i m using s2u2 with unlocksound enable, there are times when i wish to unlock the phone with the unlocksound muted.
the only way now for me to unlock the phone silently is to eject my storagecard before i unlock since my sound.wav file is stored there.
how can i invoke the VolumeControl when ny phone is locked?
turn the sound of the device off (profile silent).

Because i am using Direct Push to get my emails on our secure exchange server Windows forces me to enter a password when turning on my Orbit 2. Trouble is the brightness of the backlight is reduced almost immediately i turn my phone on and it makes it very difficult (in fact almost impossible) to see the screen to enter my password especially in daylight. Can anyone help?
Hi Bortis, I'm new to the forum so spent ages trying to find a solution to a similar problem.
I dont set the pasword lock all of the time but had the same problem with the keylock. i.e. when locked the backlight went off.
I needed to use a registry editor (PHM Regedit in my case)
I then edited registry keys as shown on the top of page 2 on

I know the usual answer is 'do a search' but having spent ~ 6 hours doing that I HTH.
cheers

I had the same problem with my Orbit II. I followed some simple advice from NoFatePPC and have had no problems since even after doing a reset
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
go here in your registry:
\HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel
you should see a bunch of keys and a folder called "LockLevel" - inside that folder is the LockLevel key with a value of 1 or 0 - you don't need to go inside that folder. just rename it from "LockLevel" to "LockLevelx" (add an x to the end of the folder's name)...
that's it.

Cannot unlock password on Orbit 2
Hello,
I have an HTC Orbit 2 (POLA 200). It's locked in O2, but that not the problem. The problem I'm having is that it suddenly started to show me the password unlock screen. I've tried to hard reset it and access the boot loader, but it is NOT working When I try to hard reset it (camera button + reset button, then release the reset button and keep the camera button pushed) it just restarts normally. It shows that "O2 Welcome" splash screen, then the screen with Windows Mobile 6.1 and then it gives the password screen. On the top, it appears that I have signal through HDSPA and the muted sound icon. Also, it says that I can make only emergency calls. I don't know what to do, because I haven't set any password. I've tried a few standard ones like: 1234, 0000 - but nothing. However, if I put in "999" without the quotes, the screen light gets stronger and it says that I must press DIAL to talk, but that's the emergency thing . I have to let you know that I cannot sync the phone through active sync or anything like that.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Hello,
I have some trouble with my Windows Mobile 6.5 SEX1 device.
After installing HTC Rhodium Menu Enhancements and HTC Scroll the touch screen does not work. This alone is not a problem thanks to the keyboard, but, i accidentally clicked the wrong soft-key, so the slide-to-unlock screen is engaged.
The USB-to-PC mode is set to "disk mode" so I cannot unlock the phone via ActiveSync.
A hard-reset is not an option since I have data on the device which I would not like to loose. Do you guys have any ideas on how to rectify this issue?
EDIT1: I even made an attempt to salvage the important files by making an autorun.exe application which would copy the files to my SD-card without success.
Kind regards

Your Slide to unlock screen is engaged, right? if its S2U2 you can just soft reset and keep pressing the up button on your device which should prevent it from locking. From there you should be alright navigating to settings to change your USB connection to Activesync. If its the default windows lock screen you should be able to use the same process.
Hi,
I got new Samsung Omnia Pro4 (B7350)
WM 6.5.3
And my problem is that if you have password lock (even though you set at after certain hours), AND lock screen when device is woken up turn on, EACH time you press the lock button and slide button, you will be prompt for a password. VERY VERY annoying. If I remember in previous OS, you can unlock screen without password even though it is set after certain hours.
I use this password lock whit my BT watch, so if my phone is too far from the watch (lost or stolen) it would lock itsef.
But now it's allready locked when I press the screen off button off and on.
It's very annoying to tap password every time, cause the prompt time does not work.
(The watch program work only if the lock is enabled, and I have set the prompt time 2hours)
I just would like to "time to unused" work.
Any help or ideas?
elo,
have you managed to fix this problem?
It's very annoying :/ Previously I unlocked my phone only at simcard change and reboot.
I have the S8+ & almost always have on both my Huawei watch & a BT headset around my neck. I never take my phone out of my pocket to answer calls. The problem is, the phone keeps the screen on with the phone app in my pocket running after I answer a call. This causes button presses leading to hanging up, mute, changing settings, etc... I have the "Keep screen turned off" option on & set pin or fingerprint to unlock the device.
What am I missing?!? It's driving me crazy! Even tried to have tasker turn off the screen but that locks it to where you can't unlock with just a fingerprint. Why is it even turning on the screen at all in my pocket?
I'm used to answering calls with phone in my pocket and using headphones.
This worked well on my m8, but after upgrade to u11, when call finishes, screen remains on and no lock.
This means that I have to take it out of pocket and lock it.
Is there a way to prevent that?
Maybe in your settings you have define a lock timeout for that?
Mine when call ends shows the PIN Unlock screen. If it's in my pocket it just lock again, I've set 1 minute to it self lock.
