Hi everybody:
Im the kind of user that search with striving forces all the forum before ask something or make a request. But since Wednesday I've been looking for something to fix my HTC Fuze and really I couldnt found it. (could be & most probably is a Noob Q, but with all ur knowledge I always gonna be a rookie)
Fisrt, excuse my english. Hope you guys understand my words and help me solve this problem.
Ok, here's the gap.
I installed a few softwares from this page (awesomes by the way), and work perfect. But I don't know why I MISSED THE MP3 FILE ASSOCIATION ICON
The song in WMA format keeps its icon but the mp3 songs dont.
So, the mp3 format songs can be played on wmp or in the music tab of my fuze (the phone recognized it), but the icon that is beside the tittle is the famous "Unknown File Type Icon". Also I cant use any mp3 as ringtone.
What can I do?
Do I have to Restore the my phone again?
Exist an app that I could use to fix this?
I have the idea that a software called "Pocket Music 5.2 Free" was the responsable for this, but Im not sure. Also I removed this app from the Fuze & from the registry, but didnt notice any original icon file association yet.
Phone: HTC FUZE
ROM: 5.08.502.1 WWE
Radio: 1.12.25.19
I Just ask for help Please. Hope any of you have the answer to my puzzle.
Thanks to everyone, again excuse my english & finally have a nice day.
hey, I had the same problem.. the thing u do is, download advanced config it lets u choose file associations.. go to .mp3 and type WMPlayer.exe in the program bar.. good luck mate

Hi i have an o2 xda orbit
I installed flash player and was able to download short movie clips and open these just fine.
The next day i tried to do it, when i clicked to download a video it asked me to save...
however this time i was not given any option to open upon save and when i did complete the download and tried to open the short movie file i get an error message telling me that there is no associated programme with this file.
Can someone help me with this? please email [email protected]
HELP HELP! this may be a simple problem but i am totally baffled! This is also my first time on this site so if someone can help me place this thread in a better position let me know.
Thanks
Keith
havent messed alot with flashplayer but as far as i know it only play flash stuff
mpeg require something like
http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1080 to play
depending on which extentions it associate with you may have ot change the extention from .mpeg to .mpg thats more common
I just installed the X-plore ROM last night and I love it. The only thing that is bothering me is a certain system sound. I first heard it when booting into WM6 for the first time before the on screen tutorial, and now I hear it when I get almost any kind of error. It's a rather obnoxious noisy sound and it even irritates my cats. I don't know what the sound is called but I sure wish I did. It is a kind of stuttering noise and it definitely seems to be associated with certain events, but I'm not 100% clear on which events exactly.
It isn't listed in the Sounds part of the control panel (I tried listening to all of those) and it isn't in any sound file in the Windows folder. I tried using Search to find files that are .wav , .wma , and .mp3 but Search doesn't seem to look in all folders.
I found out how to disable specific event sounds with a registry tweak but I would rather just know where this sound is stored so I can change it if possible. I tried searching the forums here but I'm not finding anything useful.
Many thanks in advance for any help!!
p.s. I just realized I forgot to say this is the PDA Mobiz version of X-plore , so it might have been added somewhere down the line.
Hey all, got a question. I searched the boards for this but wasn't able to find an answer that worked.
I know you guys aren't using the lame sounds that came with the phone, so I gotta know--what's the trick? We've got an mp3 trimmer app that would work great, if anything other than phone calls worked with it. How do I get my mp3s to work as notification tones? Do I need to convert to .wav? If so, what's a good app to use, preferably on the phone itself?

nope MP3 is just fine but u need to "CUT" the file from were ever u have it and go to "MY DEVICE IN FILE EXPLORER" and hit "application Data" then "SOUNDS" and then hit paste!
and then goto into settings and hit "Sounds&Notifacations" then hit notifacation sounds and when it loads scroll to "incoming Text" and pic your MP3 File!
hope you understood that
they have to be small files, but they can be .mp3s i would think at least smaller than 200kb
edit the file with mp3 trimmer or you will need a wav/mp3 file editor like 'cool edit'.
put the files in this directory to have them appear in the settings - sounds -notifications - new text message:
application data\Sounds\
Works like a champ, guys.
Cheers!
theres no way to have it rotate through a few is there?
Hi all, I'm new to this forum and also new to my smart phone. I have an HTC Elf 0300. I'm trying to assign a sound to Notification/ MMS downloaded. I've looked at the existing sounds available and tried to find the folder they're in via ActiveSync to no avail. I've converted the mp3 I want to use to .amr and put it in the My Ringtones and My Voices folders. I can access the amr file if I want to change the ringtone notification but not for the MMS downloaded. I can only assume that one can't use anything other than what came with the phone. If you know different, please advise, many thanks.

Put your tones in the main windows folder, you will see that many of the tones already available to you are in wav/wma format.
Thanx Timmy, that worked, one learns as one goes along eh, lol.
i dont know if its rigth place to ask but i have a huge problem with my PDA.
2 days ago i installed a cab named WinampQ(or something) to my 6.5.X HTC Touch.but then that cab deleted my Windows media player files in the windows file.so i cant play mp3s nor ringtones.i mean phone isnt ringing anymore.
and all i want is if anyone with same version of WM can send me the media player files.
