Hi
Is there any free dictionary English for WM 6.1?
Pardon me if this has been asked earlier
Regards
hey,
im slightly confused by that, your rom is wwe yes so you could use the built in one for that purpose although a bit inconvenient i guess. If your after a stand alone app then thats a good question to which i dont know..... i'll take a look
I was asking for a stand alone app
How to use the built in one?
Btw I know about Lexisgoo Dictionary but I dont like that
I use MDict (http://www.octopus-studio.com/product.en.htm) and the Wordnet database(12MB) for dictionary lookups.
I also have a Wikipedia database(732MB) for other general information loaded on my storage card.

1. welcome to XDA-Dev
2. your best friend will be the forum search engine. I REALLY recommend restricting searches for my nickname AND this ("General") forum only when you look for complete product roundups - then, you may find the roundup I've published on the subject very quickly.

Yup, but http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=275403 should be the first to read so that the OP knows where to look first.
I have a 160MB wiki, English, in TomeRaider3 format.. year 2000 database (no pics), which fits alright in my 1GB card and as far as the information is concerned, seems alright. Let me know if any of you wanted it and I can upload it somewhere (tell me where)

Well, I don't think year 2000 databases should be distributed - the pages I've linked have early 2006 TR databases for free...
Hello,
I might sound naive but would it be able to run a desktop simple application (such as a dictionnary in my case) on my windows mobile device ?
Thank you in advance for any tip
No.
Different OS and different processor architecture mean your WM device wouldn't have a clue as to what to do with this app.
There DOS emulators that can run old apps with varying degree of success bu nothing for windows as far as I know.

As it's been pointed out, it's pretty futile to try to emulate anything. Use a remote controller application - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=288506 for more info
EDIT: I've just noticed you've already read the article
There is a DOS emulator for ppc though.
BTW, there are a lot of dictionaries for the Pocket PC, including even Japanese. Did you read my related articles?

No, I looked around, but could not find your article. I would be glad to have the link.
I also found out that roadlingua dictionary shell (http://www.absoluteword.com/roadlng/) might be a solution, as I can create my own data base. I might be able to tune the one that is working on my desktop and implement it on this shell (french<>japanese). I will give it a try this w.e.
I also found these dictionaries for Japanese<>English (most of them freeware)
・EBPocket
・WordNet 2.0 - Dictionary & Thesaurus

Hi,
I have the O2 polaris version (xda orbit 2) from germany, I want to be able to view hebrew text. I don't need\want the extra features provided by paragon\eyron\pdac. I can't stress this enough... I DON'T want this crap on my device. It just makes it messed up. I'm perfectly comfortable with the german interface that comes with the device. I just want to be able to READ (not write) hebrew emails and SMS. Simple enough.
Is there any way to achieve this?
Thanks!
