-also, my g1 wont connect to any wifi signal all the sudden. this haoppened at the same time as the sd problem. i was connected, and it lost connection and now i cant connect to anything anymore. i was messing around with the sdcard trying (failure...noob) to partition/cache, but where does this mess wifi up. i guess now i have to get a new card and pray i dont have to send the phone in.

Good luck,

thank you, but it's not that
in a course of 3 hours, my sd card all the sudden won't mount. but a couple hours earlier i was putting songs from my pc to it just fine, but later when i tried to save an mms, it told me there was no sd card inserted. i was like , "WHAT?!" so i checked on the settings and it said the memory usage was unavailable. on the OI File Manager app it says there is no sd card inserted. the computer doesnt recognize anything when i plug the phone in. I bought a new card and that didnt work either, so it is definitely the phone. Is there some sort of code or something i can input to maybe force the phone to recognize or something? also, i lost the ability to connect to wifi signals anywhere (starbucks...everything). this happened at the same time a the loss of sd card usage. HELP!! i dont have a t mobile account so i cant send anything in on a warranty.

Problems (HELP): Activesync and Memory Card Brick

My phone is a brick when the memory card is inside and it only starts with it out. (This just started today and I never had the problem before).
And activesync no longer loads when WM6 does. I have a verizon xv6800.
I can't connect my phone to the computer because it will try to connect and fail. That means I cant do a thing with the memory card or help the phone.
everything's wrong only when the card is inside?

Don't worry, you're not the only one:

It seems as if it has something to do with the internals of the SD card, at least that's what I get from reading these two threads. Maybe some cards have a faster transfer rate or something like that...?
All I know is that its a major pain in the *donkey* when they die.
Next time I'm going to try one of the Japanese brands mentioned in one of those posts.
Put it in a USB adaptor and plug it into a PC. The OS may ask to check and repair the SD card for errors. Do so then put it back in your phone.

If you read those other posts, you'll realize that this goes beyond such easily remedied problems.
This goes much deeper than some "errors" that can fixed by clicking "fix"...
There is some kind of issue with the (or at least some) HD2s and some SD cards. I don't know what it is exactly, but for sure when the HD2 scrambles your card, it totally fries it, as in not recognized by any device (phone, camera, computer, etc) and is completely not formattable, scanable, recoverable, salvageable. I tried all of the above and... nothing.
yeah i have tryed to fix it via pc . that didnt work then i just tryed to format it via pc , and that didnt work .
think i will have to buy a new one . and yes it is a pain in the ass.
there are ways to get data back.. but if the card doesn't give a sign of life, I guess I can't help you eighter.
just gone into divice manager and it is saying the card is healthy but i still cant open it

SD Card Damaged. You May have to reformat it... There MUST be a solution

On my MyTouch 3g, if my phone shuts down or reboots unexpectedly, many times my SD Card will not mount. There MUST be a solution for this.
In recovery, I can see my files, so I know everything is not lost. How can I get Android to recognize it again?
I've researched hours on this. Formatting works, but I lose my info. There has to be a way to restore whatever files are getting corrupted from unexpected shutdown.
Windows often does not see it, ONLY in recover. So if, linux can see the files, it should be able to be repaired. How can I do it?
Move all of the files to your computer, format the card, then restore all the files?
Nope... too easy. I need a way to get the card o recognize again. There has to be a way....
I was told by a Sprint rep that phones are generally pickier about recognizing and reading SD cards than computers are. I had asked him to check out my SD card because my phone kept having problems mounting it, and he said it didn't matter if they checked it, it would always look fine if plugged into a computer, and ended up giving me another SD card for free.
Hope this helps.

Can't mount SD-card

It was working uhh I dunno a few days ago, this morning it wouldn't mount. I initially thought it was a MIUI problem (1.11.1) I rebooted, nothing. I wasn't even getting the usb disk toggle in my status pull down. I checked the USB settings and "ask on connect" was on. So I rebooted into RA and tried USB-MS, still not coming up on my PC. On my phone I can go into Astro and see the SD and everything on it fine, I played some music and watched some videos, so I'm assuming there's nothing wrong with it. I'm also assuming there's nothing wrong with the usb cable because it's charging my phone.
I've exhausted ideas on how to fix this, any help would be lovely.

Try plugging your SD card into PC with an adapter. You may need to reformat your SD card. SD card corruption is a known issue with MIUI

But if the card was corrupt then wouldn't the phone be able to not access it directly either? I know when I ran my last Rom (Synergy) a few times when I plugged the cable in I'd get windows popup saying errors detected and it needed to be scanned. I don't have an adapter I guess I should to go and get one.
thanks for the reply.

Here is what I would do. Use dropbox to back up any files that the phone doesn't see as corrupted then reformat the SD card. Also remember that when you unplug from the PC that you have to "safely eject" it before unplugging. This is normally the cause.

Thanks for the feedback, it magically decided to pop up on it's own, I had it plugged in and charging and when I came back from lunch there it was. I scanned it and it seems a-okay. I'll remember the safely eject thing, I know about it I just tend to forget to do it, and by tend I mean always lol

USB Storage stopped working.

I have asked this on androidforums.com as well, but i'm hoping I might get a quicker answer here.
I have a rooted LG P500 running cm7, the usb storage has always worked fine. But last night I plugged it in, the computer made the right noise, the phone picked up being connected, but when I pressed turn on USB storage, it tried for a minute, then stopped trying and went back to home screen and changed my cm7 theme (also started displaying telecom instead of the usual skinny for my network, not a big deal, skinny is owned by telecom, but still strange) a reboot puts the network back, the theme needs to be changed back manually.
I have tried this several times now with the same result each time.
The only thing I can think of thats changed recently is I partitioned my SD card, but of course I have used USB storage since then to put all the stuff back on my SD card from computer.
I have nandroid backup from before I partitioned, but don't want to use that if I don't have to, and not sure if it would help anyway.
Help?!
Try to clear your cache and dalvid cache too
Thanks, have just tried that, and then tried to connect again and its now stuck o the usb connected screen where it is trying to turn on mass storage (frozen, the circle is not going round anymore). I think I am going to have to pull the battery.
Also everytime I reboot my phone now it changes my theme.
I think maybe the partitioning didn't work properly, when I did it I went up to 136mb internal storage left, and now I am back down to 43mb again! Even though darktremor a2sd says that my apps are on sd. Is this why things aren't working properly? Please someone help!
When I unmount the SD card and plug it into a card reader in the computer it says "USB Device not recognised" and something about it malfunctioning. is this normal for a partitioned card, or is something wrong?
Interestingly when I unmounted the SD card it changed my theme and went back to telecom as my network, so obviously the problem is something to do with the SD card, but all the apps etc on the SD card work fine.
Update: Have USB storage working in recovery so situation is not so urgent now.
Still would like to sort out whatever is going on though if anyone knows, I am obviously having some kind of issue since my theme is always resetting to stock cm7 theme when I try connect USB or reboot the phone.
