Beasty & Laurentius.. Next Update Friday 16 November....New Core and Build

Hi All,
Beasty and Laurentius latest Rom update:
Hi all the new Core and Buld will be released this Friday originaly in Vanilla only, other build flavours will follow.
The first update to this Rom is Now available at the bottom of this post.
This is not a new or latest build WM6 Rom, this is an improvement/major update to our last release.
There is no VideoCall functionality in this Rom at all. No Outgoing & no incoming VC.
The purpose of this release is to make a stable, reliable WM6 Rom with some good packages and graphics.
Thanks to all the Developers on this forum and others (DarkForces Team & 4WinMobile)
Special thanks to Mamaich, Helmi, Buzz, JWrightMCPs, Ivan, Ranju, Darkforces Team, ThingOnASpring,Julian Munford and so many others for all your help, wonderful contributions to this forum and all the knowledge we have all learnt from you all.
Thanks also to all the Rom users here for your feedback and comments, it's these that help us all progress.
Please note....... We have not fully tested Vanilla and Business Flavours apart from Flashing the Rom.
There may be some invalid shortcuts in the Vanilla Flavour due to the shortcuts being in Beasty tweaks......sorry guys....I'll fix that and re-upload at some point.
Source will be uploaded........Eventually, the Full Flavour Rom does not include the RGU's as it saved 1.5 MB of space( and we needed that space badly)
All other flavours are complete Roms with RGU's included...........ENJOY........

Update now available, Pocket CM removed as Default Contact Manager, but included in Programs\Phone, if you still wish to use it.​
Dialer updated to resolve display issues of operator name etc
Keyboard backlight timer upped to 30 secs (Please do not attempt to change or you will loose this 30sec setting)
Notifications fixed, ringtones updated and fixed.
A few tweaks to Pocket IE, Cache, Cookies and History set to SD Card and Cache size limit increased,

How about Incoming Video Call? Does it work? I am waiting patiently for Beast wonderful ROM.

guys.. just ask... is this ROM WM5 or WM6 ? the task bar is WM5... well.. just see the rom later.. will patient wait this great ROM !

I'm not a big fan of ROMs with lots of additions/changes from default, so it's great that you are offering a number of flavours.
Just a minor request - for the icons for folders, e.g. games, would it be possible to include the icon sat on top of a folder so we haven't lost the fact that it's a folder?
I must admit, I prefer your Vista bootsplash, rather than the "HTC" one - the writing across the middle is what puts me off, I think.
I'm glad you've gone down the route you have though. I think the latest ROMs built on different cores have had some quirks and instability problems, and it will be great to have a ROM where you guys have worked on the bugs and stability side of things.

Vanilla all the way, i wan't that extra free space rather than having stupid useless app's which i know i won't use.. I need just Office, Live and Phone No other fancy **** imo
Looking out for this release as i'm now still with WM5 after having a bad experience with another rom here
And like the guy above, i don't like the HTC bootsplash.. it's just too, too wrong, it doesn't fit in the design of the rest of the stuff Please give us the option for the Vista bootsplash

Again as my roms are made for me. so why would I need a registry editor if my hacks are already installed. and as for the dialer its the best one I feel so if you don't like reinstall other one.

Whatever, Mr. "I'll add links and posts in a bit". If you finish the first post FIRST, and maybe the question won't have to be asked. I read the first post, and most everything else you've posted, which is why I didn't REQUEST anything be added. However, just saying its stripped down is one thing, this is a whole frickin' other ROM altogether. Maybe that's why you went a whole version number up, but it's no reason for you to be a jerk about it. Nevertheless, thanks for making some good roms.

I am a newbie Do I have to remove my older version of TouchIT wm6.1 19199.1.0.0 and go back to HARD-SPL before I install this new version?
Do I still need the X_button.cab?
I also have another problem, since I updated my rom for the first time yesterday I have problems with the ActiveSync, it doesn't synchonisate. Does anyone know what te problem could be?

I already found out that I can install it without going back to the HARD-SPL.
In this new version the Today-screen is not having the programma with the clock, weather, music, etc. like the other version? Is this correct?
I'am sorry if I ask stupid questions, I hope you don't mind.

This is a clean rom, So you will need to choose and install the applications you like. So if you like the programme with clock.. weather .. music.. aka HTC Home.. You will need to install it.

First impression:
- Fast, fast, fast
- after installing my apps and modding it = 30,5MB free RAM
- all responding very fast
- A2dp with Motorolla S9 working
- Music in standby working

- turning the device off with 3sec Powerbutton doesnt work (wait cursor)
- WMP takes a HUGE Ram - audiomanager never did....

I see you got the Arcsoft MMS v5 on there... so definitely very excited about it. The last Rom was absolute perfection (minus mms not working) so I can't wait to flash this!!

I was to tired yesterday to add credits
I will make another update to this rom today

I have an issue with this rom and thats the backlight program in settings. It will exit immediately. You can see the screen flash and catch a glimpse of it but thats it. I´ve checked and it´s not running in the background. The same happens if go by power-settings and choose backlight from left-side softkey.
Other from that a nice and very fast rom. Thanks very much.

Running out of words convey how good your rom releases are. I think my Herald loves you. It's starting to believe it's a Kaiser now. Is a "black version" in the works by in any chance?

Known Issues.....
Original v4 had wifi bug, new version does not!!!!!
Left hard button doesnt work in thumbcal, however tapping the screen does work. I dont think this is a bug with the rom, i believe the actual app worked this way.

Ringtone File Size Limit Hack
I noticed that we could not use ringtones larger than 600k, not a problem for most, but it is a simple fix for the couple of us that care about such things. Here's the hack:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds]
"FileSizeLimit"=0

mark, Do you suggest 1.65.20.29 radio that was part of the recent AT&T 3.55 build or do you have a particular one in mind that suites best? I am flashing and I will keep my current radio 65.20.29 for now unless you come up with some other suggestion.

I am so glad this is out!! First 6.1 since Dutty's Dutty's WM6.1 5.2.19209 Release . . . Currently using 1.58.11.07 Do you have a radio preference? at&t Phoenix? Alltheway (BTW, congrat's on the Mod promo!), any suggestions??
I did the hardspl 3.29 so I'm ready to bring this on! I'll post findings ASAP!

I would first try the 1.65.20.29 radio.
If that one doesn't work I would give the NEON 1.58.25.17 a whirl. The 1.58.11.07 radio you speak of will sadly not work on this ROM

who create the hardSPL 3.56? is better i think from 3.29 right?
so must change it...

Thanks for the advice! I knew that 1.58.11.07 wouldn't work but matching radios to builds these days seems important and I have been following the radio nuances. I can't wait to see how this works!

Hey nice find! But I believe it's just an image error as I'm looking at my CommManager and the Ringer icon is there. So it seems to be me and my Paint.Net skills, or lack thereof that is! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for the suggestions! I used the latest Att build as a base so this should be the current version of MSVC but I'll re-verify. I like the idea about the smart dialer. And One Note wouldn't take up much space as well. I'll be back in to the kitchen sometime either tomorrow or Monday when I should be working! Keep the ideas coming guys, I'm ready for more!
