wifi tether in JACxHERO rom

where can i find that app for wifi tethering that JACxHERO has on its builds? Would love to install it on cyanogen rom.

Super User 2.1

Has anyone else tried this out? I've installed it and find the interface much more user friendly. For my Hero with Fresh ROM 2.1, I needed the su-2.1-e-unsecure-signed.zip version. You can find it here
It did break WiFi Tether 1.60 though. Upgrading to version 1.70-pre2 solved it.
This is in Darchdroid. Works great

Yup, works stock rooted. I was just complaing about it not working and bam, updated today.
Could anyone verify if this would work on non-root? Don't have my friends Evo here today.
Thanks

It is a root only app.
yeah sorry just noticed this is wirelesstether..
I believed it was the stock froyo tether app.
Would be nice if someone tried extracting the Froyo tether app from the Nexus One.

if sprint blocked the one in the evo what makes you think the onefor the nexus one would work? Same program essentially, this program works just fine
the stock android tether doesn't need root.

you're right but sprint blocked it so if they ported over the one from the nexus one i doubt it would work
Hey everyone, the latest WiFi Tether app that was released today is working for all 2.2 Rooted Sense ROMs as far as I know. I'm still running the .3 pre-release and it's working for me. I did not flash any custom kernels, just the plain rooted Froyo/Sense ROM. Limited to TWO connections at this time but it IS WORKING.

Wonderful, gonna try it out now, tx..
When I checked 30 minuted ago this was not on the list. I downloaded pre-6 and finally got it working. Someone said theirs wouldn't work on pre-7.
Is anyone else experiencing unreliable tethering? I tried a clean install of Fresh Evo 3.1.0.1 with both the stock kernel and with netarchy's 3.7.6c. Using pre7 I can at least get connected with the stock kernel, but I can't stay connected. After a minute or two my connection always drops.
WiFi Tether has been working since pre-5 for me with the custom kernel on this site.

Correct, but until today you had to flash the custom kernel for it to work. Now this works even on the stock kernel.
yea i just tried this with fresh 3.1.0.1 no custom kernel (waiting for 8mp) and it works perfect, infastructure mode too not stupid ad hoc!
your a little late OP i already created a thread about this:

Adhoc tethering question

I'm wondering if anyone might have suggestions on getting AdHoc Wifi working. I got a new phone that currently only supports adhoc for wifi tether. I can tether it to vista and win7 laptops fine, but the Transformer never sees it in wifi.
I've dug through the thread and can't seem to find any info on getting it to work besides waiting for it to pop into the list.
I've never used ad hoc before as my previous EVO supported infrastructure mode.
Any help would be great.
What version of Honeycomb are u running ??
IIRC, all Prime versions supports Ad-hoc wifi , before 1.7 a modified wpa_supplicant was used, after that Asus have natively support Ad-hoc wifi

That's really strange. I just tested with Prime 1.9.1 connecting to my Android phone android wifi tether (ad hoc mode) and everything is working as expected.
Maybe you have a bad flash ? Why not u try wiping cache and dalvik reboot and try. If still fail, do a reflash and try.
Good luck !
No problems with mine using the tether on on htc evo running synergy..

Android-wifi-tether on the paranoid android rom

Hi all,
So I'm running the Paranoid Android JB rom from the android development section. All is well, aside from tethering. The tethering built in to the rom works fine but _only_ when I have the wifi in non-secure mode (no wifi password).
Also, android-wifi-tether doesn't work at all (even with the different profile changes as suggested elsewhere).
I suppose insecure wifi is usable for now, but has anyone had any luck with the combination above? Thanks.
Might look into this
