Can’t believe we missed this! The brand new Motorola Q9 with Wi-Fi we just got? Yeah, that has Windows Mobile 6.1 on it! We’re getting the video up soon, but for now, check out our full Windows Mobile 6.1 gallery, and the new things we found!

Looks good, but I'd say this is just a modification done by the operator/manufacturer, like they did with the Treo 500v.
Nice but it wasnt touch screen device??

I believe its just an animated plugin. But we will just have to see is HTC will release a video fix and update with 6.1 for the Kaiser like they "say".
See if anyone has a Samsung SGH-i600 BlackJack maybe you can ask for a rom dump.
All Pictures of 6.1 I've seen was from Smartphones.
Are there any information/pictures/vids from 6.1 for PPCs?
ther are many windows mobile 6.1 videos on youtube.
just use the search funktion.

We’ve all been hearing rumors about Windows Mobile 7. You’ve probably seen the leaked screenshots, and I go over some of them here. We don’t really know if those represent the Standard/Smartphone version or the Professional/Pocket PC version of the operating system, or if there are even going to be multiple versions of Windows Mobile 7. Most of the screen shots indicate a move towards the Windows Mobile Standard style interface. You can even see that one of these mockups for a home screen has already made it into Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard Edition.
So now that we’ve seen Windows Mobile 6.1, what kind of features are on your wish list for Windows Mobile 7? What do you really want to see?

Just wondering if anyone had heard if they were going to release windows mobile 6.5 for smartphone not just for ppc
thanks
6.5
I want to know too
Seems that it will be for SP too:
http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=6335
"Windows Mobile 6.5, as it is called, still comes in two distinct flavors: one for touchscreen equipped devices (Professional edition), and one for those with regular displays (Standard edition)."

Looks pretty clean thanks a million
Hi Everybody !
you all know how strange it might be some requests form your boss but this is the most strange one !
My Boss has a system that work on WM 6.5 only and doesn't work on WM 7 and he requested that I should Provide him with 40 New WM 6.5 devices !
you know that they are not available currently So I figured out that I should buy new WM 7 Devices and Flash it Back to WM 6.5 !
I think theoretically this is possible but have anyone tried it ?!!!
I want to Try it on HTC 7 pro Device , Could anyone tell me wha the steps I need to do that ?
any other suggested Devices ? I only want it to be New ,with QWERTY keypad and I can install WM 6.5 on it !
Thank you all in Advance.
I don't think this will be simple, your best bet will be buying old stock of a WM 6.5 device. Many sellers on Ebay will still stock them I am sure.
Windows Phone 7 is a completely different product to WM 6.5, it is not just an upgrade. Think of it as a completely different product, because it really is. The OS and the hardware are very tightly integrated in mobile devices so you will probably have more trouble backporting a new WM7 phone to 6.5 that you will rewriting the system he needs, assuming it is his won work. Have you checked to see if the system runs on another OS such as blackberry or android?
Thank you for help.
The System works on on WM 6.5 !
if it is not possible to install WM 6.5 on a WM 7 device Do you think it can be done on an Android Device?

everything is possible. if you can run ubuntu on android y not windows??
Theoretically it is possible.
but how to do that practically ? this is the problem !!!
HD2 is almost hardware similair to HD7. There is also experimentally the way to update HD2 to WP7 from HD7. But HD2 is still native WM6.5.3 device.

I want to put WM 6.5 on HD7 ! Do you think that is possible ?
Until cottula Didn´t release anything then you are gone. HD2 is "Native WM 6.5" Device So you can do on it upgrade! but you can´t downgrade to WM 6.1.. Same should be on HD7
Try to get HD2 in shop..

Practically yes! At this moment not! May be never too.
As I told - HD2 and HD7 have basically same hardware, but it doesnt mean that firmware from HD2 will work on HD7 without changes.
WP7 is already ported from HD7 to HD2, of course with some limitations and bugs in functionality.
To buy native wp 6.5 device (like HD2) via ebay is I think the best solution for you case.

I can make 6.1 for HD2 as I did For native wm 6.5.3 samsung b7350 by downgrading it to wm 6.1.
Its because wm 6.X and less has almost same kernel so you can update from 5.0 to 6.5 and vise versa if you know how. Also you can use all programs from wm 2003 on wm 6.5...
WP7 is totally new OS - new kernel, and is not compatible with older apps..
Believe or dont- MS has spent many years by sitting at one place without serious improvements to their mobile products.. till Google came up with its Android for kids and made revolution. Temporary! MS will fight back at the end of 2011 with New WP update on new Nokia with multicore.
Nokia put their last hope to survive into WP7 as Microsoft. So do they win or fail together we will se later
