Does anybody know how to add new cities on weather tab?. I want to add mine in Spain. I tried to use the editor for Diamond 1 but doesn´t work on D2.
Tanhs a lot.
Add your own city to weather tab:
Credit to turnstar
1. Copy 2330fc3c_manila from your windows directory onto your PC
2. Download SQLite Administrator.
3. Download WeatherDatabaseEditor 1.2 and install to your device (you won't actually be using this but it adds a reg key that is essential to making this work. (I'm not sure what it adds but this is what the orig instructions I read said to do))
4.Open the manila file using SQLite Administrator on your PC (make sure you select all files when trying to open or it wont show up) then select the "Edit Data" tab and highlight cities in the tree on the left, all you gotta do now is pick a city you'd never use and edit the CityName, Country and accuweathercode to match the city you plan to add.
5. Place the edited copy of 2330fc3c_manila into your windows directory and soft reset the device.
6. Go into the TF3D weather tab and select your city from the list (this will also add your city to the calender tab)

Thanks. It's work for me.
Yesss!. Works very well. Thanks a lot.
Oh yesss works a treat. Had to install Total Commander to transfer the edit file back to the Windows Folder though as the standard File explorer wouldn't let me do it.
Another intuitive TF3D configuration option from HTC
Worked also for me on my TD2, but i didn't use the WeatherDatabaseEditor version 1.2, instead of that i also installed Total Commander on my phone. With Total Commander i just copied the edited "2330fc3c_manila" file from the memory card to the \Windows directory off the phone.
Looking at the Cab file for WeatherDatabaseEditor, the only registry change it makes is:
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.ServerURLOverride="http://weather.not2advanced.com/htcweather/forecastdata.php?ac=XDADevs&locCode=%25ls&version= 1&device=innovation"
Just thought I'd point that out for those who will end up making a Cab file to install the weather modification as needed when re-flashing instead of installing unnecessary software again.

You can just tap and hold on it in File Explorer and tap "Copy" then in File Explorer go to My Device --> Windows --> Start Menu --> Programs and paste it in there.
the exe file has to be installed through activesync.
Not necessarily. Sometimes an app is downloaded as an EXE and you run it on your PC and it installs via ActiveSync. But sometimes you download an EXE and it is supposed to run on the phone.
If you use the file explorer to make a shortcut to the exe rather than copying the exe, you don't have to copy any dependencies across.

I tried this first before posting this topic, and after reading some instructions, learnt that the only way to get it to appear in the Programs list is to install it via Activesync.
note: i recall that some one was able to extract the cab file (from exe files needing to be installed via activesync) from the installation so that future installs can be achieved without activesync.
EDIT: Okay, I found the solution myself
Once again, for every HD2 User...MTP is working fine on the HD2, here´s how to set it up:
1. Install MTP
2. Turn off Sense (otherwise you won't be able to perform step 3).
2. install MTP Apple Icon.zip (if you want to have the apple icon instead of the silver windows one...i made a *.cab here)
3. Under \windows delete the file ManilaFull.xml.
4. With a registry editor, delete the key \HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Configuration.
5. Activate Sense and reorder your tabs (by deleting xml and reg key you'll revert to default order).
Have fun, I´m using it with calendar+...good alternative

1. This folder seems to represent the arrangement of the slidericons in manila (default: 12 icons --> 12 subfolders in this folder)...i hope this answered your question.
2. Right! RegKey = Point 4, xml = Point 3

Would the deleted ManilaFull.xml be restored automatically should we uninstall MTP?
Basically, I don't want to screw up the original Manila after installing/uninstalling MTP. MTP is uninstallable, ya?
I havn´t screwed up anything after deinstalling MTP...just delete the manilafull and the configurationkey again and...finish!
Thanks for the clarification.

i do understand your comment Nagrom Nniuq That´s why I´ve written "once again, for every HD2 user". I didn´t want to bask in s.o. glory here, as you can see, I have edited my first post, because once there was the question how to bring the MTP Icon into the manila settings to reconfigure the position of it. I deleted the question as soon as I found the solution paryav gave in the post you´ve linked above.
Sorry if this has lead to some bad thoughts. Just wanted to share the solution
PS: I only added the Cabfile for the apple-icon and corrected the manual within this point

Hi,
Thank you for all these good work.
I installed your Manila TV tab with no problem.
the MTP with the above steps for me is installing and the tab is in my manila but everytime I reboote, it give me and error which my manila is not supported, unable to patch.
also my windows have a start button at the bottom and when I add plugins in MTP configuration, I don't have the OK button to save it in the config.
I have the same issue with your MTP v 5 .
My Rom is : Cap's special 6.5 with sense 2.5
OS version : 5.2.28011
Manila : 2.5.19211619.0.cfc
Rom version : 5.12.28011 WWE
Radio : 1.17.25.09
nobody wants to put screen shot?
Can anyone guide me through the uninstallation?
Hello all.
Greetings.
I am using FB 6.5 rom. I am currently located in gangtok, india, so there is no weather option for that city. got the location code which is ASI|IN|IN030|GANGTOK, but I am not able to edit the HTC weather file in Windows folder. I used CE Total Commander to change the attribute of the weather database file but in vain.
Is there any other editor which I can use to edit the windows file on my HTC S710?
Thanks.
Here you go.
BTW, the modified file will only work if FB is using a modified dll, but you will see if it's working.
Just replace the file with the one froom me after you modified it.
Hi,
Thank you for the quick response.
I added two entries in the table referring to the location given in http://www.accuweather.com.
The locations are:: Darjeeling, IN;ASI|IN|IN036|DARJEELING;India and Gangtok, IN;ASI|IN|IN030|GANGTOK;India
However when I try to update the weather choosing the entered location that is Darjeeling IN or Gangtok IN it, it says attempting to download data.... and after sometimes it says Unable to retrieve date for selected city.
Is there anything I am doing wrong?
Please suggest.
Also repplace this file!
Hello.
I have placed the "WeatherUpdateService.zip" file in the windows folder still I am not getting the weather update.
After I placed this file "WeatherUpdateService.zip". I guess I am facing another issue, coz I am not able to change to another city from the list.
When i select another city, it stays is the pervious selected one.
You have to unzip it....
HI frauhottelmann. Thanks for being so kind. Actually I have unzipped and place the containing file. Once I place that file I was unable to switch between cities.
thsnks.
Tested now Open Mobile Maps for 3 weeks and after tweaking one little thing it works flawless on my HD 2 (1.48 ROM GER, CHT 1.6)
Download: http://omm.mine.nu/
To get worldwide maps onto the mSD-Card You have to tweak the maps-xml-file in osmcache-folder manually ´cause change of download path in the prog itself didn´t work for me (err-mess).
Edited it with free MS XML-Notepad 2007 to change download cache-path from RAM to mSD-card.
Works nicely with free OSM (Open Street Maps) and 4 other free Map-sources that can be switched according to needs. Other sources can be added.
Great prog that can be used as backup and/or Navi in aereas w/o map-coverage from commercial navi-progs.
i am not having much luck with changing the cache path to storage card. what exactly did you do?
I changed in <storage>\osmcache</storage> line to <storage>\Storage Card\osmcache</storage> in ommconfig.xml but now the program crashes.
do we also need to modify maps.xml under osmcache?
thank you very much in advance!
I found a way to use all possible map providers like google, bing and yahoo with openmobilemaps 1.4.
just copy the maps.xml from the attached zip file into "\application data\openmobilemaps\" and it should work!

I corrected Your maps.xml-file for direct download to storage card. Will install OMM 1.4 and test Your xml. Wonder if it really works with google maps.
EDIT: PUT THIS maps.xml-file in the osmcache-folder on the STORAGE CARD ! In case You have ROMs with diff. languages You will have to change the name "Storage Card" to Your own language with a xml. editor (free from Microsoft !). Put the maps.xml file in post below in device mem-folder Application Data !

I now replaced the original maps.xml with Your xml, providing google-maps etc. but the choice does not show up in the maps menu. I compared the original maps.xml file from OMM 1.4 with Your xml in the xml-editor and google and all other additional map-sources have 3-4 http:- source-lines while the "add maps" function in OMM provides only one line for http:- source.
How did You manage to get the additional maps there ? Maybe You can post some screenshots ?
EDIT: found the problem! I always install progs on sd card and OMM puts a folder also in the root directory of device in the Application Data - Folder. This maps.xml file has to be edited seperately since it needs a "\" in front of "Storage Card" which it does not need in the maps.xml-file on the storage card in the cache folder. Now it works brilliantly ! Attached the file to replace maps.xml in the Device root folder

Great app, but you have to donate a bit to use all features.
maps.xml for german language
Hello.
Adding map-servers to OMM works fine when you follow the instructions of this thread. So for those who like a step-by-step-instruction, here is a description, how to add more maps to OMM on a Windows Mobile device:
1. Look for the XML-file which needs to be edited in the directory
/application data/OpenMobileMaps/maps.xml
on your mobile device.
2. Rename the file f.e. to maps-working.xml and keep it as a fallback solution.
3. Unpack the attached maps-(extended -rename to maps).zip to maps-(extended -rename to maps).xml and put it into the folder
/application data/OpenMobileMaps
on your mobile device.
4. Rename the copied "maps-(extended -rename to maps).xml" in the folder to
"maps.xml"
That's all.
Start OMM and enjoy the added map servers.
The attached file "maps-(extended -rename to maps).zip" is for a device with default german language, where "Storage Card" is called "Speicherkarte".
If your device uses another language than german, you have to edit "maps-(extended-rename to maps).xml" before you put it on your mobile device.
Doing that is simple.
1. Open the file in any editor (not with a word processor like Word).
2. Change all "Speicherkarte" to the equivalent word in the language of the device (f.e. "Storage Card" for English). Save it.
3. You are done.
This worked for me and my Windows Mobile device.
Thank you again for this lovely application.
I've been struggling to get my mms setting configured for a year now with no luck. I have a LG Optimus 7 from 2010 pdc conference.
I'm trying to configure mms settings for the carrier Viaero (small nebraska/colorado carrier). The settings i need are defined at http://viaeronetops.blogspot.com/
The device is ChevronWP7 unlocked. and Interop Unlocked.
I've tried all the suggestions out there, set ADC (no luck), select the provider xml in mfg - Set network profiles (no luck, need different settings). Lg Network Setup app (doesn't list the carrier settings i need)
I've come to the conclusion i need to copy a custom xml config file to the phone then select the xml file in mfg - Set network profiles. I believe i have created the xml config file i need (see attached file) based off of the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022833&highlight=mms+settings&page=3
Now how to get the file to the phone. I have windows phone device manager 1.8 from TouchExperience installed. I can copy the file to \My Documents but not to \Windows. The file never shows up in the mfg - Set network profiles. Do i need to copy the file to \Windows (How do i do this) or can i select the file that i copied to \My Documents a different way.
I've seen other paces that say to use Wp7UsbStorageEnabler.exe to show you phone in explorer, tried this but i only see a single directory, tried copying the file into the directory, no luck.
Please help this is really my only complaint about wp7 and would really like to get this solved.
To sum it up, how do i copy a custom carrier xml confg file to the phone and select it.
thanks
scott
I've been trying to get copy files to work using DiagProvXML (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238519&highlight=provxml) but i can't get any file copies to work.
Is this because of the LG phone?
Are there special steps i need to use. Currently i'm using
-File Operations
-Click the + symbol
-Click save provxml
-Go back to the main screen provxml
-Click the save icon at the bottom of the screen
I get no errors but the file operation never works.
