Is there a way to bypass the Alignment Screen, Because my screen damaged from one corner and i can't start up my device.
if the screen is not aligned then it will not respond to any type of touch
input
Don't have time to search right now, but someone asked that before and got an answer on how to bypass it so you can use it using the hardware buttons/PC emulator. search well and you will find your answer.

After a soft reset my screen alignment is gone and it takes some time and work to get to screen in the settings window (because the alignment is lost)to solve the prolem Has anyone have the same problem and hopefully a solution?
What device are you using?
I've never encountered this problem, but you can navigate with the dpad, or alternatively make a shortcut to the screen control panel and launch that on every reset (put it in your startup folder).
Bad solution to a strange problem though!

screen alignment
Thx, the shortcut is not a solution since I cannot click where I want. Dpad is the solution that I use, but it is very ennoying.I am using a QTEK2020
I meant make a direct shortcut to the particular control panel screen. Then one click with dpad will take you straight into screen alignment settings.
But whichever works!

screen
THX, but I don't find a way to make a shortcut to screen or screen alignment in the settings screen.
I'm afriad I don't have my phone in front of me, I left it at home by accident , but look here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnppcgen/html/ppc_tcuts2.asp
I'll try to make the shortcut if you have no luck.

My original post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=336360 was getting no action so I am hoping i can get a response here.
Does anyone know how to fix my 8525 touch screen?
I replaced the broken one with a new one but now it seems all clicks are registering on the top left of the screen (or bottom left in landscape.)
I have read the items in the Wiki but they didn't seem to help and I don't know if they are relevant to a replacement digitizer or not.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
Can somebody help me please, I tried installing a cab of the HTC Action Screen app from the touch dual on my Herald, after installing I noticed that the top right corner of my screen was not responding to my stylus taps. tried realigning the screen still no joy.
So I uninstalled the app but I still have the screen alignment issue, is there anyway to fix this without a hard reset?
sorry if this is posted in the wrong section as I didnt know if this was just a herald problem or if everybody had this problem?

It could be an old issue with a new device. Back in the day of PPC's it was found that some screen protectors slid under the case of the touch screen causing the screen to not respond appropriately. If you have recently put on a new screen protector or removed one, check the area just beyond the location where it is not responding. You might find something holding the screen down permenantly causing it to not respond. If there is nothing there and none of the things are present, I too am at a loss.
Just an idea.
Did you try a soft reset to remove the remnants of the application you removed?
@Just about right
Dont think it is the screen protector as I have had the same one on since I bought the device (almost a year now) without any problems.
@wovens
yep tried that
Ineterestingly if I open notes and tap the screen I get a dot in the right place, if I tap the top right corner it draws a vertical line downwards from the top right to the bottom. In the meantime what I have done is run the screen alignment, placed the styles in the middle of all '+' except the one in the top right corner. For the one in the top right corner I aimed a little lower than the centre, this allows me to click the X in the top right with the stylus if I aim above the box. not ideal but it will do for now as I dont have the time to reset this week...
Does anyone here know of a method that I can align a touch screen on a pocketpc/phone (XV-6700; did not post this on the Apache forum because I am just wondering about how to do this on WM6 regardless of the phone function) using the registry? I have to use the registry, if anything, or anything else because the traditional pointing and touching with the stylus does not work due to a 20% working screen. Only the middle portion of the screen registers clicks truely. The other 80% of the screen you click here and the touch registers as a touch over there, centimeters away, making it useless.
Thanks in advance... I really would love to get this spare xv-6700/ppc-6700 phone working how it used to but I am sure it's a hardware + OS issue and the phone function has nothing to do with it.

Why not use the screen calibration under settings? If it still doesn't work, you may need a replacement.
The touch screen on my phone does not work anymore. This is an HTC Vogue (XV6900 - Verizon version), and it will not accept anymore touch input. All the buttons work fine and the screen still displays everything perfectly, I just cannot touch to advance. I flashed to a new ROM thinking maybe it just lost its brains, and needed a reset, but now I cannot get past the screen you have to touch to begin, where it says "Touch the Android to Begin".
Is there any way to bypass this? I tried putting a Windows Mobile ROM back on, but it has the same kind of initial setup...you cannot do anything until you touch the screen. Is there a way to get around the Android touch to begin screen? (or Windows if you happen to know...I just need my phone back!)
Thanks
*bump* anyone?

As states, the TOUCH SCREEN is broken, so I do not need instructions on where to touch the screen - please reread the original post.
