[SOLVED] Phone won't turn on. Orange led blinking.

Hello.
I have a problem.
The battery discharged and phone turns off.
I pluged wall charger and orange led blinking (about 20minutes now).
I just try to remove and reinsert battery, with no luck.
The phone won't turn on and orange led still blinking.
It's oryginal htc sensation battery, and have about half year.
Any help???
Maybe it's extremely drained, leave it on charge a bit more.
Or seek Help here:

I´ve got this as well. You can fully charge your phone until the LED becomes green, and it wont start either.
Just pull out the accu after you charged it a bit and insert it again. Plugin the AC and start the Sensa as allways.
But now you will probably recorgnise, that your accu percentage is different to the infomation in power-menu...
If you have CWM on the phone it won't charge when fully drained - hence the flashing orange LED
You need to either use a separate battery charger OR (and this is what I did):
1. Remove the battery
2. Cut a strip of a fabric plaster (bandaid) and use it to cover the middle 2 contacts on the battery, making sure to leave to 2 outer ones free
3. Put it back in the phone
4. Put the phone on charge for 30 minutes
This should give it enough charge to boot up so remove the strip and turn the phone back on. Assuming it boots up, put it on charge until fully charged

Yep, I think also about this but.
"Charged" about 3hrs. Orange led was still blinking also.
So I remove the battery and try to boot in recovery.
It's incredible, phone enters into CWM!
I did the battery wipe, and restart the phone.
And it works! Phone boot up, and battery still charging from about hour now!
Are not the two centre contacts on the battery for the temperature sensor?
Covering these up on a faulty battery could be dangerous.
John.
It's just to get charge to be able to boot the unit, once you can boot it you remove the strip and the battery goes back to normal function. Trust me, I had to do it and it works!
Yes, I would do it myself to get my phone working, but it`s best to warn people to be careful.

Hello again,
The problem returns.
Sometimes I allow the battery to be discharged and the phone turned off.
What do you think? Problem is with any power management in the phone or battery?
I don't have second battery to test it now

This has just happened to me - battery drained overnight. I had plugged it in to charge before I went to bed but I must have knocked it free. Result is a completely dead phone that will not power on even if plugged in. Flashing orange light as described. Soooo....I cut a strip of plastic, covered the middle pins and put on charge. However I have a question....should there be any charge light with this middle pins covered up set-up
Thanks
When your phone runs out of charge it needs a sufficient amount of charge to even turn on
I get the blinking led all the time after my phone shuts down due to low battery.
Just let it blink and after 15 min or so it should become solid.

Please HELP ME :( "S3 will not power on due to no battery life"

Hello,
Two days ago, i was on a plane and my htc ons s S3 turn off due to battery go to less than 5% and loses all power, when i came to home i try to charge it but the LED still off and when i pressing the Power key does not turn on the device, i have left more than 5h and the issue still here.
if i remove the battery and than try to charge it with an externel adaptater sector, it will be charged or not ?
Please any idea ?
You might have to leave it alone on charge for at least 15-30 minutes until the LED shows up. Then you should be able to power it on.

Not working
Have you tried holding the power button down for 10+ seconds?
The only other thing I can think of is something has frozen, maybe you can leave it off charge for a day or two until the battery is really completely flat, then charge it for a few hours without turning it on, then see what happens?
Thanks for all,
It's work now
but believe me I heated my phone around 7min because I'm in a very cold city now and when i touch the phone i find it very cold so i decided to put it near from a fireplace and it's work juste after.

HTC Sensation Power Button (On/OFF) doesn't work.

Hi everyone. Today i was chargin my phone at PC using a no-name usb cable. I've noticed while it was charging that the screen kept turning itself on and off. When i finaly took the phone, the screen was unlocked and when I tried to press the home button it did nothing but taking screenshots (like the power button was stuck). The power button was not wroking either.. After I took out the battery and restarted the phone, the power button didn't work at all. Tried to clean it off using this method but it did not work. Tried to clean the power off button using a method i've seen on google (can't post the link since i'm a new user) but its still not working
I'm desperate, please help
Are you sure, that the problem is only the power button? I have sometimes problems with this phone too. Sometimes you can't turn it on.
Try taking the battery out for at least one hour - then try to start it. I had always success with this.

The batter has proven me to be fcked in the last week, had lots lots lots of random turn-offs and restarts. But for more than 5 hours the power off button didn't work.
I'll let my batter out through the night.
Thanks for reply.
PS: I'm running ARHD 7.3.

The restarts can also result from a loose battery. Try putting a folded piece of paper between the battery and the upper casing of the phone, so the battery is pushed against the pins. This is a well-known issue. It helped me a lot. Before I had also lots of reboots.
Yep, did that in the last 1,5 year and the random reboots stopped. But as i've said, now it happens even tho' i have a paper that keeps the battery steady.
Lol just took the phone to see if the power button works and currently i'm talking screenshos pressing the home button .

Well, this isn't normal. Is your power button constantly pressed?
Try the following: Hold the volume down-button while inserting your battery until the phone boots up.
Does it boot into the boot manager?
Just woke up, plugged my battery in and the power button worked almost normally. Could've pressed it 5 minutes and after that and a restart it didn't work anymore.
This means I should buy a new battery and everything is fixed? Are the Anker batteries worth it ? Or do you recommend me a HTC EVO 3D battery ?

You can use the battery from the Sensation XE, which has 1.700mAh instead of 1.520 (or 1.560). At the HTC-Store they are about 50 € here in germany.
Always buy original batteries! Not the cheap ones from eBay. They usually don't have a temperature sensor, so the phone can't shut down, when it gets too hot while charging. This can be very dangerous.
I haven't got any experience with Anker-Batteries - sorry.
Pressed the volume down button and it got me into the boot menu (just like the power button is kept pressed).
Do you think that if I change my batter it will fix my problems ? Also noticed that my battery is altered, aka its not flat but swollen.

If it is swollen, it is definitively broken. Mine had the same symptoms...
I'm pretty sure, the powerbutton-problem isn't related. Does the button feel normal, if you push it? Or is there no "click"?
Maybe you can repair it with a needle by lifting the foil a tiny bit.
i dont think you need a new battery, same problem occurred with my phone, done some DIY fix and written that in a post for fellows like you in search of help.

Phone crashed and won't turn back on

I have a stock phone HTC One (M8) that has never been rooted. Today I pulled my phone out of my pocket and it wouldn't turn on. I've tried:
pressing the power button along with the volume up
Pressing power and volume down
Pressing power and volume up and down
I took it to the Verizon store and they said they would have to ship a refurb out to me. I wanted to check this forum to see if anyone has ideas before I get a refurb.
Thanks in advance!
Simular situation - will not power up or hold charge
Im S-off and unlocked .... I downloaded the new RUU 4.4.4 and everything was fine. the next day the battery drained completely and I plugged the charging cord in. I got the battery icon in the center of the screen and 0% life. The orange light is blinking, but the battery level doesn't change. I cannot get it to power up or get into the bootloader. Once I unplug the power cable the unit doesn't power on. if the keep the unit plugged In for a power source I'm still unable to boot. I'm totally out off ideas ... can I get someone to respond to help me out in this desperate time.

Can you try a different charger and cable? The blinking orange light is what they do when they are completely dead. Starts out blinking and wont go solid until enough charge is present to actually boot the phone.
I just upgraded to 4.4.4 as well maybe 3-4 days ago. I had been able to charge the phone a couple of times without issue right up until it wouldn't turn on yesterday.
I left the phone off the charger overnight and tried rebooting again this morning, and nothing.

Try this:
Battery is fully charged, but the device does not turn on
Plug device into the provided HTC wall charger that came with the device.
Press and hold the Power, Volume up and Volume down keys for 1 - 2 full minutes. The battery should re-calibrate and the device will then turn on.
or
Battery shows less than 0% charge level
Plug device into the provided HTC wall charger that came with the device.
Charge the device until the LED indicator glows solid red.
Attempt to power the device on as usual. If it will not power on, press and hold the Power and Volume up keys for 10 seconds while still on the charger.
I tried this just now, nothing.
When I hook up the charger, I don't get any lights to indicate that the phone is charging.
It's like the phone is bricked, but I haven't messed with any ROMs at all. I'm completely stock and locked.

I am unlocked but am having the same problem. I've had the phone since almost launch day and it's been fine until now.....all of a sudden it won't charge. I've tried many different cables and chargers that I know work, but nothing gives.
Were you able to figure anything out? Really don't want to have to get a refurb as I don't think I'll be able to get it rooted/unlocked anymore.
edit: After letting it "charge" for about an hour I was able to turn the phone back on. It said the battery was at 30% but was draining like 2% every 15-20 seconds. Looking at the settings it said the battery state was unkown (where it usually says not charging or charging). Something is definitely doing on here, but I have no idea what. I tried rebooting to recovery from the ROM but it just shut off. Now it's doing the same thing again (0%, won't turn on). Ugh!

Moto G totally dead

Well, title says it all. My girlfriend's Moto G just went totally dead one day. I took it apart and measured that the battery voltage was very low. I also tried to charge the phone but all that it did is blinking white LED if Power button is pressed.
So, i went to eBay and purchased a new battery which arrived today. Popped it into Moto G aaand.. still no life. Even the white LED did flash no more Tried almost every single trick that I have found, still no luck, however few hours of charging with my G3 charger bring the white LED back to life. Now if I press Power button for a few seconds, white LED flashes quickly 2 times and then it goes away and nothing on screen. If I just let it charge without touching anything, I can see white LED flashing sometimes. Gonna leave it charging overnight and see if that brings it back to life. Any tricks what else I can do with this phone or should I just toss it away?

Can you enter fastboot mode, if you can that might indicate a sign of life.
Can't enter fastboot either Tried to press Vol - and Power, white LED flashed only one time but still no luck :/ Maybe the mobo is bad?
What you have done to it
Just standard use, but one night it just died. It did not wake with overnight charging. It is now sitting on my desk without charger, gonna try it in the evening when i go home. If it does not wake, i think it really is dead
Try looking up the led codes from Motorola's site or something. That might help if there are any. Seems to me that you have some hardware damage. But I might be wrong.
Try keeping it on charger for a few hours, then with charger connected, press power and keep it pressed for like 2 straight minutes. That should at least wake the device. If it doesn't work, I'm afraid it is busted :/

Tried that too, even pressed Power button over 2 minutes but all it does is white LED flashing randomly. Without charger it does absolutely nothing. I think the motherboard is busted
Seems like hardware damage to me too, use it for parts or sell it I guess.
why don't you take it to service center
it will be your best bet if engineer have a look whats the issue. just a get a approx cost. they will let you know. :good:
