would there be a reason for my JFv1.42 rc33 with gloss suite theme to freez on the bootloader screen after a data reset"? i cannot get the phone to go past boot load screen after reboot... !!!1
Have you tried booting into safe mode, and just re-flashing?
What was the last thing you done before this happened .....
Flash with a fresh install of JF 1.42 RC33 then apply your theme.
tried that
last thing before it happend was a factory data reset. and i have re installed jf11.42..... still will not load past android scrren, keeps looping

Hi there,
unfortunatelly, my G1 doesn't boot anymore after installing Jf's 1.5 update.
It stops at the startupscreen saying:
G1
T-Mobile
Here's what i did:
- Used the JF-Updater App to first update Radio, then update.
This was the first time I got stuck.
Since then i tried the 1.43 recovery image and reinstalling JF's update, bt no luck. Any Ideas?
Wipe. Alt+W @ recovery and reboot
the inital expansion of apk files and other stuff could take 5-10mins, just be patient. But if the phone never passes the G1 screen, you may want to wipe or update again.
I had the same problem after installing lucidrom... it really freaked me out... it was stuck at the G1 screen for the longest time... neither wipe nor reflash worked for me... I had to start all over from RC29... it was a pain, and I nearly messed up my SD card... just a pain, try wipe/reflash, but if it doesn't work you might have to redo the whole process from the start (with RC29)
If you have apps2sd it takes a while to move everything over. The ext2 partition is mounted differently in the adp build. I had the same problem, wiping actually caused my problem. I did a nandroid backup and updated without a wipe and just watched everything ahppen. If youre concerned, after you do the update, connect your phone to your PC go to where you have the adb folder, and type adb logcat, you will see a log as th ephone boots, so you can see if its still working or looping
Well, wiping with "alt+w" and then reboot did id for me, it seems
Yay. thank you guys!
So out of nowhere my Incredible started rebooting on a loop. I have the MIUI installed on it and has always worked fine, but now it won't boot.
I plugged the phone into my comp and it won't show up in "my computer" either.
What do you advise I do?
I went to bootloader and tried factory reset on the phone and that won't work either...just keeps looping the boot screen.
anyone know?
So you can still get to the factory reset? After doing this, does it remain in the recovery screen long enough to reflash? Try using your old NANDroid backup and reflashing. Hopefully this will work.
I had been using Kang's CM7 for a while when I recieved a call and all of a sudden my phone looped. A friend suggested to reapply updates on CM7 through open recovery, which usually works on his XT720,... and so I did it. Unluckily, my phone ran out of battery in the middle of the reapplying process. When I turned it on again, it loops over and over again.
I somehow managed to get into the bootloader and flashed it with a CE stock rom. It went until the "please manually power up your phone" phase and my phone started looping back. I decided to try to flash it with some other roms but still succeeded only until the the "please manually power up your phone".
Tried to wipe data/factory reset from the system recovery (2e) but still it loops at the M logo. It cant find any update.zip too in the sd card (if it matters).
I did search the forum and tried a bunch of things, but to no avail. Any help?
PS: Sorry for the weird English
How certain are you that your battery was fully charged when you flashed sbf? I would start there. If you can't boot after sbf, I'm suspicious of battery. Some people might recommend removing sdcard.
Sent from my Milestone XT720 using xda premium
Well, the indicator showed 100% fully charged when I flashed it. I once put another better battery too but still it looped like hell. Tried removing SD card too but still didn't work a thing. Any other method?
So today I woke up and my phone was stuck at the Google logo and would not boot up after having no problems ever. I tried to factory reset the phone using the hammerhead build on Google's website, but it gets stuck at "erasing 'cache'" and my phone hangs at the bootloader when it gets to this point.
I've also tried installing CWM and wiping from there - cache erases fine but erasing data gets errors such as "Error mounting /data."
I don't really know where to go from here so any help?
Figured it out
Ok, never mind, I figured it out. I flashed a Kit-Kat bootloader to solve the freezing problem and manually flashed all the factory files line by line. Booting up well now.
Ok, so I think I may have finally killed one of my S2 Skyrockets.
I attempted to use the factory reset function from within Candy 5.1.1. However, on reboot the phone entered TWRP, or rather tried. Instead of booting into the recovery, it just kept restarting over and over again. I couldn't get it to boot into the OS or TWRP.
Thinking I had just soft-bricked it, I went into ODIN mode and uploaded a full restore image. Now I don't get stuck in a TWRP bootloop, I am stuck in a different bootloot. I see "Rethink Possible" go black, wait a few seconds, then it restarts again. I have pulled the battery out several times, attempted to boot into recovery (where I get the original TWRP bootloop) etc.
Is there any way to recover this device, or am I hosed?
[UPDATE]
Ok, this was one of the scarier things I've run into, but I recovered the phone. I used the sammobile version of the UCMC1 image (which blows away everything). This didn't reboot, it just hung. However, I was able to get into 3e (the stock recovery) and do a factory reset. THAT got me past the block. I'm now in the process of putting TWRP back on along with Candy.
Apparently you REALLY don't want to screw with the factory reset function...
