How do I uninstall a game I have installed on my PDA and no longer want there?

I am using Faria's Rom [the real thing], and today when I tried to intall the beta 3 version of battery Status to the ROM it couldn't complete the instalation. Then I went to add/remove programs menu to delete the previous version of the Battery Status, however, the were no programs listed there. The list is empty. I remember having this problem once when I tried the MB Rom. Any suggestions?

That is because the program in built into the ROM and therefore cannot be removed using the remove programs. Go ahead and download the update and install it.
Nope, I know that, but I have a lot of other programs that I installed myself. About 10 of them, and they all seem to be working fine, however I don't see them in add/remove programs.
Are the programs your using installed via activesync, do they show in activesync as installed programs? were they installed on a storage card?

The active sync doesn't connect to the device. All the programs were installed in main memory.
it sounds like you might have to go back and install them through active sync. It might not work, but it would sort of force active sync to recognize your programs, do you know what i mean?

Yes, but when I said add/remove programs menu, I meant the one that is in the phone, not in the active sync. I don't see the one in the phone menu
I think that if you want to update a program that's already in the ROM you will have to run th CAB, then remove it with the add/remove programs option, and then re-install it. otherwise the device may not recognize the updated version.

I had the same problem after upgrading to the BatteryStatusExt.1.04.203.beta4.CAB. I could not activesync, could not delete, move or rename any files with File Explorer, could not install any CAB files and there were no programs in the Add/Remove programs list (even though like you, I had 10 or so installed). I was able to remove the BatteryStatus folder using TotalCommander but unforutenly, this did not help.
I had no choice but to hard reset my device which of course sorted the problem.

I've had the add/remove go blank on me several times...would not allow me to install any cab's...and obviously I could not uninstall anything if it wasn't listed. The sad thing is a hard reset is about the only fix. I started using Sprite Backup so if it happened I could get back to a recent image. It always seemed to occur about the time I went into camera settings and made changes too but I couldn't nail down the culprit..the one time I took an image, then did the camera settings, of course it worked fine. I know you won't like my answer..I sure didn't when it happened to me.
I tried to sync my Fuze today to install the PIM backup prog. so I can finally update my ROM to the newer one. For some reason, why I open the Windows Mobile Device Center, it keeps saying Error. It won't let me connect via Active Sync, but I can access my files when it is used as a disk drive.
I tried to uninstall any programs, but when I go to the Remove Programs, the box is completely empty!
Can someone help and tell me what could have caused this?
Do I have to hard reset to fix this?
Hi, this is kind of a difficult question for me to explain, but I will try.
I have Titanium Backup installed and it was working fine for a while.
One day the icon went corrupt and the app would not open.
Naturally I went to uninstall and reinstall the apk.
When I uninstalled, the app icon and links disappeared and the app ceased to function, but the app did not uninstall.
When I try to reinstall, it asks to replace the old with the new one.
The install finishes with "Application Not Installed"
I can not access Titanium Backup at all.
I have tried using ADB to uninstall and I have uninstalled from the manage applications. I also tried deleting the .apk from /data/app/.
Titanium backup will no longer show up in my Manage Application menu.
I made a flashable .zip from another phone and installed it that way, TiBu still did not show up in the app list, but all the files are in the phones filesystem.
Hopefully someone can help me fix this without reinstalling the ROM.
The problem phone: HTC Hero CDMA CM7 Nightlies.
Thank you!
I hate to bump my own post, but my thread seems to have gotten lost among newer ones and I do not know where else to ask for help fixing it.
Can Polaris Office be uninstalled from the managing applications option? It doesn't seem to allow that.
I've had a number of problems with Polaris and opening docs, have installed and am happy with Documents to Go and would like to remove PO. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.
You can't do it via the managing application. If your transformer is rooted, you can use titanium backup, root explorer or use adb commands to uninstall.
you need root access to uninstall apps in /system/app/
There is also a market app :
h t t p s://market.android.com/details?id=com.danesh.system.app.remover&feature=search_result
SystemApp Remover.
Thanks, I'm rooted and use Titanium back-up. I'll go that route. Much appreciated!
