Hey guys, just joined up with this forum. I just purchased the ATT 8525 today and hopefully it will be here in a few days. Is there anything that i should know more about this phone, besides specs and stuff? Anything that i should do when i get the phone? Any advice will be good.
Thanks
Welcome to xda! There is a wealth of information here for your phone. Before your next post:
1. Read the sticky at the top of the Hermes section regarding posting (trust me its for your own good)
2. Get VERY familiar with this section of the site:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
If I were you I would spend some serious time reading through the forums before you decide to do anything to your phone. It will definitiely help you in the long run. Good Luck!
hi and welcome
i'm not as familiar with the unit you have but i think it's also known as wizard....guyz, please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong here... but in any case, scroll down the main forum page and you should see the section dedicated to the wizard. from there you can browse around and check the extremely useful list of topics for the device.
cheers
No..see my signature. The 8525 is a Hermes. I have the same phone.
norwstman30, welcome to xda-devs!!!
please, please, please, please, search and read! everything you will run into IS on this forum and posting a question of what to do when your 8525 (hermes) freezes or drops calls.. etc will annoy the rest of us. The wiki has all you need to know, welcome to owning a great device!
i own the imate jasjam which is the same as the 8525 except its black and has a camera on the front. I'm on at&t aswell in austin, texas... hook 'em horns!
Hey, just joined, purchased the Softbank X01HT, and the person previously installed the english pack. Will definately read through the wiki first.
Just wanted to say hi!
Hi Guys,
This is my first post and its 1 in the morning, so please forgive me if this has been asked before
Later today, I'm wanting to place an order for the HTC Cruise. I liked the Glofiish x800, but dismissed it because of the potential buggy nature of the unit from reviews I read and of course the support forum is nowhere as good as this
So my question. Since the Cruise already comes with a cube, will I be able to use any of the Cubes created by developers on this forum, since they are much cooler. If so which ones?
Are there any other apps that will work from this site, that will add the kewl factor? For example the 'apple-esque' lock function S2U2 - will that work on the Cruise?
Sorry if this is a stupid question or has been asked before, but I'm a newbie to the Pocket PC and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi!
I'm a new member of this forum and I've seen a lot of threads about new skins for the HTC touch diamond and my question is, how do I change the theme and the skin of HTC Touch Diamond? (I've installed the "special" program you need in order to do this")
This might be quite easy for you to do, but I've just bought an HTC Touch Diamond and I'm still learning.

The great Q&A Team is doing a great job, se let´s help them respecting the rules
Hi Guys,
Well first to give you a backgroud I have been a diehard nokia fan for the last 10 years but in the new decade wanted something new so got myself a Windows Phone -- HTC HD2.
But still fighting my way out of the nokia phase. So if any of u may be kind enough to share their knowledge of how to make my honeymoon with HTC a memorable one I would more than appreciate your time and knowledge.
thanks in advance
Here is the first suggestion, stop creating useless threads and polls that clog up our forum. Because people will just get annoyed and not want to help you with reak queastions and problems.
Secondly, read the leo wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Leo
and the leo forums, http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=532
familiarize yourself with phone and then come back and ask specific questions about your phone and people will be glad to answer them for you.
I suggest you wait a few months, there will be a lot of nice phones out there from HTC! And if you can't wait, I should go for the HD2, which is probably getting a WM7 upgrade in Q3 of this year.
hey guys
i'm about to buy a htc touch cruise (i'm guessing it's polaris from the internet) in the next couple of days. i only found about the driver issues only today, so i'm worried.
this forum has so many threads i don't know what to read first or where to start. would it be too troublesome to have one of you experts guide me in upgrading my phone, step by step, or which links i should click on first?
or should i just use the phone the way it is?
thank you very much.
