Searched - nothing came up. So, the question is, is it possible to set the tab height somehow for default windows like Start -> Settings, where there are 3 tabs - Personal, System and Connections?
Thanks.
hmm.. first time i've stumbled into this issue.. i'll look it up
OK, thanks in advance!
Shouldn't have thanked You in advance... It's been like two weeks and even after I sent You a PM nothing has been going on. If You can't make it, please say so, it sucks to leave people waiting...
The tab height is controlled solely by the text within it. By default this is system font Tahoma 8pt. In .NET, there is no property or method to change the height of the tab, you can only change the type or size of font and the tabs will then be resized to accomodate it.
If the window uses the system font, in the case of Settings, it's a certainty, then the only way you would have any control over it is to change the system font. There are several articles here on xdadevs to tell you how, search Windows Mobile Change System Font, and pick one. The downside is, it will apply to everything, not just tabs, whether you want it to or not.
Thanks for the thorough reply! I guess I won't be changing the system font because of the other drawbacks...

Hi, I'd like to make my fonts look like the ones that they advertise with the crossbow. I mean i'd like to have my whole system with those fonts but i don't know how. I've done tons of searching but i could not find anything that would help me change the fonts of my whole system (unless i build my own rom with those fonts but that's too complicated for me). Is there another way? i've found some threads that's suppose to change the fonts but it messed up my fone, others do not change the whole system but just some fonts. All WM6 roms that i've used do not have those fonts that I'm talking about. I'd like to make it like the fonts on this picture. Can someone help me please?
Is there anyone out there who can help/suggest something/make me read another thread/tell me it's not possible/whatever...?anyone?

I don´t think it is so easy - but what about cleartype. The font doesn´t look so different for me. Just cleartype?? Don´t know.
Start - settings - screen - enable cleartype.
And there are registry hacks to enable it also in landscape mode. (Registrywizard or HTweakC)
thanks, but i already have cleartype on. not quite the same but i really appreciate ur reply. With over 240+ views, i finally received a reply. At least i can say ur one of the few people out there who genuinely lend a helping hand to others. I really appreciate it thanks again
Looking at the screengrabs I think they're from a VGA device (a HTC Universal for example), which is why the fonts looks slightly smoother and more rounded. The font on the XDA Exec I borrowed looked a lot nicer than my XDA Mini-S just because it was higher res, despite the actual screen real-estate being used in the same way (IE. although the screen was higher res, everything was larger to compensate). The effect I saw looked just like in some of your screenshots - particularly the first portrait one.
thanks paulmdx!i guess that explains it. it probably looks different because of the vga screen. Thanks, i guess i'll just have to give up on wishing that my fonts be like that
Sorry for my late response...I was suppose to reply back to you after you reminded me that the fonts could be changed...I managed to change the fonts by adding the files to the font folder in the \windows\fonts directory...the extention you are looking for is .ttf...I tried to use a font with a different extention and it didn't work...also if you are looking for fonts then your best bet is http://dafont.com ...they have the best looking fonts, and they have popular fonts used in movies, video games, etc...the one that I am running is aiight, and the one that i put on my girl's is the Walt Disney font...one more thing, after you put the fonts on your ppc you will need to have a program to change the font for you, or you'll need to either change some registry key to enable it (I don't know the keys), or use a program like Tweaks2k2.net to change it...it's not a free program, but you'll be able to use the program 3 times before you have to register it...I don't if you were looking for the font used in WM6 or you were looking for a way to change fonts on the ppc, but anyways here's some info for those who wanted to do this...
Btw this only changes some fonts, but not all of them...it's better this way just in case you put a font that is blurry, too small, etc...while I was trying out fonts for my girl's phone, this happened to me...if all the fonts on the ppc were changed, I wouldn't have been able to find the options easily to change the font...looks awesome though...even my keyboard font changed...my cousin said I'm ghetto because my font looks like tagging lol...
Missing font!
While we are on this topic.....Some of my fonts are messed up!
I installed the 10 button Comm Manager and couldn't get the WLAN to activate. I then went back to the 8 button Comm Manager. Later I found a fix for the 10 and uninstalled the 8. When I did it messed up my fonts. Does anyone have the stock fonts they can send me?
Shep
First off, I want to say a big thanks to all the wm6 developers, you are all doing a great job!
I recently upgraded from the stock T-mobile SDA wm5 ROM to vjgrace’s v3.4 wm6 ROM. The one thing I notice is that the fonts in the contact list (well, when editing the ‘notes’ field for a contact) are way bigger. And in the settings, you can only select ‘Normal’ and ‘Large’ for the system font size. On my old SDA rom, I'm pretty sure that you could select ‘Small’ as the font size from the list. Anyways, I usually fill the ‘notes’ field of each contact in my contact list with lots of crap, so it is important for me to have a smaller font size there.
I've searched the Internet for a few days looking for registry hacks or whatever I can find to fix this issue, but the only lead I have found is a program called “Tweaks2K2 .Net for Pocket PC.” It has a hack to change the system font size. However when I installing the demo of the program, it would always crash on boot.
When I e-mailed the author about it, he replied “Wm6 from XDA-developers? If that's the case, it's nothing that I can do about it.”
There is also a version called ““Tweaks2K2 .Net for Smartphone,” which is probably the one I should've downloaded, but unfortunately this one does not have a hack to change system font size.
So if anyone does have any information on changing the system font size through the registry, or knows of a wm6 ROM that has ‘Small’ fonts as an option for system font size, or any other useful tidbit of information, please let me know!
Thanks,
Ian
Hi,
I've been looking for an easy way to change the font on my TP.
I've tried someones cab file which works, but then I can only use the font supplied in the CAB.
Someone else suggested copying the new ttf over the existing one and renaming it..
eg, new font is red.ttf, rename to tahoma.ttf and copy over existing tahoma.ttf
but, in my windows/font folder I don't have tahoma!!
maybe this is a result of a theme I installed (the font in the font foler is nyama or something)
so, what is the quickest and easiet way to change system font?
thanks
Use this tool ,it works for me
but this app only has 3-4 fonts in it...I want to be able to add any font I like. is there a way to do that?
can I add fonts to this app and therefore make them selectable?

ok..I found out that if you add fonts to the windows font folder then they appear in the drop down as selectable with this app..
however...I can't change the system font (I say system font, but I mean the main one, that is displayed on the now page in SPB MS etc. it stays as tahoma...and what's even more interesting is that I can't find the tahoma font anywhere on the device!! (I was going to copy over this with my new font)
so...has anyone got any other ideas about how to change the font on the TP?
As you can see here I've changed my font for the entire device (you might not see that it's for the entire device but it is) the rest of what I know is in that post, cheers
I seem to recall that Tweaks 2K2.NET allowed you to change fonts as well (via the registry) but be prepared for disproportionate buttons and dialogs which may flow off the screen.
Did you want to change the fonts as a user pref thing or is it in order to increase their size and make them easier to read?
just a user preference thing. I find the tahoma font quite boring. Tweaks2k2 does allow you to change fonts but again, not the main one.
I can't quite understand it. you can change the one in the drop down menus, the dialogue boxes etc but the main one (for sms or emails for example) stays the same.
Pixel, I could've sworn that I did this on my wife's PPC.
Using Tweaks2K2.NET, you can change the system font and size.
The only caveat is that you have to have the font installed to your PPC's \Windows\Fonts folder first.
Wait a sec. Lemme g00gle this...

I'm sorry if this doesn't help. I might not be understanding what you are trying to do.
Take care!
thanks for your efforts. I had to hard reset my device last night after weeks of happy life. so I'm going to get round to changing the font with the methods as indicated as soon as I've finished all my other config work that is required.
first hi to all and congratulations for this nice forum and community!
i was reading a lot in the forum the past and now i have to ask my first question. it´s about the possibility to change the font size of touchflow3d (winmobile 6.5)?
the father of my girlfrfiend got de d2 as a gift on his birthday, but the font is undersized for him.
so is it possible to change the font size primarly in contacts, sms and settings?

I am having the same issue and have been unable to find any info.
Several people have suggested advanced config, which has several font settings, but they do not seem to have any effect, at least on my device.
You may want to give it a try on yours.
Go to settings > system settings > screen and there is an option to change font size, see if that works for you. I didn't for me, but who knows

I've still not found a way to adjust fonts with TouchFlo, but at least for popup menus, you can disable TouchFlo, and then the device will go back to using Windows fonts, which can be adjusted using Advanced Config or other tool.
You can use TD2 Tools, go to the TouchFLO tab, and uncheck Enable TouchFlo Popup Menus.
First of all, I am rooted. I have searched through pages and pages to try to track down an initial setting for S Note to configure font. I know how to change font within text, or after doing handwriting to text. However, I would like S Note to always type in Ariel 8pt instead of the huge Robotic 16pt font used by default. I don't need to be able to see integrals from across campus, so 16pt is a little large for my taste.
My question is, is there a configuration file which can be edited somewhere with root explorer?

Install Xposed Framework and then App Settings module. From there you can change font scale.

Unfortunately, no joy on the font scaling adjustment. Got framework and app settings installed, scaled it down to 50 with no change in the default font size for handwriting to text. It isn't a huge deal, was just hoping to adjust something that will hopefully be considered with the next software update.
