Hi,
This is very undocumented but obtained by disassembling.
This shows your appointments text in the week view of the Calendar.
[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Calendar]
"showtextinweekview:=dword:00000001
Works for Windows CE4+.
Have fun,
Tweakradje
Thanks man,
Best used in landscape on my magician.
M
Can we see the screenshot
Victor
sorry no screenshot available
Sorry can't do, my magician won't attach files to the board. The tweak is harmless, so invest 2 minutes & see for yourself. In QVGA long app. don't show all text, but it's better than nothing.
M
Tried this in HKLM etc on my Universal (the Calendar section doesn't appear in HKCU). Didn't work.
Not in the Calendar HKCU on Wizard. Didn't work.

Key described in first post is correct. How about creating the key yourself ;O)
Works here... event needs to be long enough to fit the text, though

how did you get it to work. I do not have calendar in HKCU?
Just add it
If you're using PHM Regedit:
1. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft
2. In the bottom menu, choose Edit > New Key...
3. Set the name to "Calendar"
4. In the bottom menu, choose Edit > New DWORD Value
5. Set the name to "ShowTextInWeekView"
6. Set the value to 1
7. Click OK
If you're using TRE (Tascal Registry Editor):
1. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft
2. In the bottom menu, choose New > Key
3. Set the name to "Calendar"
4. In the bottom menu, choose New Dword
5. Set the name to "ShowTextInWeekView"
6. Double-tap this new entry
6. Set the value to 1
7. Click OK
Thanks for the fast reply. I got it working just now. This is great.
Is there also a way to show whole day activities in the weekview?
Thanks for that ZeBoxx - that's really useful. Why don't the devices come with these options enabled ?
While looking at this I opened HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Calendar\ShowLunarCalendar and altered the DWORD Data value to 1.
After a soft reset go to Calendar, Menu, View and 'Lunar' appears in the drop down. Check it and when you scroll through with the left soft button, there's an extra screen with a month view and D02 - D30 followed by M01 in Feb M02 in March etc. I thought this might be Lunar Phases - but doesn't seem to be. Any ideas ?
They probably disabled it because, let's face it, there's not a whole lot you can read in it unless: 1. your words are short and 2. the event is long enough in duration to show it all
They should have made the week view have a horizontal layout - or at least give that as an option. Then showing the text wouldn't have been any issue whatsoever, and it would be more in line with 'Week' pocket agendas (you know, the paper kind) as well. I have no idea what MS were thinking with the vertical :>
As for the Lunar calendar view - it's a Lunar calendar view.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_calendar
I don't know enough about it to know whether it corresponds with any of the religious lunar calendars, though. You can derive the lunar phase from the Dxx number, though. D01 is roughly 'new moon', D14/D15 is roughly 'full moon'.
If you're using TotalCommander:
1. Go to HKCU\Software\Microsoft
2. In the bottom menu, choose Edit > Mkdir...
3. Set the name to "Calendar"
4. Go to the new folder and choose "+Add value+"
5. Set the name to "ShowTextInWeekView"w"
6. Choose type "Dword"
7. Set the value to 1
8. Click OK
I think it very usefull with my Qtek9000 where i mostly see my calendar in landscape mode.
9000 of course is vga as well, and if it's running in true vga mode, should have 4 times the space to show the text
ZeBoxx
If you had the week view the other way you would still have an issue because the text wouldn't fit in the hour / half hour slots !
Anyway thanks for the info on Lunar Calendar. After a bit of research it appears D16 is Full Moon and D30 or M is new moon - maybe that's what the M prefix is for.
Cheers.
BTW I couldn't benefit from the true VGA mode - my eyes won't allow it !!!!
Sure, you're going to run into a limitation one way or another. However, text (in most languages) is left>right or right>left, and you should be able to get a better fit in a horizontal orientation. E.g. your half hour example, they don't necessarily have to be as narrow as they currently are in the vertical layout - you could make them wider, and it would easily fit more text. If you do the same in the vertical layout (make them taller), you're still running into having to chop words up to make words fit.
Either layout would work just fine if the implementation actually had boxes that overlap across days / hours respectively to fit the entire description/location, and only use a small strip to indicate the actual duration. This is actually easier in a vertical layout I'll try and whip up an example picture - attached. A problem that then occurs, of course, is with overlapping events - or events at a time that the new overlapping box would obscure. Never an easy solution
Is there a way to make this work with 2003 SE?
It works on my magician with 2K3 in QVGA, so i do miss a lot text. But it better than nothing.
Regards, M

Hey guys,
ive been searching for this quite long and im still searching
Is there some kind of reg-hack where i can disable the scroll-bar on my today screen?
G00gle and boardsearch doesnt help me :/
hmmmm...common sense tells me that there isn't.
how would you expect your today screen to look like if you have 6-8 today plug-ins? with no scroll bar?
i hate that scroll bar too.
so to evoide it, i keep only the Date plug-in, SPB Diary (combines messagin+callendar+tasks+contacts+notes in the same space), and SPB Plus (quick launch icons).
sow with those 3 today plugins i evoid scroll bars.
you should resize the scrollbars sizes. i use the size 8 on my M5000.
it looks very smaller but it is still touchable and draggable even with the nail of my finger.
but i don't think there is a way to get rid of the scrollbars.
what method of fitting many today plugins would you suggest? this is the only one.
Nono guys, just thinning the scrollbars is definitely not the answer.
I actually did some searching as well and I found a statement of vijay555 and it worked fine on my device. There is a registry entry that can define whether there should be a scrollbar for a today item or not. You just set "type=5" for these today items and the scrollbar disappears:
1. Backup Registry, then using a good registry editor go to
HKLM > Software > Microsoft > Today > Items
2. Find the Plugin you want to be scrollbar less, eg in my case VJAudioNotes.
3. Glance through the entries and find the one that says "Type". Double click type and change the value to 5
4. Go into Settings > Today and make some minor change to your today screen to force it to refresh (or just soft reset). Hopefully the changes will now be reflected.
This will force the plugin to the top of the screen and force scrollbars to occur under that plugin.
The thread I'm referring to is that one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1172614&postcount=4
Yes nice, this was exacly what i was looking for BUT after a soft reset the reg doesnt save it.... and the order of the items is wrong and cant move em in the settings... "order" reg-setting doesnt change anything :/
mhh will have a look at this.
--Edit--
Seems it does work only for the top 3 items on the list. if a 4th one is set to type = 5 an other one gets automaticly type 4 :/
It does not always work. Do we always have to replace the value by the number "5" only?
For example, if I wanted to keep the owner info up top. The original value is "0". Based on the link you posted, replace it with "5", but instead of still showing the owner info, it completely disappears from the list. I'm just experimenting anyway. As Vijay said, BACKUP 1st.

Same thing with Calendar.
Hi, this is my first post..
recently i buy a qtek9100 with wm6 blackdiamond3...
I don´t know much about wm6 or wm5 and for this i need some help...
i need to change the numbers format (i hate the actual format) in the home screen on wm6...
please help.-
Thanks..
First i would like to say welcome to XDA Developers, second when asking a question it helps if you describe exactly what it is you want to change, instead of being vague and saying the number format on the today screen
what numbers format,in the home screen?
Your home screen is what is displayed when you first turn on the phone from standby. To change anything on the homescreen like the plugins (htc Home etc) then just click start > settings > today > items then you can enable or disable what you like.
If you want to change the font of the main clock then download HTC Home customiser and that will allow you to change the appearance of htc home (which is the plugin that is displayed)
If you are in fact on about the dialpad when dialing numbers then you will need to install another dialpad on the phone.
finish i made the changes (only change the font type).-
Thanks a lot..-
glad i helped, just remember to make sure you explain in a bit more detail next time, i.e. say you want to change the font of the clock, not the numbers on the today screen.
Hi All,
Just got my MDA Compact V - T- Mobile's version of the Diamond 2 ... have a few issues that I could do with some help on.
1. Keyboard doesn't have the £ sign - can't find any settings for a uk keyboard!
2. As usual, T-Mobile have a dull theme - how can I cange the wm theme to pure black? I also prefer the original HTC Diamond background - liked the theme I had on my first Diamond (attached pic) - does anyone know if this exists for the Diamond 2 & where can I get it? I know it's probably a bit boring for most, but I would ideally like to have the exact same theme on the diamond 2 if pos - any suggestions welcome
3. T-Mobile have replaced the flippy clock - is there any way I can add this?
4. The date format is MMM DD, YYYY - can I change this - I prefer DDD MMM YYYY
Thanks for any help or pointers
UPDATE:
Not any any replies
but have solved the flippy closk issue (though more by accident than design). Installed Background for all tabs and it appeared out of nowhere However, new problem now with the slider - pic attached - the slider is white (ish) and quite wide and so blocks the adjacent icons - is there any way I can reduce the size of the slier or make it transparent?
Would still like to resolve the date format issue - to ddd mmm yyyy instead of mmm dd, yyyy
Still need the £ sign on my keyboard
Still want the HTC Black wallpaper
any help anyone
Thanks

for the £ sign you should press the 12# button on the keyboard (right side), and then on the left side there is a button 1/2, when you press that you will go to 2/2 and you'll see the £ and € sign.

edit: it works. thankyou very much
Can someone upload a screenshot of glossy white clock?
try the following thread i have the same phoneand same problems

If you just want the black HTC TouchFlow3D and you don't want to flash a new ROM your can download the file which there is a link to in the first post on this page :
http://www.planete-htc.com/index.php?mod=forum&ac=voir&id=20612&debut=20&cat=237
They say it's important that the screen doesn't go off during the cab's installation so turn off all power saving settings first so the screen stays on.
Then all you have to do is extract the cab from the zip, copy the cab on to your phone and then run it. Wait for it to install. It takes awhile, it's normal. Then it will reset itself and you will have a black TF3D

That doesn't work.
I think that is the layout of the flippy clock, but at the Compact V the flippy clock is switched off, so first I need to switch it on.
Vijaydesor told he put the flippy clock on, I want to know how.
Is it possible to install clocks used with Manila 2.0 also in Manila 2.1 Original ROM?
Or is there a basic difference?
Nobody know how I can enable the flippy clock in the standard Compact V?

what is the best way to show missed calls \ sms etc in the home page. or in the notification toolbar
the less stuff I need to install around it, the better
I would prefer not install max manilla really.
and if I had to, then I dont want it to change the look on my HD2
regards
Just use Co0kie's Home tab it shows missed called etc with minimal change of the homescreen, use the search function to find the thread hope this helps ^^
it increase number of shortcus (makes them smaller).
also it changes few things in the layout which i dont like much

You can turn off all the things that change the layout so that it looks exactly the same as default. Everything in Co0kie's home tab is optional.
I dont have notification in the top bar,
it would be nice if I can see all the changes in one place really, ideally the lock screen but I dont want S2U2.
I could not find a way to revert cookie home tab to 3x3

Sorry mate - my bad. The next release, which is imminent, will have 3x3 back, as well as number of quicklink pages, so you don't have to have the left and right ones (if you don't want them).
so there is no easy way to see
missed calls\ new sms
in convenient one location?
