Video calls with Polaris - Touch Cruise General

Hello,my girlfriend has just purchased a used polaris with a cooked rom,the problem is that the dialler hasn't the selection for video calls,Also when she has an incoming video call the backlight is open but no answering choice is appeared, thus cannot make or receive video calls.Have you any solution?
thanks.

Does your network provider support 3G, that's my only guess. As you need a 3G network to be able to Video Call, if not, maybe try flashing a new cooked rom onto the phone.

Also make sure your dialler supports video calls, just do a search for 3g dialler or video dialler.

I never use video but you could try here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=489409&highlight=video+dialer for a list of 3g dialers

i'm using c_shekar rom and have a same problem, and also my device detected as if it has no built in cam, but the camera can take photos or videos for sure

Basically - No.
Video calling, even receiving, requires a 3G connection. Period.
(Of course, streaming video is another matter...)
ok.. requiring.. but is possible to have a 3G ---TO---> EDGE/WI-FI connection managed by software?
If the answer is no, there is an application that can do video call by VoIP:
example:
windows mobile phone ---> computer (cam)
windows mobile phone ---> home phone (cam)
windows mobile phone ---> windows mobile phone
windows mobile phone ---> 3G phone*
I've seen that skype for mobile don't support videocall.. other ideas?

videocalls in european 3g networks (UMTS)

could anyone make videocalls in Europe using FFC (front face camera)?
my mt4 works perfectly in UMTS 2100 and shows HSDPA speeds, but i cant even find an option of a videocall
could someone clarify the things?
You should be able to check your App Drawer for Qik thats what you use for video called
but i prefer Fring because i used it before
i meant using ffc in regular videocalls via GSM/3G, not via GPRS Internet
just like other mobile phones call
who uses the stock tmous rom, please tell me if there is an option of making videocall?
video calling isn't built in, you need to use 3rd party apps from the market. yes you can make the video calls over 3g
wooh.. can someone explain step by step how to make a call?
installed both fring and qik
fring has only voip calling (via gprs)
qik has even no option of call, only video record and share
maybe im expressing unclear, but i want to make a videocall not only to other android phone that uses the same (or equal) app, but to every phone that has ffc (nokia smartphones, etc)

In order for video calling to work you must use some app, and the ones you just mentioned happen to be the most popular.
I am a new to android and asked this as i could always make video call on my touch hd wm without going for any other application with normal airtime call charges.

[Q] Add network video call feature?

Hi,
Is there any way to add 'network' video calling to an HTC Sensation?
I can Skype and use other third party software apps to video call over the internet but I was curious to know if I can add something to add a network video call to my Sensation to make video calls straight over the network?
My mate's S2 can video call and on occasion I'd like to call them without having to use Skype as at the moment I have to call him, tell him to turn on Skype then recall on Skype to make a video call.
Thanks
It would help to know what carrier and ROM you are using and if your phone is rooted or not.
HTC Sensation on Three UK, rooted handset, leaked HTC ICS ROM.
Thanks
Guessing that's a 'NO' then

Is there no software for video calling on this cell phone?
J2ME is limited so video calling is impossible unless the firmware supports it.
Touch Menu
Touch Contacts
Touch the contact you want to call
Touch the phone icon next to the phone number
Touch the Video call icon in the centre of the screen.
this is what i found hope it works
