I rooted my 2.1 Evo using Unrevoked about a month ago, and I keep putting off the OTA updates to 2.2. How do I update to 2.2 and maintain root (and wi-fi hotspot), if that's possible? My H-boot is 0.79.0000. That's about the extent I know about all this. Could someone shoot me a link in the right direction? Looking for some basic noob directions.

Hello and thank you for this forum.
I decided to buy an HTC EVO after seeing some ads on my local craigs list about thethering (wifi hotspot) on Cricket service.
I decided to buy a brand new phone unpacked with a clean esn.
Hired a pro to flash it to cricket, and then found out I would also need to root it afterwards. This guy did not offer rooting.
So found a second pro to root it and after I paid him, discovered the wifi hotspot does not work. His answer to me was search the web to learn how to use it. Great.
So while trying to figure out how to use the wifi hotspot, found out how to load htcsync from the phone to my pc. Never did figure how to fix the wifi hotspot and now, the 3g quit working all together.
Of course, these experts have my money and wont return my calls.

I guess my first question is what does this phone information tell you? I have been reading the net and watching videos for a week now (when I have time) and am so confused and afraid I am going to ruin this new phone. Looks like the OS has been reverted from 2.2 to 2.1? I am guessing Bugless Beast is the ROM? Where should I begin to fix this phone myself? Thank you.

Hello everyone,
I have some questions about the Danger Rom 2.1 Rom for Cellular South HTC Hero CDMA.
1) Wireless Tethering is not working. After starting the app it asks if my phone is rooted. It was rooted and working prior to putting Danger Rom 2.1 on the phone, but now it will not tether.
2)How is Apps2SD supposed to work with this ROM? I do not have an app for it when I loaded the ROM so should I download one or does the application run in the background? I was also thinking maybe there was a setting issue that I did not have enabled/disabled.

Looking for a little advice, I want to root my UK Xoom Wifi but the threads I've read seem to be a bit ambiguous about whether the methods work or if it will root Android 3.1, can anyone help?
