonize the phone plz help.
download htc sycn: http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync/
Htc sync doesnt work
I already have htc sync and it wont regonize it and I have to Have it S-OFF to manually load a rom so i need the fastboot drivers and the regular drivers plzz help need them
Take it to the nearest phone lab
Pull the battery and reboot it. the battery cover is a little hard to get off some phones, so I recommend slotting a finger nail between the cover and the volume keys, rather than the nail nick (which does absolutely nothing).
If all else fails, then root it with AAHK (one step, very simple), boot into CWM recovery(turn on phone, THEN hold volume. Don't do both, or else your phone just gets stuck somewhere and you'll have to pull the battery), and flash a stock sense ROM, or any other rom at that. You'll lose all your settings and stuff, but if you want your phone to work....
CWM should give you the option to mount SD card on your phone, so you can copy and paste the .zip for your rom.
You can also try running a nandroid recovery, and restoring the nand (which would basically reinstall everything and take maybe 10 minutes), but I doubt that would work since it would be after whatever messed up your phone.
Best of luck.....
Maybe you could tell us what you tried to do before it got stuck.
It probably did not just happen without you trying to change something^^
Do you already have a recovery installed?
And it still is S-ON?
