Delay-Disable all alerts, notifications and reminders during phone calls wm 6.1 - General Questions and Answers

Can this be done.
I experienced a repeating reminder on and during a phone call today for the first time. How Annoying. I don't want to use the WM functions to disable reminders, notifications, and alerts (I like the functionality). I just want to find a program to delay the alerts until a phone call is done, so that they don't blast my ears out, and the callers ears out.
I moved from the palm platform to my Sprint HTC Touch Pro WM 6.1, and love it. But utilities for palm are much more available for customizing annoying little details like this one.
There is a program that I ran on my Treo 700P called Phone Technician by Hobbyist software that had the functionality to delay alarms until a call was completed (alarms off during calls). It worked great under palm OS to do just what I am requesting (it does not turn them off it just delays them until the call is done.
I did an extensive search on XDA, and I know that there are several posts about this, but know one seems to have come up with a hack or program to do this.
How about it, I can't be the only person that has issues with this.
On one of the threads, recommendations, I tired Phone Alarm, which supposedly will do this. It does not work on my phone.
Think this would be a great project for some one to tackle.
TIA, would love to here some response.

Any takers on this question?

Help? HP iPAQ 510 playing tones while talking

Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me. I tried another forum but never heard back. There are a couple of problems. I received an unlocked HP iPAQ 510 Voice Messenger for Christmas 2007. I can't find any information on fixing this or a fix for this.
When I am on the phone talking to someone, they can hear that I’ve received a message (voice, text, etc). They can hear reminder sounds and that I’ve missed calls. It just keeps on playing right out of the speaker. We just have to wait for it to play out. It doesn't matter if the call is on Normal, Outdoor, or Vibrate. The other party and I can still hear that a message or alert has come through. I did stumble onto an option under Settings>Accessibility. I can change the In-Call Alert Volume from 0-5. I won't hear the alert while on the phone if I set the profile to Silent or if I adjust the In-Call Alert Volume to 0. I would like a way to hear a regular beep and for the other caller to hear nothing. You know... as though I am using some other phone that works properly. I hate having to go back and forth changing my profiles. It must be HP related or something. My friend has an iMate sp5m and this doesn’t happen to them. We even compared our registries. I’ve not stumbled onto this in various forums.
Also, for incoming calls, I’ve chosen a ringer of my choice. When I answer the call, it stops playing this ringer sound immediately. I would like the same to happen for my messages. When I receive any type of text message, upon checking the message, the sound should cease. It is not doing this. How can this be fixed? Now after checking the forums, it seems that there is no real way to do this regardless of if it is Windows Mobile 5 or 6. However, I figured I'd ask or I could've missed something.
I chatted with HP a couple times and they had me do a master reset a few times. This didn’t help it. I called the repair number and they sent me another phone. I received the new HP iPAQ 510 today. It still has the same issue with playing tones while I am on the phone. Is there a registry value or something that I am missing?
I haven’t done much within the registry of this phone. I have completely unlocked the phone using SDA Application Unlock and changed a couple policy values.

Thank you for your reply and confirmation on the text message issue. Also, I turned on the loudspeaker while on a call. I sent a message and took it off and sent one as well. We could still hear the tone. You mentioned that you have or had a 514. Does this issue I'm describing when on a call sound familiar to you? I may have HP send me a 514 (if there are less issues) or maybe I'll look at getting an HTC Touch Dual or a S730. Of course I'll have to research them more.

Automatic Call Forwarding Scheduler

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know of a program I can run that switches Call forward on and off at certain times?
I have a personal mobile and a work mobile but I spend all day driving and dont want to wear 2 bluetooth headsets, if anyone knows of a program that will allow me to schedule certain days to use it and the times to switch it on and off (like activesync email settings) that would be brilliant.
Or if there's a clever guy out there who can knock up a quick routine I would be really grateful.
I currently run an HTC Kaiser WM6 (original) device.
Thanks guys
Terry

Windows Mobile architecture on PDA phones?

Has Microsoft (or anyone else, for that matter) ever published a book, whitepaper, or anything else that actually explains how the various components of WM5/6 actually "work" in a real PDA phone?
I've seen various scattered documents at MSDN that tell how to write applications for phones running WM5/6, but I've never been able to find anything that coherently explains how a PDA phone running WM5/6 actually HANDLES incoming/outgoing phone calls -- the apps and DLLs involved, points where you can wedge your own handlers into the event chain, etc.
I guess what I'm really looking for right now is some guidance about where to even LOOK for that info... the official library/object name(s), the proper phrases to google for, etc. I have a hunch that what I'm looking for is NOT in the MSDN documentation tree for WM6 Professional PDA Phones, and is hidden somewhere else in the hierarchy... but finding anything at MSDN feels like searching for a needle in a haystack unless you already know exactly what you're looking for and what it's officially called ;-)
For what it's worth, I want to write my own replacement handler(s) for voicemail notifications. I can't stand the way WM6 stupidly makes me swat away the notification that I have voicemail, and decline to listen to it, then swat away a second notification that I have a missed call before FINALLY letting me know whose call I missed (and by extension, who left the voicemail message). I want to write a handler that shows something like:
Missed Calls:
Joe Smith @ 3 minutes ago (italics = left voicemail)
Jenna Ho @ 2:27am
Matt Johnson @ yesterday 11:52pm
Matt Johnson @ yesterday 10:23PM
on the screen instead.
Also, I use my cell phone as my "real" phone, and have an AT&T cordless phone that pairs with it via bluetooth. Unfortunately, it doesn't notify me of voicemail or received SMS messages, and I can easily go for HOURS without noticing (say, if I'm outside when someone calls, and they leave a voicemail message... until I physically happen to wake up the phone and look at the display, I'll never even know someone called). So... I want to build a circuit using a BlueSMIRF bluetooth-uart module and a microcontroller that toggles an input on my home automation/burglar alarm system (triggering a voice announcement over the loudspeakers), and have my handler app on the phone connect to it and trigger that notification every few minutes until I notice. I also wouldn't mind being able to make the phone go crazy vibrating in response to a received sms/voicemail message, so if I'm somewhere like a noisy nightclub wearing loose jeans and don't notice, it will keep vibrating and making noise until I do.

If you search in the Development and Hacking threads on XDA there is a tool called, IIRC, Call Firewall, which might be what you are looking for.
Use this tool to search http://www.google.com/advanced_search?q=+site:http://forum.xda-developers.com&hl=en&lr=&as_qdr=all

Looks like it simply rejects the call. If that is the case, the caller will be sent to my voicemail and I still have to delete it afterwards.
Call Bouncer is better. It accepts the call and hang up. No voicemail.
However, there is a problem I think would appear in all these programs. At times, I got a ring (or half a ring) before it is caught by Call Bouncer. I found this rather annoying.
Is there any apps out there that silents selected incoming calls instead of rejecting them?
Sometimes I don't want them to know I'm rejecting their calls, just that I wasn't around to receive them.

I have the impression that pocket call bouncer has an option to reject (accept and hang up) or ignore (turn of ringing). Give it a try. I've used it on HD2 but I don't like it because at times the phone rings once before the bouncer can take action.
Magicall does all that. It can:
1) reject (send to voicemail)
2) drop
3) pick up and hold
4) ignore (no ringing is sounded while caller keeps waiting)
5) handle incoming SMS
You can also set it to automatically send SMS to callers.

my most excellent buds.. the programs are all reactive stuff.. something has to happen for the programs to do something.
If you really want to let the person think you just didn't pick up his call, then just simply copy a silent ringtone and use it as a custom ringtone for the person... you'll never "hear" from him/her again.
And.. it just takes 30s to turn off voicemail.. I mean, you wouldn't want the person to wonder why is it that you have voicemail and he/she wasn't diverted there?

No worries...I'm using Callblock now and it works great....
Just replying moooxooom's statement that we should use a silent ringtone for all callers. Sometimes it takes just a little bit more thinking to capture all the usual scenarios.
Cool call management app - my recommendation
I use HTC Diamond 2 and recently came across a cool call management and call blocking app XBLOCKR. I first downloaded the Lite version from Microsoft Marketplace and was quite impressed. It has a great feature "Do Not Disturb" and alas it is not available in the Lite version that I was using. I contacted them through their website as they sell it for $ 19.95 which I feel is a reasonable price, but thought of bargaining
They gave me a code and I purchased it for $ 14.95.
It's a great app if anybody is looking for something different than call blocker apps. It gives you options to handle your call when it arrives as well you can pre-program. I am very happy having it on my Diamond. Check it out as they have a 100 call trial version with all the features.

The readme for Call Bouncer states that it ignores the same as Call Firewall does, this sending the caller over to your voicemail. The developers site for it is at http://www.ipocketpc.net/applications/Category32-Utilities.aspx (scroll down to it) to see if this is the same Call Bouncer you are talking about.

Voice Caller ID

I suppose this topic has been beaten to death, but I would appreciate the wisdom and advice from the users of this forum. I am new to android, having just upgraded to an HTC Raider with Bell Mobility in Canada. The phone came originally with Gingerbread, with an optional upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich. Eagerly, and without thinking I immediately upgraded. Please be patient, I am getting to the point
I drive a truck for a living and require hands free. Stopping for messages or calls is too time consuming. I am currently using Sonalight Text By Voice. It works on my phone (most of the time), but only covers 3 of the 4 main functions I require by voice (voice dialing, SMS reading, SMS composition). The fourth, caller ID, is not available in the app. I am using this with a Jawbone ERA in the truck, but the truck is so loud, the app can't hear my voice over the noise. I am considering purchasing a Motorola finiti headset, as it has stealth mode, which I need in my truck; and it has caller ID built in for contacts. I realize that the finiti has not been well received by many, but I'm thinking with stealth mode, my voice apps and callers will be able to hear me over the noise in the truck. I spoke to Motorola and was advised that stealth mode can be turned on when not on a call, to communicate with the phone. I hope that wasn't "motospeak". If Motorola was blowing smoke when they said stealth mode can always be on, perhaps you can let me know.
On the software side, I have downloaded everything that even smells like a voice caller ID app. So far nothing works with my phone over bluetooth. Many of the more popular apps (Enhanced SMS & Caller ID, etc) advertise the fact that their apps will not work with bluetooth in ICS. Given this situation, I feel rather foolish for upgrading to ICS without thinking about the consequences.
This has been a rather long post from an android newbie. I am hoping that you can show me the way to a solution, or tell me there isn't one and say "stop banging your head against the wall".
I'd like to thank you all in advance for any help you have to offer.

Hi I agree with you 100% and have the same problem. However there does not seem to be any help responding to this problem. I would think that some developer would have the solution to this. Thanks JC
As the developer of Enhanced SMS & Caller ID, I can add some more info. This feature appears to work on Nexus devices but not any others (in our app with specific settings mentioned in my FAQ). I have created some bug reports in the AOSP and invite everyone else to add their comments to thw report so that Google takes it seriously. This is a very important feature for those in vehicles and with accessibility issues.
