hi
im a noob when it comes to rooting my htc magic. ive tried three times before, failed all of them and have already bricked three phones. i got my htc magic from Rogers in Canada and they have locked the phone to Rogers themselves.
i am now in hong kong for summer, unable to use my phones and is stuck with my old sony ericsson P1i, which is a very boring phone.
my question is, if i attempt to root the phone again and succeed this time, does it mean that i have already unlocked the phone? that the phone's carrier is not restricted anymore? and also what is the safest way to root my htc magic?
thanks for all the help in advance

I succesfully unlocked and rooted the Rogers Magic after being locked out by perfect SPL performing the January 2010 911 upgrade. Did this using the 'goldcard' method and flashing the imperfect SPL 1.76.2007 ENG. Was then able to flash a generic 1.5 cupcake ROM and apply Wifi tether. All works perfectly well.
Search for The UnLockr's method to create the goldcard, then follow the SPL thread on how to flash the imperfect SPL. Good luck.
hi guys first time poster. I have a HTC One X Global edition. I was trying to root the phone and something went horribly wrong! Now I am stock in a boot loop and I can only go as far as the HTC White welcome screen. All I want to do now is flash my stock firmware and get my phone back. I have relocked to the bootloader and now am just trying to find my firmware! My CID is: VODAP021. I would really appreciate somebody's help. All i need is the firmware download to flash onto my device correct? I just cannot find the firmware anywhere ? Or is there another solution?
Hi There,
I was wondering if anybody could help me please.
I have a HTC one m7 in which by mistake wiped the os, now only reboot in bootloader. I have tried to use various RUU but i can not get anywhere allways failed.
I can not get which version the phone has, so i have used the cidnum and modelid. Here a picture of the fastboot loader see attachment.
May be you all have any ideas how to fix this problem.I have been trying for the last 3 days without getting anywhere.
Many thanks for you help.

Is your phone bootloader unlocked? If yes, just follow this LINK, follow those steps, and you'll be okay!
Have a good day.
bootloader locked
I had the bootloader unlocked b4 I tried using advance recovery to flash a stock rom but failed many times. So I decided to lock it to run a proper RUU but since I do not have a phone version number I had used cidnum and modelid numbers but that failed as well.
I dont know what to do now any more?
Hi!
I recently acquired an HTC One S (ville) with HBOOT 1.13, Radio 1.11, simlocked.
I have installed a few roms but i have two problems:
I can't achieve to upgrade to HBoot 1.16
I can't achieve to unsimlock it (i have the code, but it does not work)
I have successfully unlocked my bootloader, installed TWRP as a recovery and rooted it. But i can't go S-Off, which prevents me to do anything more.
As of today, i can't use the phone, as i need it to be simlock free. :crying:
Have you got any idea for me? I have tried a lot of different methods, and now i don't know what to do. Thank you!

How come you can't turn S-Off? What happens when you try turning S-Off? What phone model do you have? S3, or S4? If S4, have you tried this tutorial? https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693491
Im not sure about S3, but maybe the link from this post will help you: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69233720&postcount=546
To be honest, both methods look legit to me, maybe you can try them and report back!
Good luck!
Hi everyone,
I have a unlocked T-Mobile HTC Sensation.
A while back, I loaded the wrong ROM and the phone is in a reboot loop.
I'm now looking for either an original T-Mobile, or HTC Rom.
All the links I've found are broken given how old the device is.
Does anyone still have a valid copy of the ROM please?
Thanks in advance
