Even The superuser enabler package(.exe) is fixed...But If U already Have the old .exe , just get the attached script & replace it with the old one...

If Any one else left inform me i ll add..
Please add this to the wiki and PM me the url so I can add it to the roundup thread.
Only post problems with the above thread. Do not go off topic.
ryanmo5 opened this thread saying it didn't work and it messed up his home screen.
Thank you ryan for trying this out and letting us know.
i tried this and it says no such file or directory on all files. And then it says it cant find .apks for all files to install. Ok i didnt even look at my home screen all my widgets are gone except the clock. When i try to add the htc widgets im left with only 4 widgets.
Also the Install-Enable-SU.bat did not work for me. Was stating batch was inoperable.
Yeah, the UI tweak totally borked my phone. It locks up at the HTC logo. I went back to ion till tomorrow.
WEE!!!
AWESOME. This is fantastic. Thank you for your hard WORK!! much appreciated! Seems to have worked like a charm for me and i can really notice a huge speed boost especially when going back to the home screen.
I have found my HEROOO!
Oh and btw, when you do the part to optmize for Rosie, the folder that contains the apks should be renamed from Rosie to Files. That will make things work. It did for me.
I miss the Rosie UI lock screen though... its gone?
But wow incredibly speedy and even a lot more stable? Thank you sangeet.003 and all the other FANTASTIC developers on this forum who keep me and my G1 busy with fun goodies.
Here is a oddball question, couldn't someone just create a update.zip with all this done? I'm not familiar with signing pkgs and what not. So I'm not 100%.
i'm a mac user.
but i kind of smart when it comes to these things so i got it to work.
but for other mac users do you think you can just up load the files and post the
adb commands.

I think i read somewhere that it wouldn't be possible because of how big the update.zip would be which is why when flashing Hero, you need the ext2 to store the apps_2
the great thing is, if you just keep testing, reading and messing around with running everything from roms, scripts, commands and tweaks, you eventually get things to work and and you find a huge satisfaction and semi-understanding of it all and you find yourself appreciating the developers here for their work.
Wow its four in the morning and i think im on a strong sugar high because i never post.
so changing the folder from rosie to files worked for you

yeah rename "Rosie" to "Files"
well did a refresh of Hero and applied all the tweaks here (after renaming the folder as well) and all is wel. thanks a ton for this!
I was wondering if you could use app2sd after using this mod, or will this disable apps2sd?
Ok i did it and it works but there is a slight problem the messaging widget dosent show up. its completely gone. i read the batch file and its missing from the batch file. If you could re write it with the htc messaging app included then this app would be perfect. Or does anyone know how i could get the htc messagine widget back by myself

I think if you placed the "Files" folder onto c:/android (or wherever you put adb) and then:
adb push files/htcmsgwidgets.apk /data/app
that *might* work, not sure because I haven't tried it myself.

That is weird because i have super user and terminal working on mine just fine from JF previous install
a few widget's were missing..
clocks & contacts
also in the batch file, the msg widget was not reinstalled onto internal memory(probably just forgot to add that line)
so I redid his batch file to include the 2 missing widgets as well as adding the line for the msg widget and changed the folder to files
cause I know how lazy most of you are

just open the .bat file in text editor (.bat files are nothing more than text anyways) in there you can see each command that is run and do it yourself manually,...
yeah it's a ***** but I'm not about to figure out how to write a shell script for OSX on XP just to appease my old brethren, maybe pickup a copy of BBcode and insert the commands, don't know it that would even work, just a thought heh.

everything worked perfectly and 20 times faster not exact but i see a huge difference just now noticed that the messages widget was missing so bout to add that thanks to all developers working hard im sticking with hero i know people love it as much as I do so it has to keep getting better

Thanks I will Be re updating & uploading Both The exe Files...
Hey everyone...I wanted to share something I came across (I did not do ANY of the work...I simply found this in another forum and didn't see it here so I wanted to post it to XDA). For any of you who like the cool news and weather widget from N1's 2.1 build...some smart people ported it over to 1.5, and it works (I tested it out on my CDMA hero). They uploaded it as a .RAR file (as opposed to a .zip), but just download winzip's free trial version and extract using that. Here's the link!
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DYWP2DON
Just extract the apk file from RAR, put it on your hard drive and navigate to it with some kind of file explorer (Astro file manager, etc) and click on the apk file. Your phone will ask you if you want to install it. Once installed add it like any other widget (it will be under Android Widgets).
Edit: Some people on the other forum are experiencing force closes upon reboot. I rebooted to check and did not have any problems. I hope all works for you as well.
Sweet, will try it out!
Nice find! It works perfectly. Thanks
Could someone please rehost this elsewhere? I'm having problems with megaupload lately.
are you guys updating through recovery or pushing it through adk
works great
This works great tell them great job and thanks for bringing this to xda
can someone post a screenie of the reader and does it have a widget?
so far this works great for me!
+1 request for a screenshot.
I can extract a RAR file, but are you guys putting it back in a ZIP and flashing it through recovery or ADB push into what directory?
How exactly are you getting the widget onto your phones?

I'd like to know this as well.
I downloaded it, Un-Rar'd it and used HTC sync App Installer and it works beautifully. No need to re-zip it. It is in APK format.
Inside the RAR file is the .apk. Extract it, put it on your SD card and use a File Manager to install it. As far as screenshots, if you've ever used the 2.1 ROM, its the same widget.

sweet thanks for that info thats what I was hoping for. love the reader widget been waiting for it to get ported.
It looks like you just extract the apk from the rar and then install it. I'm making a BART backup first before I try to install it (I needed to backup anyway).
I'll post back with a screenshot unless someone beats me to it.
dang not the one that I was looking for I really would like to see the RSS reader from the 2.1 build ported I really like that one over any of the ones available on the market.
Screen shots:
Weather
News
Thanks for this. Works great on AOSP 1.6
Installed, tried all the configs, uninstalled. Not as cool as I was expecting it to be. The HTC weather widget is better. This one is quite bland. I'd rather install a separate news ticker app.
Just extract the apk file from RAR, put it on your hard drive and navigate to it with some kind of file explorer (Astro file manager, etc) and click on the apk file. Your phone will ask you if you want to install it. Once installed add it like any other widget (it will be under Android Widgets).
I posted screen shots to the original post.
Seems kind of laggy.
*Other Edit*Changed the zip file,(now packed with winzip) should work on every pc
*EDIT* Added 7zip packed version for those who don't can get the zip version to work (remember to download 7zip Its free!)

I've done this and they don't show up in my settings. Is there anything else I need to do? If I go to the files in file manager they all say unsupported file type when I attempt to play them. Both the ogg and mp3 files.

Keep us informed mate
Not sure what the problem is, but I've downloaded this several times and not only will they not play on my Charge, they won't even play on 2 different PC's.
Giving up!
Alright this is 3 really quick and easy questions.
I have infused 2.2.3 and i wanna know:
1) if i install a theme, or probably any mod or something like that, how would i take it off?If i wanted to change the theme im on, do i simply go into cwm and apply a different theme? Or do i have to do something to remove the other one?
2)Do i need the old zips i applied to the phone or should i just delete them?
3) and if i were to put allll my zips in there could i just install them from there or do they need to be in the main part of my internal sd card? Basically does it matter where in my internal sd card they are or not?

1) To revert your theme back to the original you would either need to flash the rom again or the theme developer SHOULD have a revert for you to flash.
2)I keep them around just because, I always keepat least two roms and two kernels and a whole bunch of mods and modems. I mean the infuse has 16gb internal storage so memory isnt really that big of a deal. But no you dont NEED them.
3)Nope I've flashed from all sorts of places on my SD card. Root of the SD is probably the easiest though because then you dont have to do all the navigating through files etc in CWM.

One of the "tricks" I usually do is this:
- make a copy of the .zip you're going to install -- rename it with 'revert' or 'undo' or something
- open the copy with 7zip, navigate to see what files are in it... (*don't touch the META-INF folder)
(themes usually contain /system/framework/framwork-res.apk and /system/app/SystemUI.apk)
- extract the same files from your current ROM
(either from the original zip, or directly from the phone -- I like to use 'Android Commander')
- replace those same files in the 'revert' zip -- and Bingo -- you now have a backup to restore if you don't like the theme

Just browse through the "update-infused-v2.2.3-full.zip" -- get familiar with the filesystem.
At the root you should see META-INF, system, and updates.
'META-INF' contains the scripting to run the update itself.
'updates' contains the modem & kernel.
'system' is what you should be looking at. Inside 'system' (amongst other stuff) are 'app' and 'framework' folders. "SystemUI.apk" is in 'app'. "framework-res.apk" is in 'framework'. 99% of the time these are the only two files changed in themes.
Now, not all developers follow the same folder structure in their CWM zips, for example they might just have a folder 'framework' where the scripting copies framework-res.apk to /system/framework, and so on...
sorry but it appears my building is on fire gotta go
edit: all is well (sorta) -- seems lightning has fried one of the A/C units on the roof!
