Stupid Slide Screen Screws with SMSING - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Whats up guys
Just got this phone this week and there's been something really annoying me. When I go to reply to a text or compose a new one, if I slide the screen right after clicking that button that stupid button screen comes up screws up the text. Do you really have to wait until the messages are on the screen to rotate? Or is there a way around it?
Thanks
Joe

I find that with my pro and my other wm devices that I need to be kind of methodical and go thru the process to get where I want to be. If I try to speed things up I frequently end up with freeze ups amd slow downs anyway. Sometimes another rom can help with these types of issues. My .02

Help: Touch Pro answers calls in pocket!

Hi!
I have a major problem with Pro. Had it for week and already I have missed many calls. Well, technically I've answered them :-(
The problem is that when a call comes in, the touch screen activates and if the phone is in pocket, it will very likely answer the call. It has done this many times and it does it so fast that the vibrating alarm doesn't even vibrate once. So I have no idea that somebody is listening to me in my pocket!
No, the button lock, doesn't seem to help here. Try it. Even with button lock on, you can answer the incoming calls with touch screen.
So what to do? I am really lost with this. Do I need to power off the phone completely when I'm on the road and only power it on when it's on the table? Yes, that works... and yes, it would be ridiculous.
One solution could be that when an incoming call is coming, one would need to enable the touch screen by pressing one of the hardware keys. And the call could be answered with the hardware keys also. After all, they do not press down easily in the pocket. But there is no way to set the phone this way AFAIK.
So, please guys help! (Google didn't help although Diamond users must have the same problem.)
I have the same problem!!! Didn't figured out a way to solve it by my own. It's realy annoying, especially if you do not want to answer at all to the person that is calling.
please, did anyone find a solution to this issue?
someone tried this and seem to work.

Think a little app is required that blocks off touch screen as incoming call arrives.
Same problem on the Diamond :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414731
I have tested the technique exposed by Carloshdez with CSDEVCTRL 3.28 and it works on the TP:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2590105&postcount=188
I Followed his configuration, but entered "0" at the top for "Lock if Idle for Sec"
When the phone rings, CSDEVCTRL deactivate the screen but keep the hard keys activated.
Very complicated solutions it seems... I do not like to replace the dialler for instance. Hmmm.
Any solution where it would be possible to "open" the touch screen before doing anything to the call. I mean, it needs to behave so that
- the screen activates and you can see who is calling
- the touch screen is inactivate so that you do not accidentally answer it
- you can "open" the touch screen to
* answer
* hang-up
* mute
* i.e. all things that are now possible
This is because the hardware buttons do not give you all options, like mute and send text.
Hate to say, but iPhone style (or should I rather say Androind style) "slide to unlock" might be it as it's not that probably thing to happen in pocket. Are there such programs? And what do they do otherwise (that I probably do not want )?
With the solution I exposed, the screen is turned on but locked when a call comes in.
When you hangup with the hard key, everything (including mute, etc) is unlocked so you can use your TP as you were before.
Or you can use S2U2. With it, you have a "Slide to unlock" and "Slide to answer" Iphone's style button.
What happens if the other party was the one to end the call (you did not end the call by pressing the end key), will it still unlock the screen or what?

You didn't get the mute part... I frequently want to mute the ringing WITHOUT answering or hanging up the call. Excellent feature BTW! Usually just to walk away from the current situation to quiet place to answer the call. Yes, I know I can do that with turning the phone upside down also, but there is also the text message option that I'm learning to use also.
I guess I need to try S2U2 then.

try this over S2U2!
Hm... turning my phone around before I can answer a call seems to me a little silly.
A simpel application would be more usefull.

If the other party ends the call, the phone unlock. Actually it is only lock during "ringing"

I agree! Seems like an excellent idea, but the turning part seems complicated (risc dropping the phone, use 2 hands...?). I rather have something that can be done just by thumb of one hand.
(No, haven't had the possibility to try either one yet.)
The whole sensor thing is turning into a carnival, hopefully some real useful apps will be made using it.

I would apreciate a application that locks the phones touch screen while it rings and unlocks it after you answer (so that you can use it during the call).
Can't make this application, i'm not that smart, but maybe someone els can?
LE: I think this thread should be made "Sticky" until we find a solution, because we have here a real issue!!!
I am going to attempt to DEV an app like that, but I am sure one of the Senior's could dev this much quicker
I know it sounds like a silly solution and I agree that this is a serious design bug but a simple way to avoid this problem is to keep the phone in its pouch....

And that is how I've also answered and ended a call before I've slid the phone out of the pouch since the pouch is quite tight and activates the screen...
Need some other option on screen, like S2U, to 'unlock' the normal phone app' touch options first.

It IS in his Pouch, and both in my pocket, but it answers itself the calls!!!!
The app should use the side bottons to MUTE the call.

Text message problem using Keyboard, kicks me out of Texting!

1. Scroll using touchflo to Messaging
2. select a message and choose MENU > REPLY from touch 3d screen.
3. Slide out keyboard and start typing
4. PROBLEM: it kicks me out of the text message and opens up into 'telus quick find' and continues typing what I started to type. (It boots me out of the text messaging application).
Anyone know why this is?
It shows my blinking cursor in the text messaging field.... just before it boots me out of the texting application.
Mine does this sometimes too, haven't found a cause and/or solution.
Another problem is that if I close the keyboard as soon as I press the send button, sometimes TF3D crashes.
I don't worry too much though, they only happen occasionally.

I have a similiar problem and I need to click the blinking cursor in the text field to "lock" it there. It went away after a hard-reset. Still do not understand why...
i think i can help
i had a similar problem today, my problem was it switched to landscape, in 1 second opens my dialpad then i have to close that and continue typing.
what solved my problem was installing a file called "RemoveSkcerts.cab" or something similar, sorry but i dont have it with me on my touch pro, hope this helps u out
When you hit reply, do you wait fully until the whole messaging screen pops up or do you do press reply, and immediately open up keyboard?
I used to have this problem until I realized that you should let the whole messaging screen come up.
keyboard closes
when I reply to e-mail or even SMS, when I hit the space bar (both in physical keyboard & SIP), the application CLOSES ! ! this just started happening.

Exact issue i have
Yep, mine's been doing the same for a couple of days now... Stock T-Mobile ROM UK... Only had it a month, so haven't researched enough to change anything much.
I hit reply for the text, slide out the keyboard. I start typing and about 3 words into the reply it closes the SMS window and goes back to the main screen. It's fairly annoying as bugs go.
I hope this helps you work it out.

Hi!
Post number 5 is correct.
When you hit reply, do you wait fully until the whole messaging screen pops up or do you do press reply, and immediately open up keyboard and start typing? This the cause.
I used to have this problem until I realized that you should let the whole messaging screen come up.
So let the messaging screen come up completely.
Hope this help.

tried this....i still have the same issue......tp inadvertently kicks out to either home screen, or in most cases the phone dialpad screen !!!!
i tried soft reset and then reply, then things are fine......mebbe this happns because the dialpad application does not really close properly???? although i don't really see it running in the background or anythin......the dialpad cannot run in the background......but this dos'nt explain why occasionally it kicks out to the home screen???

Texting Problem......

When ever I am starting to text my Fuze will go to the same screen as if you slid open the keyboard(email, message, favorites, web search, appointment, tasks, note, and contact) description of the screen. And sometimes it will also got to contacts or it will go to my keypad to my phone.....I am getting a little frustrated does anyone have any answers????? Help me!!!
You're in the wrong forum here guy; the Fuze is the Touch Pro, not the Touch Diamond.
thread moved
hope this helps
I have the same issue.. It seems like when ever I get a txt and push reply and the slide the keyboard out once I start typing it goes to the phone dial pad menu
This has happened to me a few times. It only happens when I slide the keyboard open before the text message reply screen is fully loaded. If I let the screen completely load and then slide the keyboard and start typing I have no problems. So just give it a couple of seconds before sliding the phone open. Hope this helps!
I'm pretty sure I GOT IT!!!!!

Honda I have a question for ya??? Do you have any form of voice command on your phone?????
I've got voice command disabled and I have this issue all the time. I basically have to start any text in portrait mode, wait a few seconds... and then slide open the keyboard and proceed as normal.
It sucks because if I'm looking at a text in TF3D and hit 'menu' and 'reply' then flip the keyboard open, I'll even have time to type a few letters before I'm looking at the stupid a$$ landscape TF3D screen. Then I have to hit 'Messages' and tap on the message to type my reply in the threaded view.
Would love to use a major function of my phone without having to hesitate!

That's the way I've been doing it on my Sprint TPro. It's become second nature now so I don't even have to think about it any more.

Lock Screen during calls

Greetings all.
Does anyone know of a good way of locking the screen while making a phone call? I've tried proximity sensor, which does not work on my phone. I currently have my time out setting at 15 seconds, but that does not work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm sick of face dialing/hanging up.
Proximity sensor does not work at all for me, either. I have been begging and begging people on the forum to help come up with a way to remove or disable the huge "End call" button, as I am constantly hanging up on people with my face.
It is the number one suckiest thing about my Hero right now.
oh, i am looking for this kind of software but found nothing
Probably one of the best "answer/hang up" functions I saw was with SIPdroid. Slide up to answer, slide down to hang up. Of course, the data service is not good enough to always use that though.....
I put the notification bar down down, but it seems almost buggy, sometimes the notification bar stays down and sometimes it just moves up by itself again.
Hit the home button to get out of the dialer window...

And, then, enjoy the vibrations as you move your homescreen icons around with your face.
Why is there so much resistance to figuring out how to either lock the screen during a call or just disable or remove the stupid soft "End call" button?
Is it significantly more difficult than changing the button color or creating a ROM?

Home button is cool if you happen to only touch the end call button and never anything else. I personally called a friend and sent 4 blank texts to someone, don't ask me how....
Home button will cause as many problems. Notification bar coming down is the best way I've found....
an even better way. hold the menu button down.
the keyboard is a great shield.

Well, google is my friend, i don't know why I doubted ye...
Screen Suite does it for me. The app is $1.99, but it has a setting where it automatically locks the screen on calls.
A bluetooth headset negates that problem completely......

How do you like it? I found it and it seemed kind of bloated with a lot of features I don't need. Does it eat up memory/power?
I am interested....
I don't get why you guys are having so many issues with this, my phone screen locks at the default of 30s when in calls, it has done this as long as I have had the phone.

Mine usually does. Unless it thinks I'm pressing things with my face, which keeps it awake.
That is... if my face doesn't end the call by the time the 30 seconds is up. My guess? It's probably the shape of our faces?
I just try to hold the bottom part of the screen away from my face. Once the screen turns off I've never hung up on someone.

Hmm another good one! Any keyboard presses do anything nasty? I'm on swype but I wonder if hitting the mic button on the hacked keyboard would do anything annoying.
Thanks for the tip!
My main problem is when my wife calls, and wants to talk to my son. His face is a lot smaller, and well, everything get screwed up when he uses the phone. As for the program, it does have a lot of features, but all I did was have it set to auto-lock on phone calls. I still have my default vanilla lock screen.
Lack of a both a proximity sensor and dedicated screen-off button is this phone's single unforgivable flaw.
I will never again buy a touchscreen device without at least one of these.

[Q] Quick question about lock screen gestures

Hi guys,
This might be a silly one, but from everything I read the swipe to left with the screen off is supposed to take you to your home screen. For some reason, this is not happening, as it always takes me to the farthest left screen next to the blinkfeed panel. Is this working as intended, or am I missing something?
Thanks,

That's the way it's supposed to be.The screen next to blink feed is the main home screen so it reverts to that one. Mine does the same.
