thanks orb3000! i'm doing it as part of my research. the whole point is to figure out what motivates students or people in general share their knowledge.
you've really got to ask yourself why you like sharing the knowledge you have with people you don't really know.
I could have told you my reason without having to fill out the survey.
I feel it's my responsbility to help someone out if I can help.
Helping on online forums doesn't take much effort but can be an immense help to someone else. Seeing that my help was appreciated is reward enough.

You can point in a friendly way (to which we all are used) and in a sarcastic one. From reading your posts in other threads I gather you prefer the second way, so don't complain of being hit back. You don't have to wait for Christmas to be nice to others.

I'm observing this long time in a lot of forums.
I'm really wondering how people are reacting seriously (sarcastic) when someone asks a question which is covered in another thread already.
Come on guys: that's a forum, if You are so nervous, pls simply don't answer.
Especially newbies may ask anything, and You: pls shut up, it is not necessary that You answer in that way, just to show, that You are here for some days longer than the new one.
Not then newbie with questions is disturbing but such answers !
On the other side just give him the link to the right thread. This is the reason why links are available.

1. can i get the HTC(touch) interface instead of the stock one.
2. How to activate the GPS? (do i need to unlock it)
3. What do i need to do if i wanna watch youtube in my phone?

Since this is your first post I will point you in the right direction.
First see the fist link in my signature. This will teach you the in's and out's of posting.
1. I think what you mean is the cube if I not mistaken. You can get the touch interface (cube)by downloading this. Poorly Duck's Cubes
2. GPS is already activated. I would suggest downloading Google Maps or Live Search for the mobile. You should be able to find both of these by searching google. Google Maps & Windows Live Search Mobile
3. To watch youtube. Download first this app. TCPMP .72
Then download this one. FlashVideoBundle
Click on Video Sites from Start > Programs and you should be able to select either YouTube...Google Video what have you.
Next time you want to find something you are looking for I would do this.
Use Google Advanced search by clicking on this link.Google Advanced Search and then put XDA in front of anything you are looking for.
well, i guess this being like the 100th new stupid question thread this week goes to prove that consolidating the threads did not fix the laziness/ignorance of new members...
vBullentin has a module that makes member's read preselected threads before being able to read any other thread and post. I hope the admin takes it into consideration. It well surely save all this clutter.

Hi, I'm completely new to the forum and a complete novice coder (even novice is an overstatement).
I'd like to develop an app that involves photo stitching, panoramic functions and some other cool features that can be discussed after securing an NDA.
I'm currently working on a wire frame and graphic design for buttons, icons, GUI, etc, but need someone who is good at programming these types of apps, initially for Android, later porting to iOS.
Any and all recommendations for specific individuals, dev teams or companies would be greatly appreciated. I'm an individual entrepreneur with a little capital, but far from "deep pockets", so unfortunately, cost is a big factor. Looking for best bang/buck. Thanks fellas!

Hey Raj, thanks, but I'm not looking to code an app myself, I'm looking for a dev that I can pay to create one. I tried to learn C++.....i didn't get much past "Hello world!" til I realized I just plain suck at coding! Lol
