Hi All,

share an Activ sync connection over lan

hi there!
i got an umts enabled device. i connected it on my laptop and use it though ics (active sync).
now another laptop is connectet with an crossover cable to mine.
the problem is:
how to share this active sync ics umts connection to the other client?
thx 4 help
well, you can use Wifirouter to create an access point and connect with more than one comp
if you want to share the connection thru your laptop... to my knowledge, you'll have to go to control panel.. and go to the network card's propeties and enable
the sharing of internet connection. this option varies depending on your OS... so just search for it.

Conect 3g modem to my phone?

I have an htc touch pro 2, anyway I can hook it up there if I would like to?
Thanks
when connected to activesync your phone will have the same network connection as your pc unless you turned it off
you can't use usb devices directly with htc phones
you can most likely put the simcard of the device as they got simscards inside at least places where people use sincards which may exclude some parts of usa into the phone and set the gprs settings correctly and use it that way

HD2 as internet source through WLAN?

I wonder if there's any app/program that can make me use my HD2 as a internet source through WLAN? I've already searched the forum for this kind of question without sucess, so now I wonder if this option are availible in the HD2 or if someone could make a app for that.
And if it is availible as a option in the HD2, I'd really need some instructions.

theres a program called wifi router in the phone. where you can connect your laptop or pc too and use your data connection to access the internet.

Yes. I know that =) But with WiFi router I can't use WLAN as a internet source right?
So what do you want?
HSDPA --> HD2 --> wifi --> laptop?
Wifi --> HD2 --> wifi/usb --> laptop?
I think it's the latter.
You can connect your HD2 to an access point. However, then it is in infrastructure mode. It only has one radio with no virtual radio option. You cannot connect to a WLAN network AND simultaneously broadcast your own ad-hoc one.
However, you can connect the device to a WLAN network and connect it via usb to a laptop and then when it connects select 'internet modem' out of active sync and disk drive on the menu that appears on the phone.
Then disable the phone in commanager to force it to use wifi.
His question isn't clear at all, but I presume it's rather Wifi->HD2->laptop via USB, i.e make a USB Wifi dongle. In that case, WMWifirouter can do it.

as soon as he plugs in the HD2 via usb it will offer the 'use phone as gateway' option. no need to dialup I think. i havent tested it tho.
your laptop has no Wife function ?
perhaps he has another need for a second wifi card...yes, you techies know why you would need more than one wifi device or mac address...tehee, yes you do
Enchanter has a point though - why not get a usb dongle or pcmcia stick?
Better performance, less heat/strain on phone.

Look for Wifi Remote Access. Turns HD2 into something like a web server. You can browse and upload files to it from any other computer.
Okay thank you, and yes i mean Wifi --> HD2 --> wifi/usb --> laptop/PC.
Need it because of my wifi card is broken, and sometimes it is really usefull to have something like this.
And thank you all =) Will try what you recommended.

[Q] Using HTC One (M7) as a bridge for landline internet to create wifi hotspot.

Okay, so here's what I'd like to do:
I have a Laptop which is Wifi Only. (No Ethernet Connector)
I have a Desktop which is Ethernet Only. No Wifi Card.
I have an HTC one.
You can get internet onto the HTC One without Wifi or Network Data by connecting it via USB to my computer. You can also, create a Wifi Hotspot with the One, but it generally uses network data to do so.
What I would like to do is connect my laptop to the internet using the HTC One as a bridge to my landline internet connection through my PC.
Internet ==> (non wireless) Modem ==> PC ==> HTC One -})}> Laptop
Can anyone help me accomplish this?
