I understand the annoyance on these forums at all of the n00b behavior, lately on what is meant to be a more professional forum. However, on closer look you will realize that he has only posted in the forum twice. I do encourage everyone to read the rules, search, and read the thread before posting, but when someone really is a n00b, give them a break and point them in the right direction. It makes life easier, in the long run, for us all.

Here we go again. Seriously people, just relax. Dutty is having some of us do beta testing to ensure that we find any issues before releasing to the public. This is especially important because he is without his phone for the time being. Just be patient and it will be released as soon as it is ready.

Saw the report at boygenius, but that was a device without touchscreen.
And there is nothing wrong with beta testing, as long as it doesnt take too long

I read that alot of programs like opera are currently uncompatible with windows 6.1

im testing the rom right now and no offense to dutty because i dont think it has anything to do with him but does have to do with the source of this ROM (chinese site), and in short - this rom kinda sucks. Basically adds nothing other than threaded SMS, and you have to have the calendar say its back in 2007 or the beta expires, which also screws up trying to connect to your exchange server. I honestly think that we should just leave this shady 6.1 alone until we get a real working version that isnt timebombed.
When will WM6.1 come?
Whenever the cookers manage to get something working.
Incidentally, if any of the cookers are interested, someone has a fully-functioning-I-think WM6.1 for Vox.

there won't be official ROM, I think he means Windows Mobile 6.1 relase at all, not a specific ROM
Besides, Microsoft doesn't release ROM, manufacturer like HTC release ROM
If you just want to play and don't mind a few bugs, I can whip one up in about an hour or less.
I don't really have the time to carefully test every feature so it would just be a ROM for tinkering with.

I would test it too. If posible, keep it "Near Vanilla" (as clean as posible if thats an option)

Which is your favorite 6.5 rom and build and why? Speed, least number of bugs, or are you convinced that 6.1 is better? Just curious.
As far build numbers go, Im assuming that the higher the number, the faster and more bug free, or is there some finalized RC build out there?
Erm the higher the number the latest the build number, WM 6.5 gets officially released on the 11th May. 6.5 is far far batter then 6.0 and 6.1 imho. I am currently running Chinhe wm 6.5F 21501 build. I think its his 1st attempt at making a ROM and it runs sweet as, very fast, not found any bugs so far except I had to set up the internet settings on it.
I cant wait till 6.5 gets officially released and more cooking takes place.

I think for a 'beta' Abusalza's is the best. I have tried a number of 6.5's but overall they do not compare in a 'great' way.

yeah i've been searching for it also, and apparently the May 11th date wasn't the public release date,.. IF they released it at all its for business or for the companies to start preparing their phones for them for the summer or fall...
But as long as a public release, nothing yet.. and no date is given either.
Yeah, it's not like a PC, where you can just grab Windows and install it. It has to be cooked by the vendor.
Then what is that 6.5 what we are seeing on this forum? From where the developers got it. I installed on my phone but it didn't work for me.

They are not so much betas as incomplete. the Roms were leaked from different places (HTC, tmobile, MS, ect)

No, Windows Mobile 7 will not be released anytime soon. The problem is that 6.5 hasn't even been officially released, and what I mean by that is that they release phones with it included, so therefore, 7 will not be released soon.

Please search before creating a new thread.
WM7 facts are far and few between but we know there will be no official 6.5 for the Kaiser, so don't expect anything offical WM7 wise.
When WM7 builds start leaking we'll start trying to get it working on the Kaiser for sure.
Til' then, I'll close this before the regulars start revolting (actually they are pretty revolting already )
