German DREA110: JF 1.5 cupcake and not working Market/Data Sync?

Hi all there,
today i updated my JF ADP firmware to JF ADP 1.5 Cupcake + new radio and actually i cannot use the Market application or the Data synchronization tool. Furthermore i get force close message while trying to start PowerManager.
After a few experiments with the JF Cupcake firmware i tried the Haykuro Cupcake edition too, but without success. I get the same messages.
This might be the reason for my problem: The device is a german DREA110 G1...
I hope there is someone who could help me before i brick the phone while trying to reupdate

When you play with these roms, are you also playing around with apps 2 sd at the same time ?
I have a german g1, from that electron something store, and it is working perfect with jf's latest! It also works perfect with hay's 1.5'er !! The only one i havnt tried is the dudes!
And i can state that mine is rooted, with skatebord spl, and the special recovery thingy with nandroid 2.1 in!
Furthermore i do use apps 2 sd!

My procedure when upgrading has always been whipe, update, whipe, and reboot! After that everything usually works flawlessly!
Hope you get your issue fixed! Try a reboot!! It might just be a glitch!
EDIT: We are talking about the dream with a keyboard that is qwertz and not a qwerty right ? Where the buttons Z and Y have been switched in place?

yes its the qwertz keyboard, i did not really play with the roms, i just updated many times the apps to sd and the normal version of haykuro and the one in all edition of JF but there is the problem with data sync and market... I have got the spl with the skateboard too, i updated very often in past and i know how it works, are there any important things i have to pay attention before updating? i installed the radio like it was said in JF blog and hoped downloading the zip file and renaming it in update.zip would be all ... thanks for the fast answer mate

Nah, tbh when i did the apps 2 sd first my fubared too!
I did another whipe, then i let it start up, and get registered and all that stuff. I ended updownloading 5-10 apps aprox, then i did the app 2 sd like this
First i went into the terminal and went into system/sd and used busybox to delete the folders from the old system, all of them! incl lost+found!
Then i began on the app 2 sd..
busybox cp -a /data/app /system/sd/
busybox cp -a /data/app-private /system/sd/
busybox cp -a /data/data /system/sd/
exit
exit
Rebooted into recovery,
mount data
rm -rf /data/app
ln -s /system/sd/app /data/app
rm -rf /data/app-private
ln -s /system/sd/app-private /data/app-private
rm -rf /data/data
ln -s /system/sd/data /data/data
Rebooted back to normal, and let it start up fully.. Once it had been there for a min or 2, i did the last step with the dalvik in the terminal, back to recovery, do the rm -rf and ln -s steps, let it stand there a min after being done in the recovery terminal, and then i rebooted. And then it worked..
My theory was either i fubard at a step, or the sd card couldnt keep up, and might have corrupted somewhere along the lines..
My guess your prob suffering from a buffer crash or something like that

i downloaded the cupcake file from jf updater again but nothing changes.. The new firmware is installed successfully but all my contacts or the apps like ahome are like before :S .. What do you mean exactly with wiping (only a reset to factory default?) ?

In my case i installed the new JF 1.5 without wipping my phone, and as you said i got all my application as before, thats because i didnt WIPE, was not necessary in my case, i guess you can wipe your phone( restore ur phone to the beggining) when you are having problem with the build like SU permission or using task manager or cam recording.

The way is to hold the home and the RED button for approximately 20 seconds, once you see the triangle with an exclamation point and a picture of the G1 press Alt+W (can also press Home+Back to reboot).
1. Wipe
2. Update firmware
3. Wipe once more.

when i did this it siad it did not exist but i just keep going!!!

Ok the app is installed and you may be thinking you're good to go, but you aren't. It's still not working for you like it wouldn't work for me. Do you have Google Voice installed before you did all this stuff? Most likely!
Go into your phone's settings and Manage Applications
Uninstall Google Voice
Fire up the Market and search for Google Voice
Install Google Voice
Reboot your phone (You can do this by holding the power button and select "reboot phone" or the long way through Terminal Emulator)
Run the Map app (now you may have your old address in there that you tried earlier, never fear. Just clear the map from the map menu)
Put in some directions like you normally would
You should see the option for "Navigate" after it gets the directions. Click it.
Accept the installation of the voice guide thingy
You're done! Revel in the awesomeness!

reading from earler i saw some post were it said it does not work on hero roms... i dunno why??? your the great manup maybe you can help us out with some of that great super xda knowlege you have buddy its crazy i feel like i have a brand new phone excited as hell and all its doing is telling me turn left and right lol

I am testing now to see if it works or what it needs to work maybe some libs that 1.6 has and 2.0 but hero does not so ill look into this.

These instructions need major work bro make no sense.

The Maps 3.2 only works on 1.6+, unfortunately hero is 1.5

Wont work on stock hero ROMs, tattoo yes, but hero no

i dunno i thought my instructions were pretty good its what i did and got mines to work sry if it does not work for you but like i isad works for me

has to be done this only for cyn or is suppose to work in other to , because i was able to work with cyn but not in other donut rom

nope. no 32a version of it. would need a dev to port it to 32a.

Might get by using Redglasses Kernel. Can't say for sure it will Boot though.

So the userspace part is always the same for 32A and 32B?

I've created 32A porting package for eugene's Tattoo ROM some time ago and was about to mention it, but as I see now, in the chaos of the past few weeks, I somehow forgot to upload and share it...I'll check it up against the latest ROM and upload it later today.

i need to push a file into the system so i have to use adb. this is what i get:
adb remount
remount failed: invalid argument
adb push libsqlite.so /system/lib/libsqlite.so
1179 KB/s <282528 bytes in 0.234s>
adb shell reboot
so is this mean i successfully push the file? so something wrong? but things seem to be the same and my problem still doesn't solve. could u help please?

"remount failed" indicates that adb didn't manage to mount your filesystem read-write. Since its still read-only "adb push" fails (silently).
if you can execute commands "mount -o remount,rw /dev/$DEVICE" where $DEVICE is the device you want to remount read-write should do it - or at least give you a more sensible error message. "dmesg|tail" might also indicate whats wrong.

[Dev Tool] Fix Broken Installed Apps / fix packages.xml

This tool is mainly for Dev's
It reinstalls all apks on /data/app /data/app-private
I noticed when playing around too much with apps - It would get the error saying sigs in package don't match packages.xml (android.something.blah)
I would just throw this in a build in case

It's weird how a lot of tools used nowadays originate from the G1 forums... you see the apktool thread bump up often for example even though things like that were made years ago.

Well reinventing the wheel is hard to do lol
All you can do is tweak it/mod it/add to it/customize it...
But its still the same at its core
I just may add this to SuperCharger (have it generate an "App Repair" script)
btw didn't cyanogenmod originate on the G1?

Sure did, most of the well known devs came from here, and most others use this thread as a referance to their own work

ok.i edited packages.xml (removed a non existed package)
i move packages.xml to /data/system/ replacing previus one.
deleted dalvik
reboot.
stuck at bootloop
if i dont delete dalvik phone rebbots ok but packages.xml is restored to previus state...
what else can i do?

thats awesome. how long, estimate, do you think it will be before we see a working build?

I am hoping for sometime this week depending on if i can get the wifi and bluetooth working as this was the only issues i have found so far

would love a version with apps2sd...not really intersted in wifi tethering as my work provides me with a thinkpad with built in mobile broadbrand...

I ran all this without a single problem on my USCC Desire. Best to back it all up just to be safe.

Then you have a bunch of data files in /data/data you can get rid of.
to the OP: Glad to here you got something going on this device. Looking for a big jump in performance with froyo.

to do a backup you would need the custom recovery and there is an option in recovery to do a backup. APP2SD rom has been uploaded working on the other as media fire seems to be down

If you boot to recovery, and do a backup from there, you should be set.

gonna flash the apps2sd version when i get home....
Now the backup I created can be restored anytime, or once I flash the apps2sd rom supplied here, will I need a new a backup (kinda like windows phone, once it was flashed old backups didnt work)
also has anyone tried the apps2sd version here... how much free space is there on internal memory?
