I'm not gonna answer general questions here. This is the only post I'll update about the details of the latest build.

What's the differences with Cupcake? I remember reading back in February, that this would be the next development branch, but nothing specific in terms of roadmaps, TODOs, etc.

Just one question ... have you used the latest haykuro/daproy-kernel (from Haykuro 5.0.1Gr3)? Otherwise tethering won't work because of missing netfilter/iptables support.

I'll give this one a try as well. Been using Donut by Laszlo the last two days and I like the looks except for a few icons(don't like square boxes on my icons) and the speed is real good.
the not so great looking part is perfect, The ROMs posted here should focus on the internal technical aspects, like speed n stability. you wanna worry bout looks goto theme section. Themes are something personal

Guy, you are crazy. I'm grateful, but it shoulden't be on XDA, between great developer ROM's. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's mine opinion. BonsaI it's mine modification/distribution of some great ROM.
If you install it, you wont disappointed, like author said.

Well, I always keep saying about ROMs that the AOSP outpasses al the rest of the ROMs in this forum, Now that I have used this ROM for a coupl of hours - I kind of having a feeling to keep it running on my G1.
1. According to speed my experience on G1:
CSDI/BLUE MAGIC> BONSAI> AOSP> SupD/Fasttest> Laszlo> and rests
2. The Look is not bad, stability and speed sustainibility wil be reported as sson as I have used this for another couple of days
3. Built in apps choice is really great! - it has ROOT explorer, BT FTP, Quick boot, SetCPU, SU, Taptalker, Sound Recorder by default
4. Built in HTC IME
5. I am liking it

hey bro excellent review. this is how people should review stuff. comparing them to the other roms theyve used, and also providing feedback was to what this rom is good at and bad at (aka a pro's con's list). some people were saying they had reboot issues? i'm guessing yours is running perfect. lazlo's rom was ok but he doesn't respond on feedback and i disliked it because i couldnt install the latin_ime.apk without a force close.
@sino8r- is their latin_ime.apk running in this rom or will it fc as well? if this rom runs well, i am going to theme it to CYANOCH (if you guys remember that is what i put together using CYANOID and ENOCH themes for two roms that had no good themes at that time. currently i am running Pay's rom with advanced launcher because i didnt like home++;i themed it as well to CYANOCH and made it JIT enabled- so far its very smooth.
DamageControl v2.09.01 - Final Hero ROM
About the ROM:
This ROM will never be a ROM that is focused on customizations, but more on speed and reliability. I figure that anybody can add whatever mods or themes they want to the ROM and release what they want. I am more focused on providing something solid.
There are a few customized applications that come with this ROM, including DCUpdater (based on CM-updater), from which you can check for the latest updates to the ROM and download them OTA. Take note that these apps can be removed, however they were put in the /system/app directory, so you will likely have to remount as r/w before you remove them. In 2.08, you will also find another application named DConfig. This app allows you to customize the ROM while running it! This will be continually updated, and we hope to get your feedback and ideas about it.
DCUpdater will allow me to release smaller releases in the future that will improve performance and stability, so you can always be sure that your phone is up-to-date with the latest that there is! It comes with dozens of features, all of which I cannot document here.
It should also be noted that I will experimentally start supporting other ROMs based upon mine, by providing them with support and many of the same applications that are in my ROM to them, customized to their ROM. A separate thread will be created about this. However, if you are interested, please contact me via PM. Those with themes that work with my ROM can also PM me as these will also be distributed through this app. ROM developers who base their ROMs off of mine will also get free space on my servers as well as a few more added benefits, such as special access to early releases and other added benefits (a big one is coming in the next few weeks!). Again, this is experimental, but if you are interested, please contact me. You will notice ROMs starting to appear in a week or so with these options.
This ROM also includes a program that will allow you to send bugs straight to me. This will allow me to find problems and fix them as quickly as possible, as well as a way for you to get personal support from me. This app is simply named 'Send Bug Report'.
If you are upgrading from a previous version of DamageControl from 2.0+, you should be able to flash without a wipe. However, I always recommend one for optimal settings.
I know there will be a lot of questions from many of you theme devs about how to get your themes up on my server so that others can easily download them (easy distribution channel), and to do that all you need to do is PM me. I will be offering a service soon that will allow each of you to see analytics of how many people are downloading and using your themes, so I would take advantage of this now.
Keep in mind that DCUpdater will not work and will crash if you are in Disk mode. You need to be disconnected from the computer to update.
To run dcpowertop from the command line, just type in dcpowertop.

This ROM is based off of a NEW Sprint leak - never before seen before! This leak fixes MANY issues, including the trackball light, SMS and MMS light, sync issues, black background on HTC Contacts, PRL Update, Time Without Signal fix and battery life fix, and more!
About the ROM:
This ROM already has apps2sd and memkill settings, so it runs very fast and very smooth! I already trimmed it down a bit, just by removing Footprints, Quickoffice and Teeter. It has already been tested quite a bit by a few different people, and you shouldn't have any booting problems or anything like that if you remember to flash before you wipe. There could be other issues, but we couldn't find any.
Current Bugs:
Internet Sharing doesn't seem to work on older PRIs (use wifi tether!)
Market doesn't show some protected apps for some reason (seems to show most)

Why should I upgrade from __________ to this?
This is the closest to 2.1 as is possible at this point, and it's also optimized! It is a very clean build and it fixes a lot of issues. You will enjoy it!
What about protected apps?
Some seem to show and others don't. I am looking into it but it seems like most are there.
How is the battery life?
In initial tests, the battery life seemed to work very well.

I wouldn't even really call this a port, maybe a bastardization is appropriate ... but, with a little help from the kitchen, I was able to put together a workable version of CR's MyTouch Slide BETA rom.
This port does have working Browser and Gmail which was missing from Binary's version.
- Give it some time (10-15mins) to load
Full wipe ... then flash this port ... that's it
I'm not held liable if you don't know what you're doing and muck up your phone

hmm weird, I did that and it didnt work. maybe I didn't wait long enough? or I just had to flash again. Thanks. And sorry for the stupid question. A lot of people post things that you need to flash something else first and never make it clear of what it is that needs to be flashed.

If you're already partitioned then yes, do a SD wipe
It's like a 76' Ford Fairmont ... You have to give it a while to load.
Run logcat while loading and you'll see that everything is working just fine

I really enjoyed what T-Mobile put together here, but the rom was not good on battery and my phone was running way too hot . Going to patiently wait for some updates then flash back. Can't wait!!

I've been running it a couple days now and haven't really noticed any major battery drains.
It also comes stocked with SetCPU, you can set your profiles and throttle down the processor once your battery surpasses a certain temperature.
Sweet looking build, but It keeps freezing on me while syncing. I also got the reboot issue when selecting theme.

I've noticed the frequent freezes especially after installing apps and the reboot issue reoccurring is also prevalent in the original build. CR should address it in the next update.
What I did was went ahead and partitioned with ext4 & swap and it seems to run a lot more smoother than before.
Yea I wiped and flashed again. This time I selected the advertised theme and just went slower than before. No random reboots and everything is now working fine. It is a little too slow for me right now but I love how it looks. I also like to remove contact photos in my address book view and cannot in this build.
On a side note, does anyone have issues with Nandroid restores? I can perform a backup and restore but when I boot up after a restore it never gets past the splash screen... kind of annoying and defeats the purpose of the backup.

About Oxygen
(I'm tempted to put a sarcastic answer here lol?) Oxygen ROM is an AOSP source built ROM (ie. not a mod of any sense based ROM), it's minimal, it's superfast and mostly bugfree.
As Oxygen is not a mod/port of any HTC/CyanogenMod or any other ROM and may not be to everyones liking, it's minimalistic and basic but I'm open to ideas and suggestions for improving the ROM.

Oxygen v2.0-RC7 (Gingerbread RC)
RC7 (RC6 was supposed to be) is the final RC I will be doing until Google release the Gingerbread OTA for the NexusOne, however you can download my latest test build from here, this includes all the latest fixes and features that I have added/changed/updated since RC6. The test zip is constantly being updated on a daily basis and the link will remain the same, so if you like updating be sure to refresh it. You can use the following apk here to install the test build more easily.
Reasons for waiting for the OTA? Well I would rather not hack up the framework just to get video recording working, if we pull the libraries properly and the way it is supposed to be done then no hacks are needed to support video recording, I know this won't be to everybodies liking and I appologise for that but I want to try and keep Oxygen as clean as possible. The OTA proprietary files would also fix a couple of other issues.

SDREAD/SDWRITE - These are 500mb tests done with "SD Card Tester". A sequential file is written to the microsd card and then read back.
GAMELEVEL and TOTAL SCORE are scores reported by An3dBench. These are a good way to estimate actual game performance. The Game level simulates an actual level in an opengl 3d game. Total score is a composite score of all the different parts of the An3dBench program.
ABSOLUTE is reported by GPUBench, another great way to tell how games are going to perform.
SpeedPI, Linpack, Quadrant, all come from self named programs.
Freememory is the available amount of ram after killing all low security programs with ATK. This was taken pre testing, mid testing, and after testing, and of course averaged.
I have tested flashing over 3.0 and ran into no problems. I would at least recommend updating to 3.0.1 first if you have not yet. If all else fails, wipe and flash fresh.
VP Settings needs a minor update that will be coming soon. Ignore density warnings. Clockwork Mod 3.x now supported! Not all mods in VPS will flash on it yet though.

Sweet! My favorite sense based rom strikes again! Been using VaelPak for all my FullHDMI testing and benches. Seeing that you've probably have been through the code from one end to the other, did you happen to come across the dock trigger? I'm looking to enable USB host on the Evo but can't find the trigger to rewrite it.
Is there any themes for this rom? I love how it runs but im not crazy about its themeing at all : /
