Cupcake ?

Don't shoot if it's been answered, but when will the release be available for the regular users? My G is rooted and I am currently on the Haykuro's legacy 5.0.2Hr5-A2SD build, just wondering if I could go to one of the 1.5 releases or do I have to wait?

Lol, hey man it was worth a try I've been M.I.A. from the boards for awhile and I know the ADP build is strictly for developers phone so I thought I would ask. I searched and the only thing I found was that the ADP 1.5 build is out. Peace

Well there we go then. You have answered your own question. But if you had of read the posts properly you would have seen that the ADP1.5 Rom isn't just for the ADP phone and if you have root and want it that much it is possible!

Yeah, you can download it. Just rename it update and wipe and apply update and, just to be safe, wipe again.
The regular 1.5 (US) hasn't been released yet... but I don't suspect it will be much different.

Cupcake after restoring stock Rom

So long story short my wife is now using my g1 since I got my mytouch.. She is a tmo employee so she like to keep stuff the same as her customers.. I have reinstalled RC29 as a thread suggested & now the only problem is that its not updating to 1.5. Googled the hell out of it & everyone links back to the same file from google to update it & the file is no longer available..
Does anyone know where I can get the needed file or how to force the OTA update.

answer to your question: First you need to update to RC30 then to RC33 and then wait for the ota update 1.5 aka cupcake.

Edit: As said above, you need to go to RC30 before you can go to Cupcake. Here is RC30.

I would say you are an A$$ for not understanding how is restoring to stock from a coocked rom not a rom related question..

Thanks for your awesome response, I'm just tired of always reading similar threads like this in the development section.
I at least answer your question, and just a heads up you will NEED to go from RC29 to RC30 then to RC33 before jumping to cupcake.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I DO UNDERSTAND how it is restoring back to stock. I just did this whole process couple days ago.

is there a thread that walks through this then, because everything I can find seems to stop at the tmo rom & not continue from there..
Also the file downloaded does not apply.. Guves a no signature error when updateing.

Well if you tried to jump from RC29 to cupcake then it will give you that error, that's why I'm saying you will need to first update to RC30, then to RC33 and then to cupcake

in my experience i waited no more than a day and got the cupcake ota update. so i don't think you have to do anything but be patient. if you are not trying to be helpful don't reply.

Your version right now is...?
If you're still on RC29, update to RC30 by renaming the first update I linked to as "update.zip" and update to it.
If you're on RC30, do the same with the second link (RC33).
If you're on RC33, you don't have to wait for the Cupcake update, just use the third link I provided and it will update the G1 to Cupcake.

He will never get the ota if still on RC29 so he need to get to RC33 first so he can get the ota.

I found the MT3G 1.2 Sappimg... this can help us unroot our devices if we need to... Additionally I came across what I believe is a RUU for the fender... which I was able to grab the rom.zip file from the RUU
the RUU I believe is for the fender is RUU_Sapphire_T-Mobile_US_2.10.531.3_release_signed_NoDriver .. as you can see "2.10.531.3" the build number from the fender... and I believe this rom.zip can be used to unroot the fender...

I'm not gonna lie. I was tempted to return it because I was in hopes (call it being overly optimistic) that we could have a kick-ass rom for this.
Decent alternatives are of course the Nexus, MyTouch Slide (coming soon) and hopefully the HTC Incredible coming later. (maybe?)
This phone is going to be outdated before we can get a custom rom made for it!

Re: Possible Sappimg for MT3G 1.2- MT3G fender/1.2 We may have an way to Un Root.
It depends which phone you have. If you have the reg 1.2 then I can understand the regret. But, with the fender... Not only is there now a mile long waiting list for a phone thats out of production, but the many times a day I get "omg dude, us that the fender? U lucky bastard" makes up for it lol. Plus ive ben playing guitar 15 years now so I needed it lol. And the $20 difference for a 16gb sd was nice.
At work now, but as soon as I get home im gona tear this apart and see what's in it. You may have just stumbled across our missing drivers.

Ouuuuuu Awesome. thank you for testing. NOw.. maybe we can get some files going to make the rooting process easier. I soo hate the goldcard lol

Strange enough the release dates are jan 20 (2 days before fender release) and April 9th Oh well, glad to know we are getting somewhere now
EDIT- Ok, so we got a confirmed test of unroot, which means all necessary files are there. What I guess we actually need for drivers is the source released. BUT... NOw we have more people to work on reversing just as we had with the 3d drivers for 2.1. So now we have the real base tools, and not a rooted dev version of the "stock" build, As the real stock does not have swype. So now we will have more people to play around. Im gona start reading up on cooking tonight And see what I can get done on my day off tomorrow. I learn quick lol, So Since we have found that 32b roms are the only ones that boot, m gona go through what I can mixing and matching.
I wish I could count how many times I said SO in that paragraph lol

Both of the SAPPIMG files for both devices work you might have to start out with a engineering spl like i did in order to get into hboot to restore

I have a stock unrooted 1.2 with 1.33.0007 perfected SPL, I could check for you guys to see if it needs a certain SPL.

Somehow I doubt its a 1.2 with the 0007 SPL. Does it have a headphone jack? Its supposed to come with 0013

Actually, it's only been out since 9/24. They pushed out this update on that date...it was rumored an update was coming about a week before, but 9/3 is way too early

Also, this is the first time I have seen an actual RUU for 3.29. All other threads that reference the RUUs only have the 3.26 RUUs.

Yep - this is the first posting on the 3.29 RUU.... The stores didn't even have this as I got a replacement EVO yesterday from a Sprint Repair center and they gave it to me with 3.26 on it and I had to apply the OTA myself....

Make sure you follow the directions. You need to have it connected to HTC Sync.

Maybe not the best place for this question, but where do people get these? Do you have to have a mole with HTC or Sprint (or Sprint vendors like Best Buy)?

I'm a Sprint Rep, I have access to all of the Official ROMs before alot of people. I also know a source who has access to the Overland Park Server which has all of the test and official ROMs on it. Like Froyo for the Hero and Epic...which have yet to be finished. (And might not be released for Hero)

[Q] VZW Touch Pro 2 MR3?

Just noticed PCD has an MR3 update available dated 11/30/2010. Downloading it now. Anyone got any ideas what it fixes/conatains?

The only thing the Word document that was included only states the update provides a 'Qualcomm security update'. I'm about to run the update. I'll post an update after it's finished.

Well, that was uneventful :|. I don't recall what the version numbers for anything were, but nothing appears to be different. I was really hopeful a Windows Phone update from 6.5 to 6.5.3 or better would be included, but not happening. I guess the security update is fine and dandy, but anyone flashing this update hoping for something exciting, I didn't see it. Oh well .

Damn.... I would say the only thing that would make me flash at this point would be a bump to 6.5.3
Looks like I'll stick with MR2

It includes a new radio: 2.37!!
The packages are quite old...see screenshot.
I have to examinate the most interesting part...drivers
Let's hope for something new.

I don't post as much on XDA mainly because the forum doesn't have a good phone interface that I know of.
