Hey guys,
i'm looking for an application that basically shows if the WM 5 device is paired with any BT device (e.g. if my Prophet is connected to a bt headset).
Preferably, the app should be just a small icon that changes upon succesfull pairing.
Since I have no idea what to search for on the interwebz, I would be pleased if any of you guys could enlighten me if something like that exists and where to get it.
Thanks!
M.
Hello!
I am searching for some software, that would make HTC Hermes (or any) PPC to act like Bluetooth headset/handsfree to another phone (any older, supporting Handsfree/ headset BT profile, for example old Nokia 6230). The PPC software acting as BT handsfree on PPC records all the calls or acts also as answering machine when call(s) not answered.
I think it should be possible and good software solution for HTC Hermes for example. So does anyone know such software available? I have been searching with no good result.
Bluetooth recorder from China

Anyone experienced with it?
Another?

Anyways it seems easier to buy hardware: http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=142932 .
Has anyone used any and can really recommend something good!?

Hi,
I have to use a special Bluetooth Tool for my Business. With this Tool I have to send and receive some Files, to make a malfunction detection on Electronic Devices. At my last PDAs, I paired my tool and my PDA at first, and then I create a Serial Connection. After that I have to assign a free incoming and outgoing Comm Port, to send and receive some Data files.
But now I have a Problem on my new XDA Orbit 2 (Polaris) PDA. `This is my first WM6 Device, and on this one, I cannot create an incoming Comm Port, because there is no possibility to create an incoming Comm Port. What can I do, to solve this Problem. Is it possible to add this Feature at the WM6 Bluetooth Stack?
Thank you for Helping!
Nobody with the same Problem?
Does nobody know to fix this Problem? Maybe we only need some File out of the Old WM5 OS, to create an incoming Come Port in the new WM6 OS?
Thank you...
How can any body offer any help without knowing this "special tool"

Hi,
The Problem is not the "Bluetooth Stick" called tool. The Problem is, that it is not possible to create an incoming comm Port, on the newer WM6 Devices. But this incoming Comm Port is a necessary Condition, to receive Data from a disturbed machine, through this Bluetooth Stick, onto my PDA. This Data I need for a intelligent error evaluation.
I hope, someone can help...

It would be worthwhile to know the brandname of your hardware and specifications of it. There are so many products called "Bluetooth Stick".

Hi,
The only specitfications about the Bluetooth Stick Tool I is, that it run only under "Master Mode", and not under "Slave Mode", because it` s more security for the Data. And the Master Mode would be work only with an"incomming Port". Sorr, but more Information I could not get from the Manufactor.
Thanky for helping...
Does nobody knows the Answer ?
I'd be intereseted if you ever come up with a solution. I'm trying to create an incoming com port so that I can use GPS2Blue with my car PC. No luck as of yet. I'll post if I find anything.
U cannot create incoming port on WM6 BT stack. But so far i didnt have any problems wits sending/recieving files, comunication with external BT GPS. Al u need 2 do is properly pair devices, properly configure external GPS settings & open outgoing port. Truth is i didnt test ext BT GPS with my Orbit2(o2 branded polaris), but i tryed it w/ Orbit & Universal (both WM6). I can try it today and i'll let U know

I'm not trying to use external GPS. I'm trying to use a program called GPS2Blue to route the signal from my internal GPS to a car PC via bluetooth. I thought the WM6 BT stack does support SPP, but does not advertise it as a service, thus creating the difficulty in creating SPP connections. I could be wrong though...
u dont need to create incoming port - thats if U want to recieve some data from [another device] with TC data flows 2 TC(tc is recipient) in your case u need too create OUTGOING (TC is sender)
incoming port problem
well I cannot use my bluetooth handsfree for incoming calls on my T-Mobile Vario II.I can make outgoing calls. There is no option in WM6 for creating incoming part.
I have tried diffrent bluetooth sets but no joy.I had no problems with WM5.
Any help will greatly be appreciated.

Wether a port is incoming or outgoing depends on which device initiates the connection, not which way data flows. For example, in your earlier example of an external BT GPS paired with a Pocket PC, the Pocket PC uses an outgoing connection to the GPS because it initiates the connection, not because data is flowing from the PPC to the GPS.
This is why I need to create an incoming port for my computer to see the PPC as an external BT GPS unit. The mapping program on the computer initiates the connection, then GPS coordinates are sent from the phone to the computer.
I've seen other programs that create their own virtual incoming port. Maybe that is what GPSGate does (I've heard it works for this use).

well I have two Brand New MDA Vario 2 handsets with offical Tmobile windows mobile 6 rom. Mobile handset cannot be faulty.
As I said it was working fine when it was on WM5.
Bletooth headset work perfectly with other mobile phones including Vario 1 with WM5.
regards
I have Polaris(o2 orbit2) & MotoROKR S9(beckham ed) w/o any probs. but this thread is dedicated to polaris, maybe smth similar was already covered in vario II thread. Try to check there, or post it there.
I have an old Motorola H350 headset and it works fine both ways (incoming/outgoing calls)... so based on your descriptions the incoming port of my Polrais works...
For setting Incoming port you can just simply copy few registry entries from WM5 to WM6.
I have used it for my application smartWatchM. I dont know how it works, but it does.

Thank you. You are my Hero...
It`s exact that`s what I need. Now my Bluetooths Device is working fine, and the XDA Orbit2 (Polaris) is the best PDA for my Requirements.
And Greetings to "Schaggo" Member in St. Gallen... Thanks for your good Work.
Is there any chance someone could let me know what those registry settings are? I have the same problem with not being able to create an incoming com port but I don't have a wm5 device to reference at the moment.
Thanks in advance,

hi
i have a problem with my bluetooth, my instrument is vpa compact ii with wm 05. my insrument can find and send files to other insruments like pda and cell phones, but they can not find me, so i can't get files from others. i did not have this problem before, i can't point when it started but my be i dowloaded something that is blocking my bluetooth. what do i have to do? i don't want to go for HR. by the way, iv'e marked the possibility of let other instruments to find me so this is not the problem.
discoverable have to be on
auto receive incoming beams have to be on
it is on but still not working.
I'm going to guess this is a no, but I figure I'll ask anyway just in case. Is there a way to have WP7 pair to more than one BT device? For instance, pair the headset feature to my car and A2DP music to a separate receiver?
Thanks,
Ben
Hi,
Yes, dual pairing is possible. The only problem is that in WP7 you can not define, which service shall be used by every device. In Android you can check at every device, whether it shall use "Handsfree" and/or "Stereo Sound (A2DP)".
But if you have an unlocked device and a registry editor, then you can tweak it in the registry.
Goto:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/Device
Here you find all paired devices with cryptical names (e.g. 000ff6…). Click on it and you see the "name" of device. In folder "Services" you find subfolders with supported services (Handsfree and/or A2DP). You can change "enabled" from Dword=1 to Dword=0 to disable it.
This way you can define, which service shall be supported by which device.

Perfect! In the BT screen on the phone, will this get around tapping a device to pair disconnecting from the other device, or will this only work with auto pairing?
Now I just need to figure out why my HD2 locks up and reboots on A2DP audio playback.
Thanks again,
Ben
Unfortunately the above tweak seems not to work. At least for my HTC HD2 with Pdaimatejam 7.3 ROM. I have a bluetotooth device for my car with "handsfree" and "stereo sound" service. I want to use only the stereo. But even when I delete the "handsfree" entry in the registry my phone connects always with both services.
Regarding the reboots after connecting to bluetooth devices with "stereo" A2DP service I have the same problem with my HD2. It seems to be a common topic, maybe related to the ROM.

Ahh, well that's disappointing. Did you reboot after you changed the registry settings, and did they remain set after reboot? As for A2DP on the HD2 and the ROM, I have had it happen in PDA and Ultra, but not Yuki. Unfortunately Yuki has the really high BT battery drain.
Ben
thanks a bunch - I was looking for this very solution and it works great on my Mango Nokia 710
