Hp ipaq data messenger vodafone rom update - Non-Touchscreen Windows Mobile Other

Hi,
i want to update my new hp ipaq data messenger vodafone with new rom released by HP. Unfortunatly there is no new version for vodafone SKU to download, also not on the vodafone homepage.
Questions:
- Who can dump the original VDF ROM ?
- How can I install the ROM from the HP website ?
- How can I skip the SKU ID Check?
- How can I change the SKU ID on my device?
-- needed SKU ID: FB149AA#ABD
-- provided SKU ID: AB150AA#ABD

iPAQ Data Messenger change language
Hi all,
I also need to change the language from NL to ENG on this device. Can't get in in the bootloader mode to skip the SKU check
I even tried to replace the ROMUpdate.dll as they did with the iPAQ 512/514

This will also work if you want to update your iPAQ 512/514 to another language. Here are the steps:
1. Download your desired iPAQ 512/514 ROM update
2. Unpack the RUU files by executing the SPXXXXX.exe file
3. Click next until you see green screen with 'iPAQ Update Utility'
4. Cancel the 'iPAQ Update Utility'
5. goto C:\iPAQ\SPXXXXX and change ROMupdate.dll with the attached file
6. Run hpRUU.exe from the same folder and proceed with updating your iPAQ 512/514
But obvious that doesn't work
So what is left? what can I do?
tnx in advance!!

qtec s100 upgrade problems

hi,
i am new to this forum. i have just bought a qtec s100 and i downloaded the rom from buymobiles.net (which i think is 1.12)
I am getting the country id error. I am on the O2 network and living in the UK.
I also bought a 2gb sd card from HK earlier this week in ebay. The card seems to work, although my s100 can not see it
I am very new to this, and would appreciate it if you guys could give me clear instructions on what to do... i mean, "rom upgrade for dummies"
I am also interested in getting Tom Tom 5. Could you guys recommend good places to buy / download it from...

Heres how I did this:
1. Make a backup of your rom - see around this forum how to do that!
2. Download MaUpgradeUt_noID from this forum.
3. Make a folder on your desktop and put the downloaded files in.
4. Unzip/extract your new rom in this folder.
5. Run the exe.file MaUpgradeUt_noID not the original loader.
6. The romupgrade should now run - follow the steps!
7. You have the new Qtek s100 1.12 rom.
i use ma_o2asia_11100_922_11100_ship
how to use MaUpgradeUt_noID ?

Corrupt ROM files on XDA FTP

I found the ROM files on ftp.xda-developers.com in /VOX/rom.
However all 3 files are corrupt
I'm in particular interested in these 2 files, the dopod file I found on the Dopod site:
RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.2_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Ship.exe
RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.2_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Test.exe
Can someone please upload them again? Thx!
EDIT1: we have a good chance on free SIM and CID unlocking if we can find the older ROM upgrade files which have names like "RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.04.xxxxx". This means they have SPL bootloader 1.04 which allows us to unlock. I know these ROMs exist since someone talked about it here. If someone has or finds these please upload them!
EDIT2: the WWE_1.15 files can probably be repaired because just one or two 4KB blocks are repeated. I spotted that by comparing the corrupt and good version of the Dopod site. Someone would need to write a little proggy to find the offsets of these blocks.
I've fixed the corrupt files. You can now download all 3 currently available ROMs here on XDA's FTP site
RUU_Vox_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.19.707.3_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Ship.exe
RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.2_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Test.exe
RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.2R4_4.1.13.37_02.83.90_Ship.exe
The test and ship version are nearly identical (IPL, SPL and Radio are binary identical and OS is binary slightly different)
I'm still looking for a v1.04 ROM. If someone has it, please let me know.
How to update VOX ? I got INVALID VENDER ID with ...Ship .exe and INVALID MODEL ID with ...Test .exe
What model exactly is ur phone? Is it an original HTC S710, Dopod C500, or some branded provider model? And what firmware exactly is on it right now (look up ROM version in Settings -> Device Information)?
Original HTC S710, not locked on any provider.
ROM 1.15.402.4
Radio v. 4.1.13.37_02.83.90
It's simple once you know it
In order to upgrade your ROM with the RUU (ROM Upgrade Utility) both the model ID (aka Device ID) and vendor ID (aka Carrier ID == CID) of your current ROM must be the same as the corresponding IDs in the ROM you want to flash. If any of these IDs doesn't match you get the corresponding error message INVALID VENDOR ID (CID doesn't match) or INVALID MODEL ID (Device ID doesn't match) and RUU refuses to update the ROM. The only way to update your device is to CID unlock it. My target is to develop a free solution for that (USPL or SSPL, see the Vox bootloader topic I've started).
The "test" version has this version info:
Code:
Device: VOX010000
CID: HTC__001
Version: 1.15.405.2
Language: ENG
The "ship" version has this version info:
Code:
Device: VOX010100
CID: HTC__001
Version: 1.15.405.2
Language: UK
The "Dopod C500" version has this version info:
Code:
Device: VOX010100
CID: DOPOD001
Version: 1.19.707.3
Language: USA
I think your Device ID = VOX010100 and your Vendor ID (CID) = HTC__000
The RUU runs a tool called RUUGetInfo.exe to get this data. I haven't tried to run it on my Vox yet.
Also uploaded the Ship version (not R4). Maybe this helps for the guy with the invalif vendor ID thing.
You shouldn't happen to have access to a nordic rom?
FTP
Hi,
I tried to download the Fixed Rom's but thr FTP seems to be secured or not accessable!

Hello,

What can I do?

Bah, thanks for fixing the link, I forgot to insert u/p into the URL.

Worth upgrading from WM6 to WM6?

That's not a typo - I have the unofficial WM6 ROM image that was floating around a few months ago and now Palm has officially released the WM6 ROM - I am wondering if it is worth the time and trouble to reinstall all my apps etc?
https://ws.palm.com/SupportDownload/app?service=external/Home&sp=20
I did it. Differences i found:
- better reception (newer firmware)
- about 2 mb less of programm memory
- Windows Live not included by default
The memory loss comes from the fact that the extendedROM files, carrierDb and cappackage are located in the windows root directory and not in the hidden extended ROM. You can delete them but they reappear after a soft reset.
Otherwise the new ROM is very stable and not slower than the previously installed Vodafone ROM.
Treo telstra can up grade this rom ?
Can this rom be upgrade to the telstra Palm treo 750 .
Follow the link and put down the serial numbers of the phone then it let me download
Is it mean Ok to install ? Please advised
It is saying that my serial number is not valid.
I have a US AT&T 750 running TREO-1.13-ATT.
Now that this is official on the International site, how do I get the image and will it work without unlocking my phone?
Sorry... should have looked before I lept. I found my answer immediately in the updating forum.

Garminfone A50 / A10 How to flash ROM's

Credit to vs2 who discovered this.
This is not flashing a custom ROM, but rather flashing another official Garmin ROM onto your phone from another country.
Try this at your own risk. Consider yourself warned.
This is reportedly working fine on the A50 (Garminfone) & A10.
I found this posted over at Howard Forums by "vs2".
I wiped my T-Mobile Garminfone and put A50 firmware for Canada's Videotron on it. It works fine and does not have the "offers" etc. that bloated up the T-Mo version. Traffic works just fine too. I now have French rather than Spanish on it.
You may need an unlock code. I did after I did a Master Clear. But if I did not do the master clear, I was fine...
vs2 said:
Instructions: (worked for me)
1. Have two micro SD cards
2. On one put the same update file that is already on your phone.
2. On the other put the new firmware you want to update to.
3. With phone off practise taking phone cover off/on and removing SD card.
4. Turn phone on with SD card that had existing firmware update on. Update notice will show and ask if you want to update - say yes, then it should say update is the same as already on your phone do you still want to update, don't accept or decline. Now quickly pull off cover and exchange SD cards and put cover back on. You may get a message about battery cover - go ok. Then the same 'do you want to update' message should appear - go ok.(you may need to pull down the yellow exclamation from the top to accept the update if the window does not show) Be patient and wait your screen will show 'verifing' then reboot and could be a black screen for 10-15 minutes. (try it with out a Master Clear first, your apps will still be registered and you may not require an unlock code!) as your old settings/apps will still be on phone. It may be ok to leave them on??

Some countries have packaged them inside an .exe file (OPTUS for Australia). I used WinRar to extract them from the .exe and followed the procedure above.

Hello,
I don't know if this thread is still alive or if anyone is listening, but I'll try anyway...
I need to reflash my Garmin A10 ROM back to "out of the box" state. But I have been unable to find the proper .update file I need.
My A10 model was manufactured for European Open market with Android 2.1, European maps and all languages incl French.
Among the files you mention above, none would suit my device...The one I could possibly use would be the DK_Open market (Denmark); hoping it contains all the other European language options. But it seems to be for the A50 device; so I have some hesitation as to flashing it on my A10 model. Are both models so close in hardware features that this would work ?
Otherwise, the original ROM I need is this one :
A10:2.1-update 1/ERE27/A10-V5.071-user-20101027EUOM
If anyone has this .update or knows where I can get it, I would be so happy !
Seems it has been removed from all Garmin Support/download sites, as I was able to find all the ones you mention above, but not this particular update...Possibly it was not available for download because A10 models sold in Europe that were not Open market, could then be "jailbroken" and therefore accept any SIMM and telephony operator...My guess anyway.
But also possibly this ROM was downloadable for some time and perhaps someone would still have a copy of it...
Thank you very much if someone can help,
gtournier

Installing official XEU firmwa, but I get a german version (german CSC and language)

I've installed the XEU version found here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8-plus/SM-G955F/XEU/ following the guide from here: https://www.sammobile.com/forum/threads/37508-How-to-install-S8-firmware
I've downloaded the file and repacked contents as per the guide here https://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-odin-t3748555 because odin would just freeze otherwise (at partitioning step).
I don't have any other firmware versions downloaded and the names match, however, after installation what I get is a german system (initializing in german) that has the german CSC code.
I'll add that the phone is brand new and was Three branded (UK) initially.
Am I missing something?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
*edit*
Turns out you just have to install witt h the sim card in... well. The more you know!
