Development has stopped as of August 19, 2009 as I now no longer have a Kaiser
Hi guys, a quick intro of myself, been lurking around on xda developers for quite some time now (ever since my O2 xda, then hermes, and now kaiser), so i just wanna say thank you to this awesome community thats unknowingly helped me through three phones already! This community has been great and helped me a lot, so I'd like to give something back...SO! without further adieu...
I've tried many ROMs during my time here at xda, and man, they're all so nice! Custom boot screens, flashy skins, colorful icons, but none of them really suited my taste. I wanted something clean, professional, something I can take to work without looking like a kid (even though I still am one at heart!). The only one that didn't have customized icons that was still fast enough for me was the solacev2, so out came this ROM, based on mbarvian's SolaceV2.
Let me know how it runs, its my first ROM, so there's bound to be bugs and issues. I'll try to fix them as fast as I can!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST! I would like to thank the entire xda community, and especially mbarvian, who walked me through how to cook my first ROM!

all ready try it and use it now, Solace series was one of my favorites, after M2D TouchFlo issue and several fixes and last it's discontinued.

Just found several things, on random access (contacts) does it necessary to shown upper bar triple letter, i guess random access is quite enough.
Second one, at Quick GPS, i hope it used brighter background, existing one was to dark, i can't see GPS data status, except expired word in red colored letter.

I too have problem with scrolling in contacts.. in file explorer its fine though.

Fast, clean but with all the apps I need!
The bug I found is on the settings tab in manilla.
When I press sounds it tries to load sounds but I get a little white box with nothing in it.
Maybe its only my Kaiser but I think it's worth to mention.

thanks panja, i got the same problem on my kaiser too. i'll look into it.
sounds like a missing dependency, either graphics or actual DLLs and such.

haha thanks man, yaeh im working on the screenshots at the moment, but if anyone has time, if someone can screen shot for me, and i'll just put it back together, that would be awesome. if not, i'll just have to take my sweet time with it hahaha.
as for your second question erwinpiero, you should be able to just install your own skin over mine.

Its been tested for about a week, its based on my everyday needs, it runs smoothly and it has decent video playback!!!
I have replaced the graphics dll with the one from the LG KS20. I know this is not a solution, but many people (including myself) have observed slightly better graphic responce.
I have also included the Pocket IE Scrolling fix. This way you dont have to do anything at all to improve the graphic performance of your device, its already up to its "software limits". The only thing we can do now is wait for a proper driver

Yeah but also when it's in the ROM my sound drops badly. Have tested with 5 roms what had this incliuded.

Do you meen the sound volume or the sound quality? Because I havent had any of these problems in SNE or SNE V2.0 ... weird

all you have to do is set the parameters to max... and leave it in headphone mode... the sound is wayy better than stock. ive tested it out side by side with two kaisers (one with, one without) you can totally hear the difference. the only bad thing is that you have to switch it back to headphone mode with each soft reset... or after inserting anything into the usb port (usb sync, usb charger, or headphones)
but other than that, on a sidenote to wiseman
why the ks20 video drivers? do they show a favorable difference? also, if the kaiser or tilt is missing drivers... did you completely replace them with the ks20 ones... or add in the lackthereof drivers... to the existing kaiser video drivers...
will be testing shortly... am not above 50% yet
great job though, the idea seems quite promising.

Zubi, I can confirm that I cannot check my power either. I have also found out that the bluetooth drivers aren't installed for the wing either. Eh, but I just noticed that its for p4350.......

Ok i flashed this thing and booted it.
Got into the wizard to get everything up and running, the thing started the customization, finished it succesfully.
After a reboot im stuck at entering the pincode, sometimes i make it past this but then im stuck watching a blue screen, the background inflated.
Im unable to use keyboard or stylus from this moment.
I cant connect it to activesync to try and flash again, what can i do?

try hard reset, or reflash
I can't get batterystatus to show up on the today screen. it only shows a blank space where it should be, I have placed a red rectangle in the screeny where it should have been.
Under advanced options in bs click reset viewstate at today screen
BatteryStatus 1.05.0313 (THIS IS USED AS TASKMANAGER/X-BUTTON, ENABLE IT)
This does not work. I even reinstalled bs and still did not work on my wing. I installed X_Button_working.CAB and that fixed the x button. I cant find large start menu icon to turn off large start menu. I use quickmenu and and large start menu has to be turned off. Do you know reg setting is. Thanx

- To fix the keyboard not being configured properly, install Tilt Keyboard Fix then soft-reset
- To use MMS, follow these instructions (thanks sakajati!):
1. Install ArcsoftMMS 5_0_31_16
2. Extract cingnet_settings.zip and proceed the following steps
3. Install cingular_ppc_cert.cab
4. Install cing_mms_setting.cab
5. Install cing_connection_settings.cab
6. Install PT_Extra_RIL_Setting_13Mar08.cab
7. Soft-Reset
To fix the ClearType Issues (thanks the clueless!):
1. Open PHM Registry Editor from Start Menu > Programs > Tools, and make sure the following keys are correct:

Nice work, I was playing with the throttle roms, but I can't make myself like them. I think the main annoyance is the kaiser has a border on the screen and you can't easily select the very left or very right buttons. I assume the border is flush on the diamond / touch pro.

In my opinion, yes, but 3d tests will not be as smooth
I flashed the ROM last night, and it's pretty slick, very nicely done. Cleartype in landscape mode is totally messed up, however. I'm able to view text and type in landscape mode, but auto-completion just shows an empty box. (There are words in it, as you can see the highlight bar, but the text is invisible, highlighted or not.)
Additionally, if you're running a program, then switch the orientation from portrait to landscape, all text disappears.
(I know, it's a problem common to all WM6.1-based ROMs without special cooking, but in seeing the item, re: landscape fixed in Opera, as well as using the different driver, I was hoping that it was fixed.)

yes, in my next release I am going to remove opera (WAY too many bugs in every version I try) and include a .cab that will fix cleartype if you are willing to give up Direct 3d My next one will also be based on the latest diamond build
Anyone have stability problems with this ROM?
I really want to try it, sometimes I use my phone for work and I need stability.

I just downloaded and was wondering why the TouchFlo interface keeps shutting down when I use a program in the background.
Just let ATT settings automaticlly register and installed my PIM, just soft resetted and will let you know if this continues....
Otherwise looks nice, running smooth

Soft reset seems to have fixed the problem, and hey!!! wheres your Opal keyboard Packge installing that now but thought you would have put it in. Only other program I think would be nice to add would be PIM to restore contacts, appointments, ect....

I've had this for a while now but have been super lackadaisical so i'm releasing it now.
Requirements: You should be familiar with cooking and should have read the wiki several times to get an idea how to do this. It's fairly straight-forward to cook, however modifying, adding, deleting, and creating stuff could be a challange. The steps are as follows:
-Launch pkgtoolsbuildos5.3
-Go to the buildos tab
-Choose load ROM on top left
-Tick the programs that you want (i have provided hundreds of OEMs and if you want more, just create them using the CAB2OEM program i have included).
-Once the ROM is done cooking, pagepool patcher will come up. Choos the pagepool you want and exit it.
-An error about moving kaisimg.nbh will come up, perfectly fine.
-Your ROM is all done and can be found under tools>kaisimg.ngh
-Enjoy!

Note: Most of the stuff are run and completed automatically, therefore it skips the chance to edit the dump, choose splash screens, spl, etc. To edit this, simply edit Create_ROM_For_Kaiser under tools with notepad to create a pause.

Welcome back Kareem! I, too have, been gone for a while but that's been work related. Since Dutty moved on to the Diamond forum and my first Tilt went to the grave, I've been trying different Roms. Most I've found don't have such good battery life for me. I'm gonna try your Manilla rom and see where it goes. Thanks for comming back and for your cooking.
Keyboard
Hardware keyboard don't work right, when I want to type symbols with Fn key. For example: when I type Fn + C it show "=" (without quotes) instead of ":" (without quotes).
Also, sliding keyboard out cause wake up device even, I disabled this function via Advanced Configuration.
Anyway, this is fastest ROM I have ever tried. Thank you.
BTW: I don't understand, why you removed task manager...

Downloaded your Rom this morning. Set up all applications. So far so good. I have tried all Roms in the forum. I think this one is probably the best in outlook. Will have to use it for a while to test out the battery life span. Thank you for ur hard work
