I have a HP rx5940 GPS Travel companion, running Windows Mobile 5.0
OS 5.1.195 (Build 14989.2.6.0)
It comes with TomTom 6 in the ROM and European MAPS.
Is there a way to:
a) Add maps to it
b) Upgrade to WinMo 6
c) Change the pre-installed maps to US / Canada?
Thanks in advance

TomTom have just released the latest Mobile update, v5.20. This update adds support for WM5.0 handsets and in particular those with QVGA Screens such as the Orange c550 and the equivalent models on other networks.
Unusually you require a card reader in order to install the update, this cannot be installed via ActiveSync or Nokia PC Suite.
The download can be obtained here.

Just gotten hold of copilot 6 live and its for the pocket pc platforms (came with a vario on tmobile upgrade)
but want to use it with the SP5 but it wont install
anyone know if I can trick the install to think its a pocket PC and not a smartphone, ie a reg hack or something
as its part of an upgrade package I wont be able to exchange it for a smartphone version
I have the exact opposite problem. I just upgraded from an SP3i to a KJAM and have the Smartphone version of Copilot Live 6. I assume the maps are the same, I wonder if we could trade application disks. I'm not sure if licenses are transferable on this or not, but it might be worth a try...

1/ TOM TOM is excellent, else it wouldn't be so popular! You can find out more at http://www.tomtom.com/products/category.php?ID=1&Language=1 and you should be able to buy it at consumer electronics stores like **** Smith, or perhaps for cheaper off eBay.
2/ Please search the forums next time! The latest version of WINDOWS is Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, however the latest ROM of Windows (check Start > Settings > System > Device Information in your Magician) is 1.13 (T-Mobile) or 1.12 official O2, as mentioned earlier.
3/ Not a clue. However I have managed to google a review of TomTom + SirfStar II GPS with a HTC Wizard (http://www.theunwired.net/?itemid=3206), which is pretty close to what you seem to be seeking!
Hello all
Have someone installed the Navigon MobileNavigator 6 for Windows Mobile SmartPhones on a S710 or S730? Does it run also on the S730?
Can I use the TomTom Bluetooth GPS-Receiver also for Navigon MobileNavigator 6?
Thanks a lot
Fritolo74
Apparantly Mobile Navigator 7 from Navigon should work on a windows mobile standard smartphone:
According to their compatiblity site:
http://www.navigon.com/site/nl/nl/products/navigation_software/windowsmobile_pda#compatibility
I have tried the Try/buy software but I'm unable to get the correct version to work on my mobile, it always installs the pda version.
Did somebody made it work, and does somebody has the full version ?
thank you
